2.5 stars. There's no doubt that Darius cares for Taylor because of how he wants to take care of her but I wasn't convinced at the end that they were right for one another. Sexy together, absolutely! Forever? I'm not so sure. I always thought that to be the point of romance. Taylor had some growing up to do and Darius' reasons for staying away were silly to me -.- Regardless, when Taylor lands in some trouble and her connection to Darius makes things worse, he steps up. The writing and pacing were good. Still, I found it difficult to connect with the characters. The plot didn't resonate with me. Safety: Once they get back together there are no others but they were not celibate during their separation. No to rape. Yes to abuse.

He was the darkness of night, she was the sunlight of a fresh new day, together they were magical, but Darius had other plans for his life, plans that didn’t include leaving his stain of darkness on Taylor.

Taylor is back, battered and bruised from an abusive relationship and Darius vows to fix the damage his betrayal of the heart caused in the past. He is a man in control, what he wants he gets, but Taylor deserves better, even with all of his billions, he doesn’t know how to say he loves her without hurting her. The one thing he can do is protect her from his dark sexual needs and the paparazzi that turn their friendship into something lurid, or to be perfectly honest something they both want, a real relationship.

Tied to His Betrayal by Stacey Kennedy is a very dark and painful romance between two people who are polar opposites. One loves the life of domination, both in and out of the bedroom. One seems almost too innocent or naïve to be realistic. The entire story has so much potential for love and sizzling sex, yet, it never quite got off the ground for me. Too many sidetracks, brief twists and dark secrets from both the past and present all unfolding too quickly without the depth they deserve.

One thing about Stacey Kennedy’s writing is that she doesn’t pander to the audience with her characters, she seems to be good with her readers not liking or understanding them while she builds up to full steam ahead with the plot. I Like a powerful author who writes what she feels, but sometimes, the end result isn’t what hits me as rocking awesome, but that’s okay, this is still a strong piece of work from a talented author that should not be overlooked! One question I had: How come it isn't okay to be a millionaire, anymore?

This is my first Stacey Kennedy book and this was very well written. It was mature and the characters were likeable. This is the 2nd standalone in a series and I admit, I did feel like I was missing a few things since I didn't read the first book. I would recommend starting with the first. This is a series that while each book can standalone, there is a bigger picture being revealed in each book.

In the beginning, I wasn't sure if I was going to like the book. You learn right off that Darius and Taylor were together when he was 29 and she 19. You get flashbacks to when Darius broke things off with Taylor 5 years prior and I have to say, the reason was weak. He hid his relationship with her because he feared their age difference would cause a scandal and he would lose investors. I'm sorry but that didn't really fly with me. Rich men are known to have younger woman. I didn't like that he made her his dirty secret. To me, this spoke that he didn't really love her and she was better off without him. After judging all this, I kept reading and things started to make sense.

The more I read, the more gets revealed about what happened in the past with his father and his mom abandoning him whe he was really young. As the pieces start clicking in place the truth was, his father was a manipulative man. He had been whispering in Darius ear for years and molding him into a man that could not trust and could not allow anyone close. Despite this, Darius was still a good man and while he can love, he just didn't know how.

This storyline is a bit predictable and seems to be a favorite lately. The tortured hero who loves but pushes away until the heroine proves to be the one to break down the walls. What saves this story for me is despite all that, the author did a great job of still making me care about Darius and Taylor and I wanted to see these to make it. She also drew me in to the other key players in this series and I want to know their story as well. ARC provided by NetGalley.

Didn't really get the connection between them, but they were really hot when they were together. I wanted to smack Taylor upside the head multiple times, and Darius once or twice. And I was disappointed with the BDSM aspect of the book. He owns a sex club and is a Dom, but he wasn't very Dom-y (is that a word?)

Who's giving away all their secrets to the tabloids?

Ok, so......Tied to His Betrayal is an okay read but very predictable and cliche. Billionaire bad boy and the sweet down to earth girl next door type of story.

Darius Bennett can’t live without supreme control. A self-made billionaire, he’s rich enough to get anything—and any woman—he wants, yet he’s still haunted by a broken relationship.
Once upon a time, Darius was Taylor’s world. Now his fierce embrace is exactly what she needs to get back on her feet. But Taylor pays a heavy price for her sizzling nights with Darius.

