Kyle is such an adorable dork. He's the IT guy who is not all that alpha, but rather sweet, shy and unsure. He hits it off with Haley on two fronts: at work and on the phone, only she doesn't know they're both him. Haley is getting over a bad relationship and is trying to find someone that's right for her. It takes her a bit but she realizes she's developed feelings for Kyle. After a rough start they start a relationship only Kyle has yet to come clean. Haley has trust issues so it was bound to be messy. I enjoyed the build up more than anything. It wasn't insta lust but a gradual burn until a pretty hot boil. Kyle might not be alpha but he sure as hell has some moves :-p Haley has her moments where I wasn't a big fan but for the most part, she matched well with this type of hero. It was a really sweet story. Perfect to end the weekend with.

I took delight in the unconventional approach to their courtship. Kyle is a lovable nerd and the kind of character that is normally overlooked. Although almost immediately friend-zoned by Haley, it's not long before she too sees the Superman beneath his Clark Kent.
 
With her I’m the guy who makes her blush. I’m the guy who makes her skin shiver and her knees quake and her mouth moan in the most delicious way.
 
Until it’s Right is an enjoyable, light-hearted romance by Jamie Howard. The twist in this romance adds further depth and dimension and it's a book I would definitely recommend if you are in the mood for a sweet romance with some added layers.

So I have a confession to make, I was so hesitant in reading Jamie Howard's second book because unfortunately I was not a fan of her first book, Until We Break at all and found the story line and characters emotionally taxing. But OMG, I am so happy that I didn't let Until We Break deter my decision in reading her second follow up because Until It's Right blew me away and left a big fat smile on my face. Until It's Right was more than just right. It was perfect and everything I could have wanted, hoped, and craved for in a New Adult Contemporary Romance. Ms. Howard left readers like myself in awe with this second book because I was absolutely smitten with the story of Haley Mitchell and Kyle Lawson.

“The only problem is that I can’t tell if her hand in mine is the lifeline I’ve been waiting for, or the anchor that’ll drag me to the bottom and drown me.”

So if you read the first book, I was not a Sloane fan at all. I just couldn't connect to her at all on any emotional level. And so when I found out that Haley was getting a book. I was beyond thrilled and couldn't wait to get my hands on her story because of how things ended in the first book, my heart broke for her and I believed she is the one character who DESERVES a happily ever after. And let me just say, Ms. Howard did not disappoint her readers at all. She DELIVERED a story that was brimming with so much passion, love, friendship, and raw emotions that readers like myself couldn't help but be consumed with Haley and her journey to finding "real love" and a love that is worthy of respect, friendship, trust, and commitment.

Haley Mitchell was ready to move on after finding out her best friend's sister is dating her ex-boyfriend, Luke. The guy whom she envisioned to be her happily ever after. Haley was ready to start anew. She was ready to be bold, confident, and sexy like Sloane, the girl that her ex is dating now. So when Haley decides to get back out on the dating scene, she meets Bryce. Bryce had all qualifications that Haley was looking for. He was nice, good-looking and charming. And so when they exchanged numbers at the bar, Haley was so excited that she found a guy that could possibly help her get back out on the dating scene. Three days later after their first meeting, Haley decides to text Bryce. Well as it turns out, the number that she got was a wrong number. And for some unknown reason, Haley and this “unknown number” begin somewhat a friendship via text. Soon Haley gives this unknown person a moniker calling him "Clark."



‘Clark’ and Haley soon begin this text friendship. It was the kind of friendship that was simple and not complicated. Haley found it comforting to text Clark and tell him embarrassing and personal matters without any judgement. He was like her personal Dear Abby.

Kyle Lawson is the IT guy so when he was asked to assist the new employee with her computer, he was stunned to meet Haley. Instantly, Kyle was drawn and attracted to Haley and her bubbly personality. He felt a connection but didn’t act on it since he has always been known as the lovable nerd. But for some reason, Kyle was brave enough to give Haley his personal number if she ever needed any help with computers or anything.

“My heart is right there too, pinned to my sleeve, but I’m too scared to admit it to him. Instead, I show him what I can’t say by devouring him with my mouth, tilting his chin down so I can kiss him as deeply as I can possibly manage.”

After a horrible blind date, Haley finds herself lockout when she left her car keys inside the car. When she discovers that her roommates are not home and won’t be back for a couple of hours, she decided to call Kyle. Kyle came to the rescue and brought Haley back to his apartment as she waited for her friends to pick her up. Soon Kyle and Haley find themselves striking up a friendship and getting along so well. But when Haley is in the bathroom, Kyle gets a text message. Well it turns out “Clark” got a text message from “Lois” aka Haley, which happens to be Kyle’s work phone.

After discovering that Haley is “Lois” the girl that he has been exchanging text messages, Kyle is troubled because he really likes Haley but he feels Haley might like ‘Clark’ more since she has no problems with texting and telling him personal matters of the heart.

As Kyle and Haley begin their friendship, deep feelings begins to surface for the both of them. The lines of friendship begins to get blurred when Kyle begins to see Haley in a whole new light and the same can be said of Haley as well. Kyle being the good guy that he is feels it is necessary to tell Haley that he is also Clark. But it seems the right moment to tell her the truth is never right since Haley’s past and family seem to get in the way. So what will happen when Haley discovers that Kyle is also ‘Clark’? Will Haley be able to forgive Kyle? And will Kyle be able to show Haley that he is nothing like her ex?

