Club Prive: Club Prive (Carrie's Story) by M.S. Parker. This boxset is full of sexy happenings in Club Privé .
Gavin and Cassie's story continues and the chemistry between the two main characters is off the charts. It is sexy, sizzling, enticing, titillating and everything in between. But not everything is hunky dory in their world when others are working to conspire against them.
This is a strong 3, but not quite 4-star read. Although it started as a serial, the transitions are mostly smooth.
There are several good things here, but also some weaknesses. The H is oddly naive, and the h refuses to trust. However, the overall story is solid, and the sex scenes are hot and occasionally inventive. There are thriller aspects, but it's not a dark tale. It could have been edgier, but the characters and locations were well developed.
You may enjoy this more than I did. It's a good complex contemporary romance, that just didn't grab me like I'd hoped.
All the books in this series are about Gavin & Carrie. There are lot of steamy scenes in these series, considering the story line. It also has a fair amount of humor and suspense and action.
Book 1 Gavin is part owner in Club Prive. Carrie is studying to be a lawyer and is in her final year in law school and works as a paralegal in a law firm to help pay her tuition. They meet at a bar during Happy Hour. Carrie's friends dared her to go to the bar and get his phone number. He gives it to her to help her out with the dare, and it's his real number. She doesn't want it though, She gives it to her friend Leslie. They meet again at a new club opening and they spend the night together. She then finds out that it is an adult club, a sex club. There are steamy scenes in this book. When she see her room mate, Krissy, next she tells her all about Gavin, that he owns the club. That is a startling revelation to her.
Book 2 Carrie confronts Gavin when he calls her. There are things Krissy, her best friend and room mate, tells her about how Gavin got them together again. Now, there is a trust issue. It took Gavin a while before Carrie even accepted to see him. Little by little, in a short time, he tried to earn her trust back. He told her, no more lies. And then a bombshell he told her hit her like a ton of bricks, and thus, the cliffhanger to this book.
Book 3 Gavin explained in detail the bombshell he told her, and all was well between them. Until something else happened that was questionable, and then another within minutes. Can she ever trust him? Little tidbits of information he tells her surprises her. He develops apps. Carrie becomes bolder and bolder each time she sees Gavin. More mysteries appear, but about her boss' client. Her boss is a divorce lawyer. Carrie has met him and doesn't like him at all. Things are coming to light slowly about him. Gavin is a consultant to him. Another cliffhanger to this third book happens as she tries to get information about the girls in her boss' client's life.
Book 4 Carrie starts investigating what was told to her over the phone, hoping to solve this mystery. In the meantime, Gavin had to go to Miami and asked that Carrie to join him, so she does. Lapped in luxury with new clothes that Gavin bought her for the weekend and taking a private jet, she's overwhelmed. It was an unforgettable night, for sure. Then the mystery gets deeper into Carrie's boss' client, and ends with a cliffhanger again.
Book 5 What Carrie uncovers and overhears isn't pleasant in the least. She has to find proof. This is a mystery unraveling, and she overhears that Gavin is involved. This upsets her greatly. She thinks he played her through their short relationship. Her boss' client was after Carrie to become one of his girls in his illegal business. Everything comes to a head shortly after that. Gavin is innocent and was trying to find the killer of his first love. There is a lot of action in this part of the story, and it is frightening. The client is confronted. All is well that ends well. Everything works out in the end. Carrie has graduated from law school, also. There is a happy ending at the end of this book, but I can't wait to see what happens going forward.
Book 6 Club Prive French Connection 1 It is now a year later. Gavin is now funding Carrie's pro bono lawyer's office specializing in sexual harassment and sex trafficking cases through Club Prive. That's what he did to investigate his first love's murder. Each of them is extremely busy with their own work, and barely any time for each other. Gavin is starting to think they are drifting apart. Gavin was approached by a man from France that wants to open up an extension of Club Prive. Gavin and Carrie go to France to have a business/vacation there, and try to reconnect. They go to a party to try and get the feel of musicians they can hire in the new club, but things happen there. Carrie goes back to the hotel and another cliffhanger awaits. Can't wait to see what happens next.
Book 7 Club Prive French Connection 2 It takes Gavin and Carrie a bit to figure out just what happened, but they finally figure it out. Gavin meets with Vincent, his expected partner in the new Club Prive, the sex club version. The misunderstanding is straightened out. Carrie had a long talk with him about what she thought was missing from their sex life, the kinky part. He admitted why he had stopped that, but that all worked out in the end. They went back to how it all started. His partner in the club brought in a woman whom he said knew the business as she owned clubs. She was a little too familiar with Gavin. Carrie meets a reporter who wants her to help him with looking into sex trafficking in Cannes. He brings up a woman's name which is the same woman Gavin's partner brought in. Oh, yes, another cliffhanger as they investigate. Can't wait to see what happens in the final book of this series.