Darius wants to protect Taylor from the media and her past relationships because he feels some sort of obligation to do so. At the same time Taylor is trying to prove to herself that she doesn't need a man to save her.

Darius has mommy and daddy issues which makes him clam up and become closed off emotionally. Taylor believes if she loves him enough he will open up and accept that love.

I enjoyed this book for what it was. It didn't grab me but at the same time it wasn't a book that I didn't want to finish. Will I read it again? Probably not.

“Five fucking years I’ve endured life without you because I hoped it would lead you to a better life. And it hasn’t.”

And during those five years, I fuck around with different women, frequent sex clubs, because I'm so noble..... Is that right, Darius? What a huge sacrifice you had to make. You're so strong. Thanks for sharing that with us. :-)

And please don't tell me I'm the only person who's so sick of weak ass heroine who so readily forgives and forget? Grow a back bone ffs. Jeez.

This is the story of Taylor and Darius, a second chance love story.

The story starts exactly from where it was left the previous book of the series, Bound Beneath his Pain. The writing is ok and the plot is moving fast. However the book was nothing like I hoped. I thought there will be passion for the second chance romance and angst for the actions of Taylor’s ex. Indeed there was passion but it felt kind of guilty. The intimate moments of Taylor and Darius were presented as dirty and kinky instead of passionate and intense. Although Darius is concerned about the well-being of Taylor, Taylor is acting without caution for herself as she is not actually in danger.

Taylor is the type of girl that I really don’t get. She is hiding behind her good heart because she cannot make decisions for herself. She really made it difficult for me to like her.

Darius was distant and cold but powerful and passionate. I liked him in a way. He tried his best to protect what is important to him although he couldn’t express his feelings.

Their connection would have been explosive if it wasn’t presented as a dirty, kinky thing. Another confusing part for me was how intimate Taylor and Darius were with each other although they weren’t together. It felt weird.

The end of the book was really nice! I liked how Darius changed! I also liked the epilogue of this book! It was fantastic! Of course it ended with a small tease about the next book of the series that it would be for Ryder.

The Good
-Good chemistry. When Darius and Taylor were together, it was easy to get into their relationship and as a second chance romance, it does what you think it will.
-Better integration of BDSM into the romance than first. One of my issues with the first book was the practical non-existence of BDSM in a book based on a group called the Dominants’ Council. Here, I think it was woven well into the narrative and yet showcased what seems to be the central theme, that these men are moving away from their clubs because of the love of their women.
-Likeable leads in Darius and Taylor.

The Meh
-Mostly there isn’t much here that feels fresh. Very familiar plotline.
-That lead to the “obstacles” to feel more contrived than genuine. It bothered me Darius dropped Taylor “for her own good” and spent alot of the book mansplaining to her and trying to make her decisions, even when he said he didn’t want to.
-Inconsistencies such as the timing of their relationship and when he actually bought the BDSM club, helped to take me out of the moment. I was more interested in trying to make sense of those than in the romance.
-Stylistically, I think the writing may be slightly different than what’s my cuppa tea. There’s alot of explaining of emotions and actions, but not enough showing those emotions and actions. The writing isn’t bad, just not quite what I like.
-Still a bit uneven, with majority of action and energy happening towards end of book.

description
Flaws aside, I liked enough of it that I could recommend it if you’re into just a smidge of domination with your contemporary romance.

I have to say that every book I have read by Stacey Kennedy has been so amazingly good. And Tied to His Betrayal is just one more in a line of bestsellers that will take your breath away.

The author has the amazing ability to tell a story that reaches right into your soul. Loaded with passion, deep emotion, heartbreak, and a depth of love so deep. it is like none other. Fresh and raw, this is one story that will move you deeply.

While this is a story that's part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. But why would you want to do that and miss out on the other stories that are just as good as this one? Although I think this one is the best so far.

I can see why Stacey Kennedy is a best-selling author. With a rich talent to tell a story like none other, this book will leave a deep, long lasting impression on you. I think you'll be hooked by the writing of Stacey Kennedy.