“And damn it all to hell, I am so in love with her. It’s not even something that’s been creeping up on me. It didn’t blindside me or take me by surprise. No, falling in love with Haley was inevitable, predictable, unavoidable. I saw it bearing down on me like an oncoming train , speeding toward me from the moment I met her. My only fear is that one day that train’s going to run me over and absolutely ruin me.”

Until It’s Right was a gem of a read. I seriously love and adore this book so much. It had the perfect balance of drama, angst, laughter, friendship, banter, and of course romance. This book was not just any typical new adult romance but it was a love story that set hearts fluttering with it palpable and tangible love connection. It usually takes me awhile to fall in love with both the hero and heroine, but Ms. Howard had written Haley and Kyle in such a way that I didn’t want their story to end. I absolutely adored this couple and wished the author wrote an epilogue because I couldn’t get enough of these two.

Jamie Howard clearly demonstrated that she will get it until it's right because her writing, story line, and raw characters clearly stole my attention and heart. THIS BOOK is a MUST READ if you are a fan of New Adult Contemporary Romance. This book had characters who were so relatable and fun. I love how Ms. Howard stripped her characters raw and allowed readers to see a vulnerable side that will warm and touch our hearts. So if you are looking for a story that was wonderfully executed with it’s gorgeous prose, raw characters and story line then I highly urge you to READ this book. And I will forewarn you that you may fall in love with a geek hero who has managed to show us that Clark Kent has nothing on Kyle Lawson.

I enjoyed reading this book but it was just ok. After reading the blurb I expected more...

Clark & Lois
I like the idea behind this story and I enjoyed their messages at the beginning but I missed the point when their relationship transformed from being strangers to being friends who share their secrets...

Me: It’s fine, you don’t have to tell me. I’ll just call you … Bob.
Bob: C’mon, that’s so lame. You could at least come up with something cool. Like Thor.
Me: Didn’t you say your track record with women is a mess? That doesn’t sound very Thor-like.
Bob: That’s not very nice of you to point out.
Me: Oops. Sorry.
Me: I’m still not going to call you Thor.
Bob: How about Peter?
Me: Like Spiderman?
Me: Are you sitting at home in your Batman pajamas reading comic books right now?
Bob: You’re doing the mean thing again.
Me: Whoops. Let’s compromise. How about Clark?
Bob: Superman. I dig it.


Kyle & Haley
I think they are cute and I like that they found each other. It was so obvious that they are into each other.

“You were making goo-goo eyes at each other during the entire reception.”

But their insecurities were in their way and that got on my nerves.

I’ve always been a shoe-in for Clark Kent, a bona fide geek with the glasses, but I’m not sure I’ll ever be anyone’s Superman.

I liked the way Kyle handled the situation after Haley discovered his secret, I especially liked his honesty.

Kyle: Embarrassing Fact #14: That night you slept over at my mom’s, I was so turned on sharing a bed with you that I woke up with the biggest boner. I was terrified you’d freak if you found out, so I crawled out of bed at five o’clock in the morning and took a ridiculously cold shower.

I definitively missed an epilogue.

But when he accidentally gives her the wrong number in the noisy club, the mystery man behind the "wrong" number becomes somewhat of a confidant for Haley. He is safe... a mystery to her and she is able to have a honest "conversation" with him and values his opinion. And she doesn't even know his name, so she nicknamed him Clark (after Superman).

Computer guru Kyle Lawson hasn't had the best luck with women. They tend to either put him in the friend zone or use him for his smarts. And when he meets the new temp, Haley, he is instantly attracted to her smarts, wit, and bubbly personality. The two strike up an office friendship. After Kyle discovers that Haley is the "Lois" to his "Clark", he doesn't know what to do. He is fears that if he tells Haley that he is "Clark" that she won't want anything to do with him anymore, and if he doesn't tell her he can still talk to her without fear of rejection. Haley seems to be able to talk to "Clark" more about matters of her heart.

Their friendship builds into deeper feelings for both Haley and Kyle. But secrets don't usually stay secrets forever. So what will happen when Haley finds out that Kyle is her "Clark". Will she be able to forgive Kyle? And will Kyle be able to convince Haley that he is nothing like her ex?

Until It's Right is the the first book I've read by Jamie Howard. I don't think I really want to go back and read Until We Break (Luke Evan 'Haley's ex' and Sloane Avery) story. I'm not a big fan of "cheating" books and from Haley's story, that is what Until We Break sounds like. Plus I didn't really like the little bit of Sloane I read about in this book. But after all that, I really liked Haley and Kyle's story. It was a really sweet read and I thought just what Haley needed after what she went through with her ex.

I’m so in love right now.

So crazy, ooey gooey, hopelessly in love.

This book, you guys! It drove me crazy! It made me laugh, it made me ache, it made me want to throw my Kindle (gently, onto the couch cushions) with frustration and, just when it pushed me to limits of my patience, it took a turn that left me breathless, swooning, and so deeply in love.

Kyle Lawson is basically the opposite of alpha. He’s nerdy and awkward, and more than a little insecure. If you’re worried that this may come off as weak or annoying, don’t be. Somehow this is written as endearing and sweet and—despite all these so-called shortcomings—Kyle is steady, strong, loyal and kind. I adored him. I loved every single thing about him, from his adorkable awkwardness to his boisterous, loving family, to his appreciation for good grammar.

