I wanted to bite her perfect lips, suck on her perfect tits, and take her beautiful body all for myself…but then I found out she was only seventeen.
I’m the University of Texas’ star quarterback, favored first round draft pick for the Denver Broncos, and a living f*cking legend—the last thing I need right now is a piece of jailbait with a sh*t ton of baggage.
But I can’t get her out of my mind. I can’t shake the feeling of pure unapologetic thirst for her body.
She’s not like the typical jersey-chasing sluts and super models that keep the football team entertained between games…she’s smart, infuriating, independent…a pretty young thing with a dark past and bright future.
She tries to act tough, but I know she’s scared. She tries to act confident, but I know she’s insecure. She tries to act bad, but deep down I know she’s as pure as an angel.
Nothing will stop me from getting to her—not my team, not my friends, not even the fact that our parents are getting married.
And when she finally meets the beast between my legs, she’ll really know what it’s like to be bad.
This contemporary new adult sports romance novel contains sexual content and offensive language. Full-length, no cliff-hanger.

20% in and I'm kind of over it. After meeting Ash and finding out she's 17, it's implied he takes his cheating ex girlfriend back. But he proceeds to screw another woman in some detail while at training camp. And gives us background on her, and tells us how she's different. I don't want to get to know someone not Ash. Then it segues from smitten to the cliche I hate my step story. And at 54% he's still with his ex. And now all of a sudden they can't get enough of each other and they love each other. I had high hopes for this book, but it was terrible.
I had hopes for this story, but it was an epic fail.
No. This book was all over the place. It had a little bit of everything, but the bottom line was I just didn't care. Too much was going on in this book. I didn't like the characters and the H didn't know what he wanted. He went back and forth, and again I did not care. He had a girlfriend other than the h for most of the book. Usually this would make me livid and I would DNF, but I could care less that he had her. He was not a man. He was a boy. It was a step-brother theme, that again didn't work. I won't be reading more by this author.
He had sex with everyone but the heroine till like half way into the book. The parts when they were together were way too short. It would have even been a pretty good book if the step element wasn't part of it. The whole taboo underage meeting thing was a good storyline on its own that could have been expanded but maybe them being together while she was still 17 would have made it more forbidden. The mother and father weren't even needed. I pretty much skipped them.
This was just a bad choice all around -- I should have known better after reading the reviews. But it's football -- and a sports-themed romance is hard to turn my back on. And the idea of the plot also was tempting as sin. But this one was just wrong on so many levels and not very well told either. The sports element was pretty much missing and the sexual content was plain old porn without story and the male lead was unlikable on so many levels. Sadly - I should not have one-clicked!
I was kind of worried about this book because of the low ratings and some of the reviews about the hero. I actually didn't mind the way the story flowed. It had a raw quality that made it more believable. The characters weren't perfect, leading normal lives with some shady issues. But the attraction was there and the relationship was built off of it. Besides some cheesy dialogue and not all together verbiage the story wasn't half bad. I really could have used a better ending though. And the dates/ timeline of each chapter were off and unnecessary. The ending seemed rushed and kinda leaves you hanging. Kinda bummed about that mostly.
I'm not sure why this book has such a low rating, it was really good. My only issues were a few grammar errors that can be corrected with a good edit. Also the ending was extremely rushed and felt forced to close. Considering we were introduced to a new twist that should have allowed the story to continue.
My quick suggestion to Celia Loren... It was a very good read. You could edit and update the story leave it at a cliff hanger and continue with a second installment. Just a suggestion!!!
I'll update my review later, then again if changes are made.
3.5 stars Boy meets girl at college party ends up being a kind of love at first site neither of them recognize. Finds out girl is 17, and they go their separate ways to never see each other again but neither can get the other out of their head. They both continue to live their lives until unexpectedly they are forced to face the other when their parents decide to get married and introduce their children during dinner one evening, and then things take a turn. The lust filled thoughts they had both been having quickly turn to disgust and hate for the other. Landon can't wait to be done with college and move onto the NFL, and Ash can't wait to be done with High School and move onto College, which happens to be the same school Landon goes to... After their parents relationship takes a turn for the worst they are again forced back together but this time neither can stop the feelings that connected them to begin with from coming back and taking over.
I almost didn't read this because of the reviews but I'm glad I did. I'm really not sure what the big deal is, yes Landon started sleeping with his ex girlfriend Zora again after he found out the one girl he wanted to be with (Ash) was only 17, and never saw her again. Yes he slept with another girl while at football camp, he wasn't dating Zora so...... Past that I thought this was a good fairly quick read.
Kindly provided with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.....
Okay, this Stepbrother story by Celia was that bit darker and edgier than Celia's other books, hence my 5 Stars up rating for this baby.
