I was looking for some good motivational, inspiration and funny quotes to use for my lettering practice and art journaling. This book says right on the cover Funny, Inspirational and Motivational Quotes on Life, Love and much else...but I didn't really that a lot of them were. It's like I had to read through sooooo many to find a few good gems I could use. I'm not sure why but this book actually made me feel pretty negative. I suppose if you are looking for random quotes on specific subjects that you could use this but I felt that it didn't fit it's description or fill my needs of motivation or inspiration.
Reading quotes has become one of my favorite pastimes. How else can I learn and benefit from those who have lived before and during my lifetime? Through their thoughts, expressions and quotes.
This, "The Big Book of Quotes," by M. Prefontaine, has been one of my favorite "books" to read. It's absolutely fantastic! I love that I could pick it up at any time and read as much or as little as I wanted. I could set it down and pick it up right where I left off.
This book had so many wonderful quotes. Every page had a quote that either made me laugh out loud or were relatable. Many were even thought-provoking. There are quotes from famous historians such as Abraham Lincoln, Napoleon Bonaparte, Winston Churchill, Shakespeare and many more ranging from all sorts of topics.
I am a quotes connoisseur, and loved every single page of this book. I sat down and read from the first page all the way to the last. The only caveat I had while reading this was that some quotes were repeated often. In fact, there is even a whole chapter (small) that was entirely repeated. Other than that, I highly recommend this book and I'm happy to give it five stars.
Seeing as this is a book of quotes let me leave those of you who are interested in quotes with a few of my own:
"Quotes are like farts; they can either be poorly timed, or perfectly executed."
"Plans are like fat people, there's a lot of them and they usually do not work out."
"Honestly, you've got to be brave to do something stupid."
I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did, Happy Reading!
I do love a good quote. I decided to pick up The Big Book of Quotes by M Prefontaine because I was looking for specific quotes for scrapbook that I am currently making and whist the book didn’t include the category of quotes that I needed I did enjoy reading the quotes in this book.
The quotes cover topics from life, love, death, hope, courage to George W Bush (this section is particularly titillating) and the spectrum of quotes are diverse as they are funny.
This is definitely a book for the quote collector.