Haley Mitchell is trying to move on with her life after her own self-image has taken a beating. When she develops a fast friendship with the IT guy at her new temp job, it doesn’t take long for those friendly feelings to deepen. Kyle is nothing like the men she’s dated in the past, but that might be the best thing about him. As the two work their way through mixed signals, mixed communications, and the itty bitty detail that Haley has been unknowingly texting Kyle after getting the wrong number from a guy she met at the bar, the frustration and tension between them builds. Ultimately, one of them will have to make a move—but when all secrets are revealed, will they be strong enough to survive the fallout?

The push/pull dance between Kyle and Haley for the first third of the book was brutal. My heart raced. I waited breathlessly for someone to make a move and then the game changed on me. The frustration was worth it because together they were so…beautiful. So lovingly tender, and blazing hot. At its core, this is a friends-to-lovers romance and because of that, and the torturously slow build-up in the beginning, it felt so authentic and so much deeper than it otherwise might have.

Every single thing about this book worked for me—there was no part of the story that felt boring or that I wanted to skip over. I loved every single secondary character (Brian! The world needs a Brian book!), every little subplot. I loved the smart writing, and the character development and—most of all—I loved Haley and Kyle so frickin’ hard.

Until It's Right is a truly wonderful book. It's sweet, hot, funny and light, yet underneath its fluffy exterior is a book that kind of hurt my heart. Bruised me a little bit; left me with an ache and a frown I'm not sure I'm completely over.

Here's the thing, though. I didn't realize, because it wasn't listed on Goodreads when we received the invite to review, that this book is the second in a series. So, I went in blind and was floored by the feels that hit me when I (mostly) pieced together Haley's backstory. I wish I had a little more insight into the events of Until We Break because, although I was able to glean a LOT of the information I needed, I still felt a little in the dark—and very much like the couple from book one were not deserving. Whenever we encountered them here, I felt strangely stabby. I can't honestly say I would want to go back and experience their story firsthand, unfortunately—possibly because I adored Haley, and have felt her hurt, the blow to her confidence, more than enough already.

Yes, this backstory blindness gave me a boatload of affection for Haley. She was sweet and honest. I wanted the best for her—I wanted Kyle for her. I felt anger on her behalf at the way she was treated, and I really, really wanted her to get her HEA. I wanted to leave this book behind with a smile on my face because this girl had a full heart, and, for the most part, I did.

Kyle Lawson *may* have had a lot to do with that. That man, seriously. Like I said, I wanted him for Haley. He was PERFECT for Haley. He was nerdy hot—nerdtastic, if you will. He, too, was honest and open (for the most part), but he was also this kind, funny guy, and that just made him all the more swoonworthy. And my smile all the easier to access. Oh, and my heart start to fill, just like my girl’s.

Until It's Right may not have been perfect—my backstory woes and secondary character anguish aside, I also felt like there were a couple of vital moments missing with regards to Haley and Kyle's mystery texting—but it was adorable. Jamie Howard gave us two incredibly lovable and likeable main characters, a strong female friendship to admire (shout-out to Tara), and Kyle’s please-let-him-get-the-next-book brother, Brian. Not only that, her story was flirty and cute, but didn't skimp of the tension—bringing the drama to a head in a natural and believable way. Yup, just like I said... Wonderful. ~ Beth, 4 stars

Haley is in a funk after a three year relationship ends abruptly. Her entire life changes due to it and her roommate, Tara is trying to get her to back in the game. She meets a guy at a bar and things start to look up…until he gives her the wrong number. Suddenly, she finds herself in a texting relationship with a stranger.

Enter Kyle, the IT guy at Haley’s new temp job. He is awkward and insecure, but so kind and sweet and loyal. The two quickly form an easy friendship. Kyle is someone that Haley can turn to, and she doesn’t have many people in her life like that anymore.

“My feelings for Kyle are anything but simple. They’re all rolled up and tangled like a bunch of messily stored Christmas lights. Tugging on one end just makes things more knotted and confused.”

The push/pull between Kyle and Haley is so cute—it hit all the feels! I laughed at them. I wanted to throw my kindle. I wanted to shake them both. And when they finally admit to their feelings—talk about some sexy times.

Until It's Right by Jamie Howard is the first book I've read by Howard. Although it's a spin off from Until We Break, it can be read as a standalone and miss nothing. I received a complimentary copy for an honest review.

Haley Mitchell was beautiful, funny, sassy and still recovering from a heart break. Kyle Lawson was the attractive, geeky IT guru that Haley met the first day of her new job.

I loved the premise of the book. Haley was ready to start dating again. She met this great guy at a bar who gave her his phone number and said the ball was in her court. When she did reach out, she discovered it was a wrong number. It was a humorous interaction, thus the texts continued into a texting only friendship.

In the meantime, Haley met Kyle at work and they became friends. They both were secretly attracted to each other unbeknownst to the other. Kyle figured out his mystery text girl was actually Haley but kept it a secret, not wanting to ruin what they had. It was a funny journey of friendship, until it finally became more.

Howard took us through the relationship with some really sweet and hilarious moments. I fell for them both and pulled for them through it all. Eventually they each had to confront their pasts and reveal their secrets. As expected, they sailed on some and hit a big wave on others.

In the end, it was well written, well developed, sweet and an enjoyable, quick read. It was perfect for my mood for the moment. I read it straight through and will definitely read more from Howard. I am now totally pulling for a book for Kyle's brother, Brian.....hint hint.