This is Ash and Landon's story. Ashleigh is a women who has had a hard past, but she still manages to not let it drag her down. Landon.....ah, Landon what can I say ?.....Mr Popular, Mr Girls throw themselves at his feet.....does Ash do this ?.....That would be a HUGE No !! and that my dear's makes ALL the difference.
ALAS, nothing good ever last's or is plain sailing and their past royally catches up with their future. Will their passion and new found love survive ?..... Read it and see my young grasshoppers.
This seriously is an easy read, the pace flows nicely, dialogue witty and plenty of steam !!!
I thought this story was OK up until the end. I thought the ending was abrupt and was missing somethings. I ended up skimming it because I thought it was going to be a sequel. I went along with the story for what it was but I did think it included too many elements. The age difference didn't really affect the story much because when it came to light that they would be step siblings, she was turning 18 so that was a non issue. Also, the football atmosphere didn't seem authentic. Landon was the star quarterback, he was able to breeze through completely untouched without people watching him or the press hounding him. That didn't seem real. I wish the ending would have been fleshed out more but overall a decent read.
I really tried with this book. The blurb had me anticipating a good read but I ended up disappointed. I wasn't invested in the characters at all and in the end I really didn't care about the outcome. There were elements in it that I would usually like yet they didn't resonate with me at all in this story. Overall, it was just ok.
Haven't read anything from Celia Loren before but this was a good introduction for me.
Ashleigh is a young woman who has taken a lot of responsibility dealing with an immature mother to the terrors of high school. Landon seems to be the guy who has it all good looks, great college life and any woman he can get! But we get a hint that all that glitter ain't gold at home with his dad.
Ash and Landon biggest block is when they become step siblings. Don't want to give too much away but if your interested will say give it a go
I loved this story line.. it was really had tout it done... its how true love should feel.. I was in tears for some parts of this book.. That's how hooked I was...
I enjoyed this story. I liked the characters, Ash and Landon. Story could have been a little bit better but still very enjoyable for me. I just wish that we had gotten more of Ash and Landon together. Ash and Landon meet at a party and have an instant connection. That connection is partially ruined when Landon finds out she is 17 still and we don't really get to see his reaction to that. Months later they meet again because of their parents. This is not a happy reunion so much. They both are a little ticked but this never sat completely well with me. They stay pissed off and at odds with each other for a good portion of the book which I was very sad over. I wanted more of what we got in the beginning. They come back together and start getting along when Landon's dad hits Ash's mom. Things move quickly from here and they keep their relationship under wraps because of what is going on with their parents and not wanting to upset Ash's mom and not knowing how people would really react. Things do feel a little rushed but I was happy that I was getting some Landon and Ash action where they got along...for the most part lol. The sex is hot when it finally happens between the two characters and I would have loved more of it. I wasn't really ready for the story to end. I wanted to know what happened next and how they deal with what happens in the end. The flow of the story is good, though like I said earlier, at times it does feel a little rushed. I did like the story line and would have loved to have had certain parts expanded because I was enjoying it. I was sad to have to say goodbye but happy to have found another author to read. I have already started checking out more from Celia Loren.
Well, mixed reviews for this book! Partly due to the fact that readers didn’t like the fact that the main guy, Landon, was with two other women before he sealed the deal with Ashleigh. I don’t see a problem.
Landon meets Ash at a frat party one night. Safe to assume that as she appears to be a college kid that she’s legal. When he finds out she’s still 17, nothing happens. However, they made a connection that night and got under each other’s skin.
Landon ends up back with his cheating ex, Zora, for the summer. To me, he’s just going through the motions, as Zora is pushy and convenient. The reader can so tell that she’s not the one for him. Besides, he’s still hung up on Ash. He gets it on with a waitress while he’s away at camp. I was glad he was away from Zora. Besides, he’s still hung up on Ash! This whole time, he’s tried to forget her but he can’t.
Ash hasn’t been able to forget him either. She’s extremely mature for her age, since she’s been looking after her flaky, druggie mother for years. Her mother has found God, again, though...and a potential new husband, too. Who turns out to be Landon’s preacher father – an ex-vet with anger and controlling issues.
Things between Landon and Ash are tense and hostile, not helped by their simmering attraction. Until, one night, Ash calls Landon after an incident between their parents. Can their love overcome the odds?
I thought this was a hot read and they really cared for one another, and needed each other. I really enjoyed it! It doesn’t end on a cliffhanger, per se, but I hope there’s a sequel.

this was a quick read for me. I enjoy Celia Loren, she is one of my favorite authors but this book left me a little disappointed. I did enjoy the book for the most part but it had so much more potential. It ended so abruptly...what happened? how did they weather the storm that was possibly coming? I don't like how Landon was upset that his ex girlfriend cheated on him but he took her back but then he proceeded to cheat on her when they were in football camp. Landon is the star quarterback for UT and as such he is the town hero and knows that he'll be scouted for the NFL Ashleigh is seventeen when they meet unbeknownst to him; when he finds out he does take her home and that's that. over a few months their parents meet and decide to marry. at the first meet and greet of the family, Ash and Landon actually have a fight and hate each other and within a couple months they're going at it like monkeys. I feel there should have been a little bit more to this and also he was having sex with his gf and the girl he cheated with and then the first time Ash and Landon have sex there's no condom?? I expected so much more.