I'm generally wary of spin-off series especially if I love the original because I don't feel the author can reproduce the magic and for that reason I skipped reading the first book in this series. However, the trope in this book is one I can never get enough of and it convinced me to give this series a try. I'm glad to say that I really enjoyed it and any reservations I had about the series are gone.

Five years ago Darius Bennett ended things with the only woman he's ever loved, for her own good and since then he never let himself get that close to another woman. As a single and young wealthy man, he's at the top of every woman's wish list and a favorite of the tabloid but he has managed to keep himself free of both to date. Now he and his friends have become the focus of the gossip rags and as if the timing couldn't be worse, the woman he drove away is back.

Taylor Erickson never really got over Darius and no other man has been able to fill the void he left in her life. Now that she's returned home, a little bruised and with secrets of her own, the last thing she needs is to have her pictures and stories splashed across the papers but her connection to Darius makes for good gossip and as usual, he's riding to her rescue. Can she break through the walls Darius has built around himself this time? Will she survive him walking away again?

This book is chock full of drama and one reason I enjoyed it so much is because Ms. Kennedy kept Darius and Taylor the focal point of the story. There was a lot going on around them, but the attention was never taken away from them. It was all about them - their past, their present, their connection, their feelings and how they dealt with them. Did they make me want to shake some sense into them? Yes! Did they come across as immature sometimes? Yes. Did their relationship feel uneven sometimes, with Darius doing all the giving and Taylor all the taking? Yes. But it was engaging and entertaining to see Taylor become more independent and actually fight for her man instead of falling into self-destructive patterns.

Darius may have loved being in control all the time and enjoyed his kink and all, but it really was his way of avoiding intimacy and he needed to have his control shattered so that he could deal with his past and how it affected his relationships, especially with Taylor. Besides, a man who was sentimental enough to go to great lengths to preserve the past couldn't be as cold and unfeeling as he seemed to be.

TIED TO HIS BETRAYAL is a combination of emotional and erotic that Ms. Kennedy does so well and I'm now counting the days till the next book releases. Besides, I can't wait to find out who the mole is. This is a really good place to test the waters for a newbie to the BDSM genre.

This is Darius and Taylor's story.

When Taylor shows up at Allie's condo with the right side of her face bruised and beaten it is all that Darius can do to breathe. He wants nothing more than to kill the man who has touched Taylor. She, however, makes it clear that he is to leave this alone. This after he corners her in the bedroom she's changing clothes in.

There is still major chemistry and love between the two of them and there is pain there, also. After all he sent her away five years ago to get her to find her own way and be happy. Now it appears he drove her to this and in fact, she has been through bad relationships since him always trying to love and fix the broken. Something she wasn't able to do with Darius.

But after being gone five years that attraction and love has only grown and when the paparazzi start to dig stories up on the members of the DC and Taylor gets caught in the crossfire, Darius, is angry and feels like he is responsible for all of this. Allie being Taylor's best friend is saving her a bit although after the confrontation with the reporters Taylor is almost in shock.

Will Taylor and Darius pickup where they left off? Will he seek revenge in her name? What will happen to the Taylor he once knew? What will the tabloids uncover?

These are all questions answered in this book and it's a good one. I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

After reading the first book in the series, I was expecting a little more from this one. But sadly, just as the previous one it fell short for me.

Darius & Taylor were in love, or that’s what she believed until he decided to break up with her. To succeed, Darius had to make some sacrifices, and Taylor was his.

5 years later, Taylor is back. And this time he won’t stop until he makes her his again.

The blurb hinted to an emotional-charged story, considering the abuse Taylor was going through but I didn’t feel it that way. For me, the story was a little flat. I was expecting a darkish and sexy story, which in my opinion was not the case. Even Darius left me waiting for more. *SMH*

Until now, I still don’t get why Darius push Taylor away, if you ask me I would say it was a silly thing to do but well, that’s me so...

Overall, it was an ok book for me. But remember this is my opinion and that doesn’t mean you won’t like it.