Haley is ready to get over her ex of three years and what better way to do that than in her new clothes surrounded by men in expensive suits? Except when she finally meets a guy she connects with she puts his number in her phone wrong. What ensues is a text friendship between Clark and Haley, known as Lois by Clark. They share their fears, their secrets, and all their wants. Haley finds herself developing feelings for Kyle, the cute IT guy in her new job, and he feels them too, but he doesn't know how to tell her that he is Clark. As friendship and relationship blossoms the secret of who is on the other end of the phone may just tear them apart.

Predictable? Yes. Enjoyable? Definitely. Jamie Howard weaves a cute tale of unconventional romance with characters Haley and Kyle, also known as Lois and Clark. If ever that was a book boyfriend to add to your collection, Kyle is it. He's nerdy, shy, and offers Haley friendship with food and witty banter. The twist, that readers are in on, makes things even more interesting when we see this other side of Kyle, also known as Clark, who offers advice on anything from relationship and dates to clothing. Haley is a jaded character, determined to get over her ex, but holding onto all her past feelings. She doesn't know how to handle feelings for men, she's got piles of guilt on her shoulders, and she certainly doesn't know how to entertain two men. If I was in the book, I would have definitely been among the friends telling Haley she needed to open her eyes.

I really enjoyed the growth in Haley as the book progressed, both in her life with friends and family and with Kyle, and especially enjoyed the text relationship she carried on with Clark. As Lois and Clark, they both shed their fears and opened up, revealing to the reader their secrets, but not to one another in real life. As the story unfolds, and Kyle discovers Lois is really Haley, the relationship between Kyle and Haley develops and it is beyond cute to read. Their encounters are funny and lust filled, and their friendship makes an excellent base for their blossoming feelings. It was so easy to connect with both characters and hope for a happy ending for them in this emotional and cute read.

This one was fun! I love nerds and Kyle is the most adorable kind of nerd -- smart, shy IT guy.... He's Seth from The OC all grown up and I love him.

Haley is still recovering from a broken heart and perhaps it was only a soft-spoken non-threatening nerdy guy like Kyle who could win her heart but circumstances keep getting in their way. One of them? The secret Kyle's been hiding from Haley.

See, Haley met a guy at a club and transcribed his number wrong. After texting to the wrong number she kinda clicks with the mystery man who answers. Not long after meeting her Kyle KNOWS he's the man Haley has been texting. How does he tell her without ruining everything???

I liked Kyle. A LOT. And I think Haley is a great character as well. With two so likable characters, of course we're all rooting for them to get their act together and fall in love!

There was a good amount of humor -- I found myself giggling a few times. Like I said, this was a lot of fun! I will definitely be reading more by Jamie Howard.

“Until It's Right” by Jamie Howard is a great book. I was drawn into the story after I struggled through the first few pages.

I have to say “FINALLY” a book that again lets the reader really feel how a relationship develops.

Kyle was developed as a really interesting character, refreshingly not one of the common alpha males. Instead he radiated a quite strength that sometimes is even more precious then those alpha males, as it is a rare quality.

Haley was a likeable enough character to connect to as a reader. So the relationship they developed together was interesting and even funny at times ( I would have to give away spoiler to be more precise so … sorry)

Overall a really sweet romance that I can fully recommend

I tried to finish this. Twice. It had a lot of tropes which I love like nerds, betas, work romances, and missives before meeting but something was missing and I couldnt pinpoint it.

Well, it becomes obvious that it is the spinoff of the previous book and you dont want to read the previous bk because the H/h sound like assholes who cheated. There is that.

Then you realize that the writing is not that good and relies too much on misunderstandings.
It became tiresome. Well, I tried. I really did.

I just absolutely adored this book. ADORED it. If you don't think you can fall for a beta hero, you must read this book. Kyle is wonderful!! I love that I went into this knowing nothing about the plot (I hadn't even read the back copy! Haha) so I'm not going to say anything but that I smiled through the entire thing, I could barely wait to get back to it when I had to put it down, and I loved every second of it. It was just an absolutely charming and beautifully executed read!

I loved this book so much that I ended up highlighting and adding more notes than I usually do. So I’ll start this review with my first and last note:

“OMG, he’s so adorable”

“OMG I’m so in love with this book!!!”

That pretty much sums up my experience. Kyle is adorable. This book is great. As simple as that. So, I don’t know what you’re going to be doing on March 1st, but you need to make time to buy your copy and start reading it.

Seriously, I absolutely loved it.

So, here we go… From my review of Jamie Howard’s debut UNTIL WE BREAK, you know her writing made me feel. Angry, mostly, but still. With her second, the feelings were just as intense, but much, much happier.

In a way, UNTIL IT’S RIGHT is the exact opposite of this author’s debut. It’s so sweet and cute that I felt like hugging it – and its characters most of the time.

Haley comes back as the main character and I’m glad I get to know her a little better. In UWB, Haley was the girl who got screwed over so many times she’s still recovering from all that shit that went down. She’s moved away from Luke & Cia and is now sharing an apartment with a friend (not sure her friend was part of the first book. Can’t remember). She’s also starting a new temp job soon. But most of all, she’s looking for a new guy who’ll make her forget Luke.

I felt sorry for her while reading UWB. I truly did. So it made me happy to see her moving on and searching for true love. After everything Luke and Sloane put her through, I can’t think of anyone else who deserves it more. And things are looking good since she meets this super hot guy and they hit it off. Phone numbers are exchanged and all that. I was all “YAY, go girl”.

But then Kyle happens. It quickly turns into “YAY, go boy!” because Kyle is that awesome.

