I have read many beginner books. This was a small, simple read. However I took some issues with it, the misinformation that you need fancy tools, and it read as a 'one true way' book. Which is simply untrue. Some interesting points however, take it with a pinch of salt.

A Small Touch of Info

Has information that is helpful. Contains 3/4 spells. Baseline book touching on some hens & crystals (common ones). Would be a great book for someone who is deciding if they were going to become & follow the witch path.

Simple easy read book, a BOS should be as different as Paganism
And the different types of witches out there

Don't read this misinformed garbage

Not only does the author skim over some of the most important parts of being pagan, they also imply that the ONLY way to be a REAL Wiccan or witch is to own fancy tools and do things very specific ways. To add further insult, the author also provides several love spells intended for the straight female and encourages calling on love goddesses to perform love spells on specific people (what many consider to be a big no no).

Great Book!

I really love this book, it's a fast read,I couldn't put it down. By far, one of the best beginner wicca books I've read! The spells are not bubble gummy and I wish the book was bigger. Looking forward to more of Karen Bonderud books!

A lot of misinformation regarding history and beliefs in Wicca. Read Drawing Down the Moon instead. I really doubt the author is even Wiccan. I think she probably just skimmed websites and wrote a book for profit.