Three and a half from me

I liked Darius in the previous book Bound Beneath His Pain but for some reason I failed to like him much in this one . Previously he felt dominant yes but caring , protective and strong. I just didn't understand why this competent man would leave Taylor behind because of an age difference . He's a man in charge of so much and clearly resilient and yet he's afraid of media attention ? I'm sorry but it just didn't really gel in my mind. I liked that Darius wanted to be there for Taylor in her hour of need but just found their interactions lacked a certain spark. Plus Taylor needed a good shaking at times or at the very least a girlfriend or two to set her on the right path. It's well written , there's some heated moments but sadly didn't quite capture and hold my attention .

4 second chance romance stars. Even though Darius totally didn't mean to start a relationship with Taylor, that's exactly what ends up happening. The two have a history and Darius doesn't think he's good enough for her but he doesn't tolerate anyone smacking her around, either. He does everything he can to ensure she is safe and can provide for herself because he can. The two have a pull that runs as deep as it can get. The two care for each other, as well, even if Darius tries to argue he isn't what she needs. Overall, the read is entertaining, sexy and slightly dark.

I absolutely loved this book! I am in love with this series. This author was so descriptive with this one that I felt every emotion....and there were lots! It was easy, sensual and passionate. I read a ton of books, it's my greatest pass time. I hate to work for that pleasure...with this book it just flowed. I read some of the reviews before I started this one and some stated that they couldn't feel a connection with the characters. I didn't have that problem. I felt a connection right away from the 1st book in this series. Other reviews said that they felt that there was no finality for the H/h, i didn't feel that either. I think with Darius, he is so complex that you had to read a little between the lines. I knew his book was going to be more difficult. He was going to be the one, out of the four, that was going to make it hard to love him. But I do. He was abandoned by his mother, or so he thought, making it hard for him to let anyone in. He just needed someone to not give up on him. I can't wait for the next book. This author is one of my go-to's. Every time she starts a series I'm hooked after the 1st book! Nothing will ever top the Club Sin series for me....but let me say this one is definitely my 2nd love!

This is the 2nd book in the Dirty Little Secrets series by Stacey Kennedy. I did read book 1 which I really enjoyed and I would say is a prerequisite to reading book 2 .
This story feels so much more of a dark and angsty romance than Bound Beneath His Pain and if anything I loved it more for those reasons. Stacey Kennedy really writes these racy and sexy books well. They are emotionally satisfying as well as a good read.

"Darius Bennett is a self made man who can’t live without supreme control. He’s rich enough to get anything and any woman he wants, yet he’s still haunted by a broken relationship. Five years ago Darius let Taylor Erikson go because he knew he could never give her what she truly wanted, his heart. But the moment Taylor walks back into his life, bruised and beaten, Darius blames himself. To make good on his betrayal, he vows to help her heal—in and out of the sheets."

Reading this book I really wanted to see Taylor's brightness and warmth break through Darius's cool emotional detachment and let him open his heart to love. This was a fast read for me and can't wait to see what book 3 brings.

.................................................................................................................................................................

Taylor is Allie BFF and Darius's ex. She is back in the city because her ex beat on her. Darius as the protector try to protect yet she does not want to. And they spent most of their time in this game. Taylor wants to be perfect in everything and she thinks that her parents will think less of her if they know what happened.

The book is about mostly: Taylor and Darius trying to trick the media..
There is much development or they dealing the real problems in their relationship. Darius cames as ruthless and cold in this book there is no soft side of him here. Taylor is person that he protects and she knows this and yet is blown away when she discover what he did for her. I was expecting some real dialogue btw after their break up that I may add did not affected anything just that "ow look how good man he is". And still want to see how good he is because I did not see it.

There is a little suspense about who is spreadind the rumors I really believe that is his Darius's father. The friends are a lot of more part in this book and a relief because even Taylor being a good heroine I find her very judmental. Darius never chase his mom to know what the truth behind she leaving his father , never knew he had a sister, he never believe his sister about his mom and never hug her??!!! Why I ask he had the resources and the author put a lot of traumas that is not necessary. For me he was just a man with very little personality still wanting to be the boy's dad.

The conversation between Allie and Taylor should be Taylor saying all this to Darius would make a lot of sense and their relationship wpuld be more real.

The second story in the Dirty Little Secrets series did not disappoint. Hot and sexy with a bit of mystery and a whole lot of emotion. Awesome read!