See… The phone number Haley got the night she met super hot guy? Not his. But the person texting her back is cool and has a great sense of humor. Did you guess it already? Probably did if you read the blurb. Kyle is the one getting Haley’s texts. And he makes it clear from the start that he isn’t super hot guy, which was the first sign I’d grow to love him. He could’ve easily pretended to be who she thought, but he didn’t. Because Kyle is that awesome.

You know what else? Kyle and Haley actually work together. He’s the IT guy at the new temp job she’s starting. They meet and start having lunch together almost every day, and it’s cute and adorable and my next comment was:

“They’re adorable”

Because my comments on Kindle are that helpful and repetitive. I don’t care.

Anyway… Pretty soon Kyle realizes the mysterious text girl is Haley, but how is he going to tell her that? Without reading the story first, you can roll your eyes and think: Just freaking tell her already. Easy, huh? By Jamie Howard is great at exploring her characters’ self-doubt and she was pretty brilliant inserting things here and there that gave Kyle (and the reader) pause. *claps*

The thing is… Kyle risks losing the girl he’s falling for by telling her the truth. And at this point I’m so in love with him and the idea of them as a couple that I don’t want him to tell her because it’ll break my heart. I know. It’s awful, but I’m selfish and in love so leave me alone.

You may ask me, why are you writing a thesis here? And why are you so in love with Kyle?

Dude! It’s so hard to find nice, nerdy and cute love interests in the book world that when I do I fall hard. And I’m head over heels in love with this character. He made my book boyfriend list – check my bookshelves. And you see the “we-should-be-friends” one there? That’s also for Kyle. I want to be his friend. Why isn’t he real?

I’ll be honest here and say, if you’re looking for super sexy male characters, Kyle isn’t your best bet. But if you’re looking for boyfriend material, you came to the right place. I can’t say much more because it’ll take away from the experience of reading and meeting him, but it’s worth it. Go meet Kyle, but remember, he’s mine. And since I was the first to post a review on Goodreads, I’m calling dibs.

Okay.. So this review turned into a love letter to Kyle, but that happens. It’s a statement to how much I enjoyed this book. And maybe you won’t fall for Kyle the way I did, but there are still so many things right with this book that it’ll keep you interested and wanting to read more. Haley is a pretty great protagonist, the romance is the cutest thing in the planet, the characters are flawed and complex, Kyle’s relationship (and bromance) with his brother is amazing, Haley’s friends and roommate are the kind of friends most girls hope to have, and the list goes on. Oh, the sex is hot, too. Can’t believe I forgot that one.

Another thing I loved about this was how there wasn’t a clear right or wrong answer to these characters’ problems. Should Kyle have told Haley the truth? Should Haley have chosen the path she did all those years ago when it comes to her family? Should she have slapped Sloane when she saw her? The answer to the last one is easy, but the rest? Not so much.


I guess what I’m saying is: Thank you, Jamie Howard for creating Kyle and for writing this book. And please make me the president of Kyle’s fan club. Please?

This was a book that I intended to read leisurely while I had down time at work and spread it out over the next week or so. What I didn't expect is for me to love the story so much that I couldn't stop reading and ended up finishing it all in two days.

Haley just got out of a terrible breakup that lead her to lose not only her boyfriend but also most of her friends along the way. She also hasn't spoken with her family in four years, so now she is virtually alone (aside from her roommate, Tara). Tara convinces her that it is time to put herself out there, so they head out to a local club to see what options Haley has. Pretty much off the bat, Haley locks eyes with a gorgeous stranger who immediately asks her to dance. They talk and dance late into the night until Tara makes Haley leave. The guy gives Haley his phone number-- he shouts it to her over the music while they are on the dance floor causing her to mishear one digit. When she goes to text him in a few days, she gets the disappointing reality that it isn't his phone number, but a nameless stranger who engages her in conversation. In a moment of drunken weakness, she keeps talking to her new text friend and they develop an unlikely friendship and tells him all things she can't tell anyone else. She even nicknames him Clark (short for Clark Kent) because of his mysteriousness and he calls her Lois.

Haley starts a new temp job and meets her adorable coworker, Kyle, who is the resident IT nerd. They click instantly and soon start having lunch together every day. They each start developing feelings for each other, but neither has the courage to tell each other. To complicate thing, one night when Haley is at Kyle's apartment, she texts Clark and much to Kyle's surprise, his phone goes off. After putting two and two together, Kyle realizes that he is actually Clark and Haley has been texting his work phone this entire time. Now that he knows the truth, he has no idea what to do. He doesn't want to deceive Haley, but how can he tell her the truth without her ditching him? So he decides to just hold off and hope she stops texting Clark. Their friendship ebbs and flows and the feelings for each other grow stronger and stronger. They both have so many other things going on in their life and neither will come clean about their feelings that it leads the other to think that they aren't interested. Finally everything comes to a head and the truth is revealed, and Haley has to decide if she can ever forgive Kyle for lying to her.

This book was ADORABLE. I loved all of the characters in it, especially Kyle. He is such a breath of fresh air when it comes to guys in NA books. He is dorky and proud of it, and he isn't your typical Greek god statue. He has glasses and is tall and lean and just as self conscious about his body as any girl. He treats Haley like gold and would make an excellent book boyfriend. Even his fatal flaw of lying to her about the Clark thing can be written off to bad judgement.

It killed me how long Kyle was in the friendzone. Kyle and Haley have incredible chemistry. At first, I thought the book was pretty innocent. I thought to myself "I thought this was a NA book?" and then BAM! Just when I was least expecting it, we get the heat. Man oh man, I am not disappointed. Kyle takes all that insecurity and throws it out the window and brings his A game. The sexual tension that between Haley and Kyle could have been cut with a knife and when it finally happened, I was ready to excuse myself to go sit under a cold shower. Thank tha lordt for the nerds of the world.