This is a story about two people who find an instant connection for a moment in time, and then reality interrupts. Landon is smitten with "Doll" from the moment they meet - then he finds out she is seventeen, and walks away. She's always in the back of his mind though, and when they meet again, it's due to the impending marriage of his father to her mother. Landon and Ashleigh (Doll), both survived less than ideal childhoods with a damaged parent but have grown up strong. Despite the fact that they are now stepbrother and stepsister, what they feel for each other won't be contained for long.
Most stepbrother romances, even the ones I love, are pretty lightweight. Quarterback Bait is not. This book provoked an emotional response from me. The characters are three dimensional and I connected to them. I felt their longing for each other and rooted for them to find their way to each other. The end of the book is perfect. I can envision this book as a movie. I totally loved it.
Sad to say but this book is not my type. Everything about it just did not have an appeal to me. The characters and the story line did not match. There were a lot of things going on and they are so random and I had to skip some pages.
The only thing I like about it is the dual POV. :)
Temptation should be her name, but he calls her Doll. The girl he thought was a woman. The girl he almost took home that fateful night.
Sex incarnate was looking right at her. Then he took her out of the party. She should have been fine to walk away from him, despite all he was. She could have forgotten him, until he said the words she can't stop playing in her mind..."Sweetheart, I'm all man. And when I take you for real, you won't be able to move after. You won't be able to speak. I'll make you liquid with wanting me. I will suck you dry and f@ck you senseless."
How can you possibly ignore that? Weeks later she still can't get him out of her mind. Easier said than done when his dad marries your mother...
Ash is young but she is a tough cookie. When her and Landon have their first chance meeting it was magical but cut short when Landon found out her age. When they cross paths again it's because their parents are together. Things are awkward and Landon has a sort of girlfriend throughout most of the book. I think the stepbrother element is silly because their parents weren't together very long nor didn't they actually live as a unit. Landon has his own issues to deal with but there is no doubt he wants Ash. Once they sort things out they decide keep their relationship under wraps for a bit but outside sources like to start drama and things get hairy. There was a lot of sex scenes - not all Ash & Landon. The ending was ok would have liked a bit more closure.
damn... I was really looking forward to this book! All the teasers that came out about it really sold me on it. I bought it... But I just had the time to read it right now. Oh boy.... Huhhhh.
I liked the beginning of the book. It grabbed me right away. But once we find out Ash's age. I was like ok... I'm really getting excited now!
Then bam!
Then from 11% on I was struggling! I hate when a MC goes with other people. It just bugs me and I loose interest real fast in a book.
Landon was with Zora (not Ash for a good chunk of the book.)
76% in Landon and Ash finally do something. but Landon still has a girlfriend!
Ughhh... This book was not what I was expecting. I also was not feeling the writing too in this book.
I wish this book could have been better.

What started as an okay read that had a lot of potential fell absolutely completely flat. It was like the author got sick of writing so just rapped the whole thing up in two pages if you would call that a wrap up. No character development after the first quarter of the book. What a waste of money. She could have taken this so far, through an NFL draft, a taboo relationship, the parents relationship, but nope it just ended with a completely lackluster and too quick "I love you". Don't waste your time. Wasn't even really a novella as those usually lead you to a assume there is a follow up or its a long epilogue of a previous book. Not in this case.
Ever since his mom died it's always been Landon and his dad. Until the time came that his dad found someone knew who also had a daughter.
Ashleigh is a bright student who got early acceptance into college. She didn't know the one guy she'd find herself crushing on would soon be her step brother.
After some events the 2 are brought closed together and seal their fate. Who cares that they are step-brother and sister!
Ashleigh meets Landon at a college party, and they are instantly attracted to each other. Ashleigh and Landon won't meet again until her eighteenth birthday, after their parents have announced their intentions to marry. This doesn't prevenT the two of them getting involved, and a steamy hot relationship begins. In the end, the sanctimonious interference of two people in particular. will have unexpected results. Wow, sizzling hot with and interesting twist. Fantastic book.
I received this ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
This was a great read, but not one of my favorites from this author. I am not saying it was bad, but am saying she has wrote other books that I have liked better. This book felt like a shorter read even though it wasn't. Ash and Landon met at a party and Landon decided he had to have Ash, until he found out here age and then their parents got married and they stayed away or tried to. In the end he is given an ultimatum, Ash or football? Want to know the outcome, then I recommend reading this book to find out.