I really enjoyed the evolution of Darius and Taylor's relationship. They had so many ups and downs and struggles. I thought they had good character development even though it wasn’t super in depth, and I enjoyed learning their history together and their back stories. Darius is such a complicated man and I didn't get all of his choices or motivations behind them right away, but by the end, I totally understood and was a well of emotion when he finally opens up. I really liked Taylor and her strength. She was going through such a hard time and had a lot to work through but I liked her perseverance.

I liked Darius and Taylor’s chemistry and heat and hotness, and the draw they had to one another, it made their reconnecting pretty instant. More than that though, there was a level of caring there that was super sweet. I liked them but they both frustrated me as they were fighting their feelings, some making me a bit crazy with their back and forth but I love how they got there in the end giving me a great HEA.

The writing is really good, interesting characters and a great storyline. I thought this was a fast paced story, not super in depth but enough to really pull you in. There is a nice added element of intrigue and mystery that’s happening as well with Darius and his friends that is continuing throughout the overall story line keeping me guessing. I'm excited to see where that will go. The front half felt slightly drawn out to me but the second half had a great pace. There are great descriptions, awesome build to the HEA, a lot of emotion, and a nice amount of heat. Great read.

Shadow's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

Five years ago, Darius Bennet drove Taylor Erickson away from him, believing she would be better out without him. But now she has returned, bruised and beaten by her most recent boyfriend, and he's ready to commit murder. She is still the only woman he has ever loved, and while he has bedded many women, none have gotten close to him.

Taylor has tried to move on, but she has never totally gotten over her best friend's brother, Darius. He is still her hero, and she is still haunted by him. But she knows he can't admit his feelings, and works hard to push people away.

It's not helping that the local tabloids are targeting Darius and the other owners of BDSM clubs in the area. When they come after Taylor, she is totally freaked out, while Darius takes steps to protect her.

In the meantime, Darius is keeping other secrets, like the truth about Taylor's favorite places in the city. Can these two push past the forces working to keep them apart or will Taylor run again, even though her last flight brought her world crashing down and Darius' world to a standstill.

This was a fascinating read, with intense characters, a lively story line, and smoking hot sex scenes. Darius was such a contradiction, so controlled and cold on the outside, and a marshmallow inside. Taylor is a strong, independent woman, who wants to avoid the spotlight, but can't resist her attraction to Darius.

Darius and Taylor. they were the story I wanted to read the minute I met Darius. There was something so compelling about him. And then I met him in this book. And he was even better than I was expecting.

I enjoy second chance romance, the draw of the past combined with the "now" and the reason that they were not able to stay together is one of my favorite emotional journeys. And the journey with Taylor and Darius was a lot of fun, it was compelling and it was sexy.

The pacing of the novel was excellent, and it flowed from point to point very well without skipping things that seemed important. The writing was strong and the dialog believable.

The book is a standalone, and you don't need to have read the other books to enjoy this one, but I do think it gives it a depth, so I recommend reading the others, even though it is not necessary.

I recommend this book.