The story flowed really well and I liked the pace of things. My only complaint is that the author gives us little tastes of background info about the characters here and there but doesn't go into it. For example, at the wedding, Haley runs into Sloane and Blaire's grandmother, Bunny, who she said she is really close to and that "it's complicated." Why? What's the story? I want to know more! Fingers crossed that this book turns into a series following Kyle and Haley and we get to know more about them.

If you are looking for a super quick NA read that is unlike any of the books out there, this is for you. Until It's Right comes out March 1st, so make sure you add this to your preorder your copy!

I was recently talking with some other authors about our favorite romance hero tropes. There were a lot of good ones that came up - the marine, the CEO, the jock, the best friend's brother, the band guy, the new coworker, etc.

But my favorite romance hero trope?

I like them nerdy and sweet. Give me your brainy computer geeks, your awkward nerds, your sweet boy-next-door who blushes when his crush looks at him. That is my type. The best friend who "was there all along!" The nice guy. The smart one. The more awkward and sweet, the better.

I am a huge fan of Jamie Howard's debut romance, UNTIL WE BREAK. I loved the small town setting, the hot hero, the sassy heroine, and watching their drama and romance unfold. The one part that made me sad was watching Luke's girlfriend Haley get her heart broken. So when I learned that UNTIL IT'S RIGHT would give Haley a happy ending, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it.

But when I found out that the hero Haley ends up with is her lovable, awkward, nerdy best friend?

I. FLIPPED. OUT.

As I said above, Kyle was such a sweetheart (who couldn't love a guy who stumps everyone with his ridiculous Scrabble words?). I was rooting for him and Haley to end up together from their first banter-filled texting conversation (Clarke + Lois 4life). I found myself tearing through this book, desperate to see them get together and not hurt anymore. Howard has a great way of drawing her readers into the story with complex characters and great sensory descriptions.

Definitely one of my top favorite romances of all time. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a sweet romance filled with heat!

When I first saw the blurb I thought “yeah, this looks like a cute book“, then I was reading it and my reaction was this:



Seriously guys, this book is all kinds of cute and awesome! I somewhat wished that it had a different cover though, because that cover doesn’t go along with this book… at all!

I loved the writing and the format of the book. It was so funny! The dual POV worked wonderfully here, and Haley and Kyle’s voices were totally different. Usually the male POV is a bit more crass and “manly”, but I loved how shy and awkward, yet amazing, Kyle was.

I think the blurb is a bit misleading though, given that Haley’s relationship with Kyle’s alter-ego never crosses the platonic stage, and she never actually friend-zones him. If anything they both convince themselves that they’re not good enough for the other, which was just sad.

The romance was awesome and beautiful. It’s a very slow pace romance, even though the attraction is there from the start, but they’re both too broken to be rash about it. They take their time, and their relationship is perfect because of that! <3



Both main characters are great, and a bit different from the “standard” in terms of New Adult novels. Still, they both go through an enormous character growth, which was so good to see.

I also really enjoyed the secondary characters, and the huge role that friends and family had in this book. The inclusion of such a normal yet different family was amazing, and I was secretly hoping that maybe the next book would be about Kyle’s brother… just saying… I see potential there!

To end this review, I absolutely loved this book. The romance and the characters were just amazing… it blew me away!

I usually like my books raw, dirty, gritty...you get the idea. Yet, every once in a while, I need something that cleanses my palette. Something to bring a little bit of light back into my world. I'm so happy to say that this book did that for me. This is my first read from Jamie Howard and I truly enjoyed it.

The story is told in dual POV, which I really like. I think it helped to build both Haley and Kyle's character. To be able to experience the journey from both of their views.

The star of the story for me is Kyle. He's just absolutely adorable in the geekiest way. From the moment he was introduce to Haley, I was hooked. He's dorky, funny, awkward and charismatic.

"I've always been pretty decent at the bedroom games, probably because I spend more time researching the best way tot get women off than I'd like to admit, but there's something about Haley that makes me feel like a sex god."

See! Dorky and funny! The entire time I was smiling at him or for him. I like that he was awkward yet appealing. The building romantic relationship between them was extremely slow. Normally, that would bother me. I'm not talking about instal-love. That I normally do have a problem with. I just like to see action early on. However, this slow pace actually worked. It played to his awkwardness and to both of their insecurities. It gives you desire to just want to root for them, building up emotions in you.

Overall, I thought this book was a super cute, sweet and funny book. It did what exactly what I wanted it to do. I look forward to seeing more work from Jamie.

I've been anxious for more from this author ever since finishing up Until We Break a few months ago. I think she completely outdid herself with this one! Until It's Right was so different than her first but just as captivating. It is filled with secrets and angst and laughter and will have you not wanting to put it down! I literally read this book in one setting, I loved it that much!

To be honest, I kind of didn't like Haley when we first met her in Until We Break, but not because of the person she was. I solely disliked her for the fact she came between the heroine and hero getting back together. As we learn her back story and get to really know who she is, I completely sympathized with her and felt every single emotion that she was feeling. I completely fell in love with Haley and Kyle! They have an intense connection from the first time they meet!

