This author looks at alkalinity in the holistic sense, working with the whole body instead of simply working on the symptoms. Therefore, the author covers lifestyle choices, herbs, spices, supplements, and superfoods. According to science, the human body needs a pH of 7.365 (the range is 0 - 7 is acidic and over 7 to 14 is alkaline).

Because I looked at the reviews before reading this, I searched into why some thought this book was a vegan diet and not an alkaline diet. The reason is fascinating. Some charts determine the acidity or alkalinity of the food eaten. Others, such as the father of the alkaline diet, Dr. Robert O. Young, are more interested in the food's effect on the body after eaten (its effect on the body).

Here's an example: Bananas are high in the alkaline mineral potassium, BUT they are also 25% sugar making them very acidifying when eaten. This author considers most fruits alkaline, which doesn't jive with the Young Alkaline Diet. However, as I looked around on the Internet, there were many variations in the Alkaline Diet. So maybe readers want to do more research and decide where fruits fit their diet.

I dropped this evaluation to average because the author did not apprise the reader that her diet was a variation on the Alkaline Diet.

Excellent in providing information on how to lower your cholesterol. I found it difficult to actually implement this new regime into my meal plans. However, as stated it is an excellent resource. I do recommend

Excellent Advice On Being Healthy

This book is simply stated.And gives you beyond the basics..Plus the entire list of foods/beverages of which are good/ bad. Plus there are recipes..that I cant waut ro try. This us a Great book if you have food allergies. This makes sense.

Okay but not totally factual

Pseudoscience meets ph.....some great suggestions....especially getting away from processed foods. I recommend further research before changing your diet so radically !!