Received from NetGalley for a honest review. We meet Darius in the first book of Dirty Little Secrets. This book picks up where book 1 ends. This is the story of Darius and Taylor. Darius is the half brother of Allie (from Book 1), they share a common mother. His mother "left" when he was 4. His father raised him, telling him that his mother never wanted him and that she left him. This was his mindset his whole life. Darius is also a driven man. Successful, took Allison in when her parents were killed when she was 15, to his fathers extreme anger. He changed his life for her, a young man himself who didn't know what to do with a 15 year old, but he did it. His father would have had him put her into foster care. That was the beginning of a 10 year rift between father and son. Darius was driven to be a success. He needed to make money. He needed to prove himself, to his father, himself.
-Taylor. Best friend to Allie and the ex of Darius who pushed her away 5 years ago. He was 25, she was 19. Making money was more important to him. He told her she needed to go experience life. What she experienced was one lousy relationship after another and the last one ended with her battered and bruised returning home to San Francisco and showing up at Allie's . Allie is all set to move with Micah, so she offers her the condo to stay. Darius is there that night and sees her and is furious.
He gets very little information from Taylor about the details of what happened. Darius is a self appointed saver and fixer. Especially with Allie and Taylor. That said I'm not sure where he was during their 5 year separation... making money and overseeing the clubs he owns with Micah and Ryder. Taylor and Darius still have chemistry and it burns right off the pages. You can almost feel the heat these two share. The secondary story is the group collective is having a problem with the tabloids printing private information that only they know. So they realize that someone, somehow is leaking their private conversations to this tabloid. Ryder owns a Pub, they usually meet their and talk. The men use this time to discuss business and other things. Ryder also owns a high tech security company, which Darius takes full advantage of digging for info on Taylor's ex boyfriend and the rest of her personal business. Pivotal moment in the story is when his father shows back up (after 10 years) with a business proposition. He gives him a week to think about it. During that week Darius' world implodes. Taylor tells him she's done. Allison is furious over his father showing up and his refusal to believe how much his mother did want him. Darius finally gets his head out of his can and asks Ryder to look into the divorce. and things are exactly as Allie tells him. Story goes on through that last week and culminates in..... read the book.
Now, my take on this one. Darius skated on thin ice in book 1. This book he's one the top with his mood swings, over bearing attitude and the way he treated both Allie and Taylor. The internal dialogue we read just about tells it all about Darius. He's still climbing the invisible ladder trying to make more to make up for his internal lack. And he's obnoxious. He solves things with Taylor with sex. He shuts her out and anyone who dares challenge what he thinks he knows. He knows not thing one. He really got on my nerves in this book. Taylor, a tad weak here, but considering where she's been and what she's been through, she gathered herself enough to end things with Darius. I wanted to applaud for her. Allie is Allie and I love her. The backstory is wonderfully done, we get from all three MC's. Great perspective. Micah and Ryder also great. I felt like the book ended in an open way. Things were tied up a little fast, but seeing that Ryder is up next I look forward to that one.
I love Stacey's books and the Club Sin series is great. This series is off to a great start and I say start with book one and dive in. She writes a great story and you feel it in your gut and your heart. She writes real people. Great story Stacey!!

“Tied to His Betrayal” is the second book in the “Dirty little secrets” series by Stacey Kennedy. This time our MCs are Darius, second member of the Dominants Council and Taylor, his ex-girlfriend who also happens to be his sister’s best friend. It’s a second chance romance with a high dose of angst. It cannot be exactly categorized under BDSM as there is really not much exposure to that world.

Darius Bennett was Taylor’s world until 5 years ago when Darius breaks up with her. Darius wants what’s best for Taylor, to live and enjoy life fully. He does not want her to be tied to him as he believes that Taylor deserves much more than he can offer. But Taylor’s life does not improve as he has thought it would be. After two failed relationships where Taylor is used and abused greatly, she finally returns back to her home to start her life anew. Taylor’s decision again brings her face to face with Darius. Darius feels that he can’t love Taylor without hurting her. But he can do his best to protect her. This time he will see to it that Taylor gets the life he has always envisioned for her but is protection the only thing Taylor wants from him??? Will he trust Taylor’s love and accept that he wants an honest to god relationship with her??? Or will he once again lose “the love of his life”???

Darius and Taylor shared a special bond which did not diminish in strength even after the passing of so many years. So when they meet again Darius tries his best to stay away from Taylor but it’s easier said than done. Taylor needs him to protect her but she also needs him to love her and make her his priority. Darius has never shown his true self to Taylor. He has hidden his desires, kink and genuine emotions from her but this time he has to up his game and give Taylor his all if he wants to keep the best thing that has ever happened to him in his life.

Darius has abandonment issues due to his mom and an unhealthy drive to achieve success because of his dick of a father. He has always made his company his number one priority which he understands is not something the sweet and innocent Taylor deserves. So he cuts her off from his life. But his heart had never stopped wanting Taylor. So when he gets a second chance at love, Darius struggles with his insecurities and reasons and finally brings his walls down and lets Taylor in completely.

In addition to the romance there is an added threat of a faceless enemy in this read, who is trying to bring the DC members down while Darius along with his friends try to protect their loved ones from this unknown threat. Though the mystery is not solved in this book, it makes a great backdrop to bring Taylor and Darius together.