I loved how the plot was so original to me. I've never read anything like this before. Haley is convinced she has met her Perfect match but when she is accidentally given the wrong number, she starts to confide in the stranger on the other side. What she doesn't know is that her stranger turned confidante is actually her new coworker, Kyle. Not knowing what to do he decides to keep that fact a secret from her. When things start heating up between the two of them, he has to decide whether or not to risk losing the woman he's quickly falling in love with.

I can't wait to see what the author has in store for us next, and I hope it is real soon!

Until It's Right is a sweet romance with a side of smexy providing a much needed does of warm and fuzzies.

I adored Hayley and Kyle. Both have some emotional and self-esteem issues as a result of previous relationships gone bad. It was refreshing to see a male main character portrayed with the level of romance and attachment shown by Kyle, he wasn't afraid of his feelings for the most part.
The simple use of one digit being input incorrectly for a phone number inspired the whole fate/destiny basis of the plot. An exchange of texts with a random stranger leading to an anonymous friendship was completely believable and relatable. The whole 'six degrees of separation' came into play. Fate however, has a lot more in store than just an anonymous friendship when Hayley and Kyle form a real life friendship via their work situation without realising their texting connection. With intimate revelations hanging between them and their own insecurities it is understandable in Kyle's instance his reluctance to merging both identites.

For the most part Until It's Right is low on angst and high on romance. I do love a hot geeky guy with a heart of gold winiing the heart of the woman who completes him ♥

Love, love, loved this book! I do adore a lovable, geeky beta hero and Kyle is perfection!! After having her heart broken, Haley has decided it's time to get back out there. When she meets someone in a club that sparks her interest, she takes his number and promises to be in contact. Problem is the number she saved in her phone isn't for the guy she met but after a series of funny back and forth text sessions, the guy on the other end quickly becomes someone she relies on. What she doesn't know is that the guy on the other end is also the guy in the office that she quickly put into the friend zone but is slowly but surely working his way into her heart.

This is a wonderful lighthearted read that me smiling all the way through. I definitely recommend it.

At first I assumed I wasn't going to like this book because within the first 5% of the book I wasn't feeling the story and had to put it down. Then I gave it some time and I picked it back up just in time to see when the texts between Kyle and Haley started. As soon as I got to the first text between them I immediately fell in love! Maybe it was the Superhero references or the way the author wrote a witty comeback wit each new text- either way from the point on I was officially hooked! I could relate so much to Kyle that I started to believe that he was the fictional male version of myself- I kid you not. But then I started to fall in love with him!! I'm not sure what that says about me

Haley Mitchell was ready to get back to the dating world. After meeting someone in a club, she was almost sure she has met Mr. Perfect. But when he accidentally gave her the wrong number, she didn’t expect that a stranger would reply and easily became someone she can share secrets with.

Kyle Lawson was sort of a nerd. He was great with computers but his luck ran out with women. But then Haley arrived, he liked her, but it seems that she already decided they were better off as friends. Until, he accidentally discovered that she was the person he was texting. He tried to keep it a secret.

But when things starts to cross between being friends into something more, Kyle knew he needed to tell her soon about his secret or he might lose her for real. What happens when Haley will discover what he did? Would she be kind enough to forgive him? Or is he going to lose the best thing that might happened to him?

They might have started on the wrong foot, but the fact that in reality they started out as really great friends. Spent time knowing each other and developing feelings rather than insta-love makes this one seems like real rather than a mere fantasy. The fact that our guy here isn’t the usual alpha, instead he was really shy with girls, and adores his unconventional family makes this one an interesting read as well. Not to mention the amazing secondary characters surrounding our main characters. Some of them will make you realize that the person you label as villain may not be that bad after all.

I had so much fun, and swoon moments in reading this book. I love it – the friendship side, the romantic side and even every single issue they had individually. I enjoyed their talks – both via SMS or just sitting during lunch. Jamie Howard left no stone left unturned. And no questions left unanswered. Spent my day off reading this one, and didn’t really have the heart to put it down. Yep, finished it in one sitting.

A couple of weeks ago Cristina @My Tiny Obsessions reviewed this book and once I read her review I knew I wanted to read this book because we read basically the same books and I knew that if she loved this one I would probably love it too. Luckily this book was still on NetGalley so I was able to read it right away.

Let me just tell you, she was right about this book. I loved this book and how cute it was. I loved the main characters (especially Kyle and how cute and nerdy he was) and I loved that it had the dual POV because recently I’ve became real fond of dual POV’s on New Adult books. I loved Haley and Kyle’s story and how they became friends before anything else. I really liked that. I think it was possible to see the character growth by the end of the book and I really enjoyed that. I can’t forget about Haley and Kyle’s friends and family (at least part of them). They were amazing and pretty cool and I wouldn’t mind to have a book about Kyle’s brother, Brian, because he was pretty funny and I liked him. There was a few things that I wouldn’t want to happen but I do understand why they happened and the book was still great anyway. This book was everything I was needing when I read it :) .

Overall, I really liked this book and I want to read more book written by Jamie Howard. If you love to read New Adult romances you should read this one because it won’t disappoint you.

Until It’s Rights is the first book I have written by Jamie Howard. The blurb caught my attention when she asked if I could review it but I won’t lie say that I wasn’t getting my hopes up for anything. And she proved that she is definitely worth taking the chance on!

I really enjoyed the story of Kyle and Hayley. They “meet” due to a wrong number fiasco. They chat here and there about things in their life but nothing ever moves beyond that friend zone. But it’s in these texts that Kyle learns who Hayley is. And it’s from there that things get really interesting.

