If you have Endometriosis (or think you may do, as it can take far too many years to get a diagnosis) - this book is a must read! I am so grateful I came across this book in my deep dive into natural Endometriosis treatment. Like the author, I too have very advanced Endo, have had many surgeries, trialed many drugs and pain medications; all of which have only left me in a worse state. After a recent (and hopefully me last) operation, I was desperate to try something new, something natural. Wendy's book was a blessing. After 12 weeks following only half of the protocols, I have significantly less pain. Still a long way to go, but so far the best outcome out of all other medical roads taken to take - and I still need to add in the remaining protocols which will surely boost the reduction in pain. Wendy's honesty and openness on her experience with poor health, the medical world and the impacts on mental health resonate greatly. The style of writing is very easy to read, well planned out and offers really good checklists to help you start your journey to better health. Don't hesitate - just buy the book.
I have read a lot of books on Endometriosis but this is one of those books that really resonated with me especially as I have Stage IV endo like the author did. I found it so inspirational that after 33 years she managed to find a natural way out of this pain. I have already started to implement many of the changes she suggested and after 6 weeks I am starting to notice a difference already. I cannot recommend this book highly enough especially as it gives not only her story but a step by step guide too. I also like her Cookbook with 101 Recipes which has really helped me to experiment with tasty and simple recipes - which can be so hard when you are working full time. Really good read!
Hopefully all I’ll need! Loved how concise this information was while also clearly explaining each theorized aspect of the pathology and healing mechanism explored.
I have read many books on Endometriosis but so many seem to be written by doctors or surgeons and I had almost given up thinking there were any 'success' stories. It was a relief to finally read a story that I related too (so many surgeries and treatments yet no relief!) and then how the author was able to find another way to not only manage her Endometriosis and Adenomyosis but also be able to heal it and put it into remission is so inspiring. I have been able to start implementing some of the suggestions already and I like that it is a whole body/whole person approach rather than assuming one area alone with 'fix' it. It is early days but I have already found my ovulation goes without pain and my periods and lighter so I am so encouraged and thankful for her writing this book. I would recommend it to anyone who has exhausted the conventional route and not getting better. Ultimately it only helps us to help our body to do what it always wants to do according to Wendy - which is to heal itself.
Didn't include anything mind-blowing or new to me. I feel like it was a little misleading as she has had the surgery to remove the lesions cysts and adhesions.... I'm sure that everything she did helped to heal her, 100%, but I'm not entirely sure of the benefit for someone who still lives with these things in their body. Operations are traumatic on the body and so it's likely most of the benefit came from healing that trauma, I'm entirely sceptical of the supplement she suggested that supposedly would break down lesions and cysts..... Specially after my own research; even holistic companies had removed it from their sites claiming a complete lack of evidence 🤦🏻♀️
On top of that the writing was a little meh and there were plenty of typos and editing issues.
This book is informative and obviously is written by someone who has spent a lot of time learning about endometriosis and estrogen dominance. Laidlaw effectively shares her experience with the condition and her journey to natural healing in the hopes that more women will go the natural route. This book reassured me that I’m making the right choice. She lists a number of meal and snack ideas at the end of the book that I look forward to trying. I’m glad I found this book even though it was understandably heavy at times.
Thankful to you, for giving me a moment to Stop myself going into the biggest wrong right decision I can ever make the big Hysterectomy. I have battled endometriosis ademyosis cysts adhesions fibroids the list goes on, it was taken my soul, but I will keep fighting this disease within me, you have given me Hope. Thankyou for letting me feel there are other options
Wendy's book is great if you're just been diagnosed with endometriosis. She reviews the options for treatment and provides suggestions for healing naturally.
Informative but I wanted more. Similar to the author I have late stage endometriosis which has progressively worsened over 30 years. It took almost two decades of symptoms and suffering to diagnose; I’ve seen dozens of doctors, specialists, surgeons, taken the hormones, pain killers, supplements, diet changes, exercise, mindfulness and meditation, and read all the books. There’s a lot of misinformation out there that is unfortunately perpetuated by well-meaning-but-misinformed doctors and the Internet, and anyone can write a book. Endometriosis is a women’s health issue that is, like many other women’s health issues greatly under researched and misunderstood. This is a good book - it’s honest and informative and will help some women more than their doctors will ever, I’m grateful for the author to take the time to share her research and experiences but I wanted more.
Very impactful book for me and my health. My stomach cramps have reduced considerably and cysts have shrunk too. I found the range of advice useful and it was super helpful to have a suggestion list of recipes. With a bit more time I'm sure I'll see my endometriosis completely go.
I wrote this review on the other tab of this book but I thought it was worth repeating. Thanks to the author.
My wife loved this book. It helped her massively and her endometriosis is now in remission after suffering for a long time with no improvements. Recommended!