The pacing of the book is great and the plot had a great potential to be an emotional and angsty read but there were various Darius related issues that were not given enough explanation or exposure to properly understand their impact on the overall plot. Darius’s reasons to keep Taylor at a distance felt flat most of the times. I could not properly connect with Darius’s character.

This read was more of a tortured billionaire bad boy romance with a light-BDSM twist. Readers who love their heroes to transform from emotionally stunted to a “going all-in for love”, then this is the book for you.

Five years ago, Darius Bennet pushed Taylor Erickson out of his life and completely away from him. His reason-= thinking she would be better out without him. Now she is back in town, bruised and beaten by her most recent boyfriend and he is ready to kill said boyfriend. Darius has never forgotten how he loved her and he will never love anyone as much as he loves Taylor. Not to say he hasn’t slept around with many women but they never got his heart like Taylor did.
Taylor has tried to move on, but she never got over her true love Darius and she can’t forgot how she completely gave herself to him. He was her knight in shining amour , he was her true love and he still, to this day, haunts every relationship she was in which wasn’t many. But he still is going to push her away and something about how everything went down years go bothers her. It's not helping that the local tabloids are targeting Darius and the other owners of BDSM clubs in the area. Suddenly when Taylor gets put in the crosshairs, she doesn’t know what to do and gets very upset out by all the attention; that is when Darius steps in, steps up and puts a plan in place to keep her safe. On other fronts, Darius have secrets that he is trying to keep from leaking out-- like the truth about Taylor's favorite places she used to hang out when she lived in the city in the past. Will the forces working to keep these two together help or will it only work to cause a massive explosion that will completely blow them to pieces and cause a permeant rift forever?
This a such an emotional read. I hate to read about any woman being abused , which the author did a great job addressing. The romance between Darius and Taylor really captured me and the heat and sexual tension jumped off the page from the moment they were in the same room and didn’t stop until the last page. I love 2nd chance romance stories and this was definitely one. There was twist as to why they were apart but the ending made up for the reason. I cannot wait for the next book in this series, for I am totally hooked.

Tied to His Betrayal is book two in Stacey Kennedy's Dirty Little Secrets series. This one features Darius and Taylor. It's a second chance at love type story and it totally sucked me in!

Darius is a dominant and is quite a bit older than Taylor. Darius' sister Ally is Taylor's best friend so he has known her for what seems like forever. They were a couple when Taylor was in high school, but he always felt he was holding her back. Believing he could never truly give her what she wanted, he let her go, thinking she could get the life she deserved.

Fast forward five years. Taylor is back home after being beaten by an ex. Darius blames himself and vows to help heal Taylor in any way he can. When things pick up where they left off, both realize they have been miserable without the other, only living a shell of a life. But what can they do? Can Darius really be all that Taylor needs? Is Taylor willing to accept Darius the way he is??

I really enjoyed this book! From the first book in the series to this, Darius was a bit different that I envisioned him to be. He was a little wishy-washy in his view of things. I believe it was his family background, but in some ways he was annoying. He wants Taylor but then pushes her away believing she deserves better.

Taylor is much stronger and realizes Darius' hang-ups. She is a smart cookie. I felt connected to her and could understand how she was feeling. She felt like she was just going through life without Darius and when he was back around she felt complete. She just had to make Darius see that his life without her is just as bleak as hers is without him! She had her work cut out for her!!

Overall, this is a solid book within the series and with a little underlying mystery running throughout, I am anxious for the next installment! Who is leaking secrets to the tabloids???

This picked up literally where the last book ended. I liked it, but I am conflicted about it. I just couldn't get into Darrius' character. I felt he was a spoiled neglected rich kid who paid too much attention to what others thought about him. And for someone who could see how cruel and evil his father was he still believed everything he said. The way his father treated Allie said it all and I don't understand why that didn't open his eyes in the first place! I really couldn't see how all his actions meant he loved Taylor. He just seemed to be doing all for himself.

I loved Taylor though and I admire her for the journey she went on to find herself. I did almost get to the point where I wanted her not to be with Darrius. Allie and Micah are still going strong. Allie was giving out advice left and right. The story left much up in the air and again the third book is set up to go.