One thing that I absolutely enjoyed about Jamie’s writing is that she doesn’t string things out. She quickly gets to the meat of the story but still building the perfect plot. Everything flows naturally and you really get to like these characters.

The dual POV’s is perfect for this book. You really get a feel for these characters and she writs that characters very well. I love the dialogue and the added humor. Makes everything come together and the story so life like.

Anyone who is a huge romance fan and loves the mushy feelings throughout the book – this one is definitely right up your alley.

Ahhh. I LOVED this book. It’s one of the best I’ve read in a long time. *sighs and pats heart*
Those who read Jamie’s first book, UNTIL WE BREAK, will remember Haley, Luke’s girlfriend until Sloane returns and claims him.

In UNTIL IT’S RIGHT, Haley is doing her best to move on and forget her heartbreak surrounding Luke. She takes a new job and meets a geeky, quirk, and oddly sexy IT guy, Kyle. Their relationship grows from friendship to an awkward but unbelievably fun romance. Told in dueling povs, the story gives the reader insight into Kyle and Haley’s pasts and how it shapes their behavior in present day. I had such a great time watching these two fall in love.

The story is sweet, humorous, and has just enough steam to make you swoon.

I truly can’t wait to see what this author writes next. Oh, and I don’t think I’ll ever look at an IT guy in the same way again. :)

Utterly stunning read !!. This is Hayley and Kyle's story and the idea behind how these two meet was magical. If only all wrong number's ended this way. I smiled so much through this read I thought my face would crack.

Honestly, this is a MUST read for all you romantics out there who want and deserve our HEA's. I am elated that these two characters got their's.

Kyle Lawson is that Tech and he has fallen in love with Haley who is the new intern. They start texting each other with Haley thinking she is texting someone else where Kyle learns shortly after who he is texting.
This I thought was a sweet, cute and a easy read.

Until it's Right is a new adult contemporary romance by author Jamie Howard. I love the idea behind the plot of Until it's Right. Girl meets guy at bar. guy gives girl number. girl gets number wrong and starts a text romance with wrong number guy. Not to mention her real life romance/friendship with her cute coworker. And oh, yea, he also happens to be her wrong number texting buddy. It was just too cute of a concept to pass up. It screams romantic comedy to me. And Until it's Right turned out to be even better than I was expecting it to be. I instantly fell in love with Kyle and Haley. This book has top pick of 2015 written all over it.

Until it's Right is the kind of book that will give you book butterflies. You know what I mean, while you are reading you catch yourself smiling like an idiot, because the book is just so darn cute. The characters are just so darn cute and the whole story gives you all the warm and fuzzies. That is Until it's Right in a nutshell. Kyle is swoon-worthy and such a sweetheart. And Haley is a great gal. It made me sad that neither one of them realized their own potential. Each one thought that they didn't measure up in some way, and that is just a darn shame. Kyle takes the cake for me though. I am such a sucker for a nerdy guy. and watching Kyle freeze up every time he was around Haley was just about the cutest thing ever. I loved the line about the only words that were coming into his head at his disposal were "potato" and "monkey" after Hayley smiled at him. (see what I mean about the smiling and the warm and fuzzies?!)

The story unfolds in a kind of predictable manner, which was just what I wanted. (if you want more about how I feel about predictable books, check out my post on them here)There were a few surprises up author Jamie Howard's sleeves, but not anything that completely blindsided me. Much of the focus of the book was on Haley and Kyle and their various relationships. They were the stars, and it was fitting because the book was told in dual narrative between the two of them, with Haley chapters being just a bit more frequent than Kyle's

Bottom line: If you like new adult contemporary romances that are really really well done feel good books, this is a must read for you. It will have you smiling, laughing and will leave you in a better mood than when you started to read it. Until It's Right is the definition of a feel good romance to me. Read it!

After getting out of a long-term relationship and wanting to meet a new guy, Haley goes out with a girlfriend and ends up meeting a guy and exchanging numbers. Unbeknownst to her, with all the loud music she doesn’t get the correct number. When she decides to text the new guy she realizes it’s not him but strikes up a “texting relationship” with a guy she dubs Clark.

At the same time, she starts a new job and becomes friends with Kyle, the resident IT guy. Kyle is definitely a bit of a nerd but I swear…I ate it up. He has the glasses, he’s a bit self-conscious and OyMG, he’s just so wonderful. He is the kind of guy that all women should want in their lives. I think nerd is the new alpha-I will be the first person to start the trend.

Of course this book is all about coincidence or maybe it’s all about fate. I mean, I am a huge believer in fate, how else would a wrong number end up bringing her and Kyle closer?

The budding relationship between Hayley and Kyle will definitely bring a huge smile to your face as well as make your heart soar. I think both of them are needy in certain aspects of their lives and these two need each other to mend their own broken pieces. Plus, they both are so likeable that you will definitely be rooting for them to just get it on, lol!!!

Kyle eventually puts two and two together that Haley is the mystery girl that he has been texting with and has to live the guilt and doesn’t know how to break it to her along with falling for her. Or breaking her heart.

But as we all know, secrets don’t stay secrets for ever and eventually the truth is found out. Trust me, I won’t let you know how it ends-that’s all on you.

As much as I really enjoyed this one, I didn’t particularly care for Hayley’s family drama. I don’t really think that it was needed and didn’t really add anything to the story. Going in, I had no idea that this was actually part of a series (obviously I need to do my homework) but trust me when I say, this can definitely be read as a standalone.

If you are looking for some well-written, swoonworthy New Adult then this will definitely hit the spot!
