The Broken Veil

Rate this book
Rori Cantrell is a Dragon Bitten, a link in the maternal chain of women born to protect a nation of creatures most believe to be myth. When the veil keeping them hidden threatens to break, Rori must race to mend it or the creatures roaming their native Appalachian Mountains will be at risk of discovery and annihilation by the scared locals. Worse, the only known cure for a broken veil is the blood sacrifice of an uninitiated Dragon Bitten. And Rori’s daughter is the only one that fits the bill.

I believe in the power of stories. I write fiction and fantasy novels of the epic, urban, contemporary, and young adult variety. Fantasy is the backdrop for the philosophical conversation on the nature of humanity, the connection we share with others and with the world around us.

If there's anything anyone could gain from reading one of my novels, I hope it's empowerment. YOU are a force of creation and whether you mean it or not, you fashion your existence with every intention, choice, and action.

Embrace your power and wield it with love and joy.

I won this book in a Goodreads Giveaway in exchange for my review. I much enjoyed this book. I love reading a book that takes you away to forget everything else. I read it straight through as it is not a hard read. I love learning about all different kinds of lore, and this book did not disappoint. I recommend it for 'girls' of all ages. Thank you so much for the opportunity to read it.

I really like the unique feel of this book and am a fan of creature magic. One of the particular items I liked about this book is the inclusion of native legend.. The author clearly did some homework which adds to the pleasure of reading a story like this. Vivid and colorful with believable characters. I usually don't care for child characters however you can't help but like the way they show up here. Very well done and an enjoyable read!

A mix of fantasy, nature, creatures and magic. If you love strong female characters, this is your book. Inspired by Cherokee mythology and urban legends in North Carolina, the book is quick paced and captivating.

Fun contemporary fantasy with strong female characters (of all ages.) I loved the Cherokee legends woven throughout the story, and have a particular fondness for one of the creatures. Great read.

Loved it!

Totally new concept. I've had a hard time putting it down. I loved the excitement and anticipation of love and the thrill of suspense. I found parts a little repetitive but not enough to distract from the book.