Book 8 Club Prive French Connection 3 Carrie could not believe what she was seeing. It couldn't be happening again, like back in New York. But, there was an ultimatum, and Gavin didn't take it. He really needed the income from this new club, but he wouldn't risk losing Carrie. Oh, things got out of order with them both, each thinking the worst of the other. They came clean, and they were okay again. Trust is a funny thing. You really have to trust the person you're with and believe in them totally. They took down the threat. There is a happy ending in all of this. They got engaged in France. They converted the Club Prive back into a sex club and made sure it was legal. This was a great series. I'm looking forward to the other four series of Club Prive.
Wow! What an awesome box set! M.S. Parker takes us on a unbelievable ride in this amazing series, one you’ll not forget anytime soon. Carrie & Gavin embark on their incredible journey together from their first meeting until they reach their happily ever after, If you’re looking for a super, sexy series to devour this weekend, be sure to “one-click” to add this set to your own library. I highly recommend this series & guarantee you’ll absolutely love it! I received a free Advance Review Copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
I really enjoyed Gavin & Carrie’s story but damn they had some nasty people to contend with. I was expecting lots of the sex & BDSM and there was lots but not the trafficking, murders, attempted murder, kidnapping, bribery... I mean it was all there and their relationship was tested several times. If you like your gorgeous sexy Alpha men who are in to BDSM and the young woman they fall in love with and teach them their many sexual talents then you won’t be disappointed with this box set, I’m about to start on Krissy’s story and from the snippet at the end of this book Devon is going to be knocked off his assholery pedestal by Krissy 👍
I have rated each book individually and here I will write my opinion on the series...
This series was great! It had a lot of sexy scenes and many believable problems. In the first set of club prive focus on one villain, and french connection on another but, they centered around the same issue. It was really great to see an overlap. These books are a quick and easy read. A definite must!
I absolutely loved this story. It went from being romantic drama with BDSM undertones to full on suspense. It is a real page turner that I could not put down.
Definitely one of her best series. Where it all began.
I have to confess… I read this series after reading M.S Parker’s other series and Club Privé and it’s owners were mentioned in several. It made it kind of weird at first because I already knew the outcome of this series, but I didn’t let it put me off. Reading their story of how Club Privé had become one of the most successful and well respected sex clubs was most definitely worth it. I feel now, like I understand the other series better.
The journey Gavin and Carrie go through to reach their end goal is both captivating and horrific. It’s one of those stories that just when you think everything is ok, something or someone crawls out of the woodwork to throw the proverbial spanner in the works.
Having read this series I also see the beautiful way that Gavin introduces Carrie into his BDSM world. If you’d have told me a couple of years ago that I’d enjoy read a series like this, I’d have laughed in your face. I mean, I’m not a prude, but that lifestyle had always conjured up sordid images and thoughts of revulsion and debauchery. However, having read this and other similar series… I get it now. Vanilla isn’t to everyone’s taste. Some need to add a little spice, others need a Carolina Reaper chilli to get themselves fired up. Its certainly opened my eyes (and made them water a little!).
Something I like about M.S Parker’s books is how she writes. There’s nothing contrite and she doesn’t need to be overly clever. There’s enough intrigue and mystery to keep you guessing and thinking through plot lines, trying to work out what’s going on, but it doesn’t require to much overthinking that you get lost in what happening.
Another thing I love… her characters. Relatable, rounded and real. I like to feel that I get to know a character in the books I read and I’ve often finished a book thinking… I’m not sure if I liked them as much as I should. Sometimes, that is the intention, but Parker knows just how to make you cheer for the heroines, swoon for an alphas and despise the villains!
If I had one suggestion. Read this as a complete box set not individual books. You will need the flow of what’s happening and although there are quite a few books in the series, they aren’t particularly long.
Thoroughly enjoyed this series, and I’m looking forward to reading even more of her works now that I know where it all began.
Club Privé was one of the first M S Parker books I read. I was glad I could get it in the complete series box set, i felt the price was fair to it all together.
