This was supposed to be FBI Agent Alana Jackson's last night undercover. The day had started with her laying in her lover's arms and both of them laughing about the positive pregnancy test. They were going to get married and have a baby. Mark was actually excited about confessing to having a long-standing affair with a member of his undercover team—no more hiding the fact that he was completely in love.

Less than 24 hours later, Mark stood in Alana's empty apartment staring at evidence he'd never expected to see. Yes, she'd been there, but it was obvious that she hadn't left willingly. As he reported the situation to his boss, Mark's head pounded with frustration and his heart raced with fear. He swallowed the panic and tried to figure out what might have happened to the woman he loves.

I wish the book would have been longer, but other than that it is a good story. More romance than suspenseful, but readers still will enjoy the story of FBI agent Alana and her partner in work and play, Mark. When Alana is kidnapped, the search is on to find her. I would say this short read is more of a cozy romance, mystery and great for when you want a good book to read, but only have a short time to take that journey. I do like this author's writing style, very inviting for readers.
