Xylan had a life most only dreamed about and a boyfriend who loved him. One night, one club, one moment of misplaced trust, and his whole life changed.

With his latest action movie finding worldwide success, Xylan decided to try something different by becoming a judge for the television show Talented Americans. There he meets Jarrett, a reporter with a surly attitude and a reputation for unethical journalism.
Xylan has a secret. While he may portray the larger than life action star in films, he has a desire to be dominated in the bedroom. With a room filled with equipment to fulfill that desire and his boyfriend Hamilton, who knows how to wield a paddle, Xylan feels he has found a perfect balance in life. Then one night while Hamilton is away, Xylan suffers the ultimate act of betrayal. When his world comes crashing down and his secret is revealed for the world to see, Xylan must decide if his love for Hamilton is enough to see them through.

Born and raised in the middle of the bible belt Rider has always used books to take her to places she never believed she would see and to help her live a life that she could only imagine.
Her first taste of city life was when she moved to Las Vegas Nevada after high school and experienced a whole world that small town country life hadn't prepared her for. For the next ten years she experienced a world of new things before returning to the small town life in Kansas and starting to write.
Her stories sat on her computer for a while until a friend suggested submitting them to a couple of m/m publishers. The result was a contract for the book she co wrote with her friend Angel called Faelon. Her first solo project is Legion. Just recently she was offered a contract for her second solo project called Forgotten.
Rider would love to here from her fans so feel free to drop her a line or ask how you can become a member of her street team.

Xylan by Rider Jacobs is a roller coaster ride of emotions for me. Xylan is a singer, and a actor. He is a submissive who doesn't know he really needs to submit. He has had a past that is tragic and now needs to be in a situation where he can trust the person he is with. He tries to give his heart to Hamilton but he always holds back a piece of his heart.
Hamilton is a Dom. He wants Xylan to give his all to him. But he too has been holding back a part of himself from Xylan.
Over all this story touches on a subject that some might find troubling, can't tell you what or would spoil the book, but there is a scene in here that is not for everyone. I liked the roller coaster of emotions and I liked the connection. It was almost perfect for me. Just a little off, perhaps the scene I mentioned was too much for me, I really could not say. Or perhaps it was more Hamilton's reaction to it that bothered me. Either way this book is just an okay read for me.

If you've made it this far then you know that this is a M/M romance. It's also got a little BDSM thrown in too so while it isn't going to be for everyone, it is well written so Xylan is a good choice for more adventurous readers. Amazon has it at just under 100 pages (and 4+ stars, btw), so it is definitely a fast read.

But Jacobs doesn't pull any punches with her plot and there were a lot of different things about it that worked for me. I really liked the committed relationship between Xylan and Hamilton - the trust and honesty and love between the two. There were moments of humor as well as some that were darker. And definitely some that were sexy and hot, but it's the ones that were from the heart that were the best.

If I have any complaint it is that I felt like I needed one more chapter to find out what happens next ... maybe there will be a follow up book. Not that I want more bad things for Xylan but I'm curious to see how everything turned out. If she doesn't have one planned, maybe we can talk Rider into writing one :)

Xylan has success in his career and love with his boyfriend Hamilton. Sounds like a perfect balance, right? Find out how one night with a reporter puts that balance to the test.

You’ll find a story with learning to place trust in the right hands, fulfilling desires, and commitment. Xylan’s story is definitely one worth sharing. I was left with a few unanswered questions, but that doesn’t take away from the story.

Looking for a good M/M romance that has its hot moments shared with a little BDSM? Oh, and don’t forget it also sweet moments and it’s definitely worth adding to your reading list. Enjoy!