Gavin and Carrie, what can one say. Carrie on a dare asks Gavin for his phone number and then the ride starts. Gavin tends to end up no matter where Carrie is. Carrie is a paralegal working her way through law school. She works at one the premier law offices in New York, when a big shot Howard Weiss comes into the office to meet with Carrie’s boss, Gavin saunters in with Howard…but Gavin isn’t a lawyer..it seems like he is what you might call a “fixer” or a “consultant” for Howard.
There is an obvious connection for the two of them but Gavin isn’t as straight forward with Carrie as he should be and that leads to friction between them. As Carrie ignores Gavin’s attempts to apologize, Carrie ignores him more and more. Finally she relents. Gavin manages to endear himself and Carrie lets him into her heart and life. We find out that Gavin has a daughter who lives with her maternal grandparents and it is due to the loss of his daughters mother due to a car accident that Gavin meets Howard.
Gavin and Carrie continue to get closer, and there is a great reason the sex between them is hot, steamy, red hot and as we found out Club Privé is also a sex club so it stands to reason that the sex just keeps getting better.
As the story continues through the different books the tension shifts from any that might be between Gavin and Carrie to Howard Weiss and what is he involved in. There are twists and turns around the story but eventually we find out what kind of terrible human Howard really is. Twists and turns continue to take place when they go to France for Gavin to consult on opening a sex club in France.
The story can be quite addictive at times, fast moving, then slows down..but over the course of 8 books in the collection we end up with Carrie and Gavin together as a couple. Yes, I have decided not to put any spoilers in this review but I can see myself reading this story again.
I enjoy reading stories about BDSM. I really like MS Parker as an author. She doesn't write smut. She writes stories with wonderfully developed storylines that are laced with erotica. Her characters in all her books including this one are usually involved in some way with social Justice. Carrie and Gavin take the cake though. They start out by finding out Gavin's partner has been shipping young women, some even girls over to Arab nations to take out their sexual pleasures on. Unfortunately, women are disappearing left and right. They find some of the women, nab him. Then Carrie opens her own place that deals with sex trafficking. Between her job and the club undergoing renovations, Carrie and Gavin never see each other until Gavin has an offer to open a club in Cannes. When they head to Cannes turns out the man they were working with has had a daughter killed by a famous woman criminal from Corsica who surprise deals in Sex trafficking. In Cannes they help catch the most famous sex trafficker and Carrie and Vincent kill another Corsican criminal family member who was going to kill them. What a trip! They do decide when they come home that the club will not be a dance club but a BDSM sex club. I really enjoyed this story. There was ALOT of erotica but it never took away from the story. I still feel like you got something important from it!
I have been a fan of M.S Parker for a while. I previously bought a few of the club prive books, but got side tracked while buying them individually. So glad it's a box set now. Great story that I would reread again. Overview: Carrie was single and working as a paralegal while finishing the last few months of her law degree. Her friends were also paralegals and trying to become lawyers, decided to go out for a drink. While there, hot guy Gavin, walks in alone and sits down at the bar. The girls dare her to get his number or buy all their drinks. Carrie didn't want to do either and decided to tell him about the bet and to get a fake number. But when she got back to the gym able and found out that the girls called to see if he would answer, and he did. Now Gavin was intrigued and determined to meet this mysterious women. Gavin set up ways to meet her and finally talked her into lunch. One thing leads to another and they end up on a date. A date that set them on a trail of love and BDSM lifestyle and part of his sex club.
3.5 stars, this series had parts that were good and then it was let down with some not so good parts. The storyline overall was good sadly I didn't feel that it reached it's full potential. Firstly, you cannot deny that these two have a great chemistry and initially the sex scenes were hot, however it gets a bit monotonous when everything in their lives seemed to revolve round sex (don't get me wrong, I love me some sexy scenes but really it goes way over the top here at the expense of the main story). I also feel that if someone has been sold into sex slavery in the middle east, the chances of a parent turning up at the American Embassy and arranging to reclaim their daughter is beyond unbelievable. I also found that parts of the story set in Cannes was very far fetched. Overall the story was okay just not great, I enjoyed it but felt it could have been about 25% shorter and still been a reasonable read.
Parker is absolutely one of my all time favorite writers. She keeps the story line alive and moving with plot and drama while keeping the passion and heat constant. There isn’t a moment of wanting to put the book the down. It’s always how quickly can I get to the next chapter to find out what happens next or please tell me there is another book and that’s not the end. What a relief it is when she writes these series. They are the most titillating. Full of very vivid scenes and graphic scenarios that make you feel like you are right there in the room experiencing it for yourself. I would be surprised if you don’t come away feeling a bit breathless, because that’s the best way I could describe her writing. I found myself squirming and holding my breath LOL, as Gavin introduced Carrie into his world of dominance and submission. That would seem to be a common pattern with her writing. The other words-hot, steamy, passionate, yummy, sexy, and romantic.
Gavin once lost everything that was dear to him. He never expected to find love again. Until Carrie walks up to him in a bar, and asks him for his number, in a dare from her friends. He actually gives it to her, and then she walks away from him. When they meet again, they both know that there is something between them, and they need to explore what it is. Carrie is a paralegal, and all her life consists of is working and studying. Can Gavin show her that there is more to life, and can Carrie show him how to love again?
Read other M.S. Parker books and thought this having some kink would be a fun change. It stared out great and loved the chemistry but then Carrie started to become someone that irritated me and Gavin was off putting and weak. The book should have ended half way into this story. The sex scenes were no longer sexy , just to many and so off in terms of the whole g spot and orgasms with little work. Got to say this won't lead me to reading the next volume in the series with her roomate. Don't think I could take it.
Carrie and Gavin’s romance begin with a dare. It progresses quickly into a consuming fire of danger and lust. Their lives dance through work into pleasure with fear, pain, anger and sorrow mingling in.
This covers a very real topic that happens every day throughout the world. Human trafficking is a painful and terrifying topic that we all should be concerned with and proactive to remove along with the people who use this method to undermine our society.
This box set had far fewer errors than most of M.S. Parker's books. In fact, the first book was essentially error free. It wasn't until the French installment that things started getting sloppy. This was probably one of my favorite M.S. Parker books, maybe because I could focus on the story without the distraction of dozens upon dozens upon dozens of errors. For whatever reason, I found it to be an incredibly enjoyable read.
I loved this series of hot steamy sexy scenes and attractive smart people. All of the friends, and close relationships with friends. Carrie's drive and hard work to protect exploited and abused people, and expose those guilty of doing so. Gavin sounds perfect for her and the book's ability to show that to us was wonderful. All the adventures and challenges were wonderfully written and exciting. I truly enjoyed reading this series.
Another great book by M. S. Parker. I can only imagine how hot Gavin must be from the image painted by the author. Whoa this series was steamy!! Cannot forget the drama and not just once, over and over again! Enjoyed the ending now looking forward to the next series on Krissy. Great read for those who enjoy steam, romance and if course drama!!!
The book had it's moments but also times it dragged on. The main female character was annoying at times. She always put her feeling first and tended to cause problems by not just coming out and telling the truth. Instead she would just be evasive. It was a good read but not great
This is a really good series, I love the storyline. Marcus and Carrie have a relationship that their friends envy not knowing that they put a lot of work into it. There might be some triggers for those of you who are sensitive to BDSM, attempted rape, kidnapping and human trafficking. The books are based on a group of girls that will have their individual stories in upcoming books.
What a read!!! I would say I couldn't put this set down, but that wouldn't be true. I would get so caught up in the story that I had to stop and clear my head. Not from the steamy parts, but rather the suspense as to what would happen. I loved the story of Gavin and Carrie!
Everything in general just seemed so repetitive. If I had to read “bundle of nerves” one more time, I was gonna freak out. The first half was so slow, there didn’t really even seem to be a storyline until half way finished and then it basically just repeated all over again in the second half.
No idea how this book can be labelled bdsm, a feather and blindfold don't make a kinky story yet. This is an older MS Parker book and quite corny in some parts. The hero is too beta, and the chemistry is lacking. MS Parker wrote quite a few guilty pleasure books of mine but this one fell through completely. It's not badly written per se, but my enjoyment was rather absent. D+
Club Prive Box Set (Club Prive (Carrie's Story) Box Set Books #1 - 8) by M.S. Parker. This is Gavin and Cassie's story, and my favourite of the Club Prieve series/world. Sexy, sizzling, enticing. Novella length instalments make for very quick and easy reading.
SPOILERS Seriously? She throws up after drinking too much and gets right back into bed with no cramping or bad breath? Not truly horrible but one big tease. No BDSM until epilogue. Sex trafficking sub plot distracts from the story.
Yeah, I’m reading a ton of BDSM romances. For some reason I thought it would be interesting to create a list of books centered around sex clubs and have been trying new authors.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Gavin and Carrie's relationship had plenty of obstacles in their path. They made it thru all of them and the relationship grew stronger thru it all. So did their love. :-)
Interesting dual series. I was a bit annoyed with the characters not 'talking' to each other at key points but if they would have, it would have killed most of the series. Regardless, still a good read. Huge M. S. Parker fan!!
