A very young boy in a yellow slicker enjoys playing in the rain. "More evocative in [its] use of language than many other board books....Mitchell's softly rendered watercolors...bring a loving family into clear focus." - Publishers Weekly

A short poem spread out over several pages, with only a few words per page. Incomplete sentences, liberal use of punctuation. Wonderful illustrations though. In fact, the text is superfluous; the real story is in the pictures. Too avant-garde otherwise.
I really like the illustrations, but there are very few words and they don’t even rhyme. My daughter still really likes it though (but pictures are all she needs).
A sweet little 10-page book featuring a young boy in a bright yellow raincoat on a rainy day. Simple words, the illustration is soft and dreamy but realistic. Perfect for little hands.
Elinor loves this one. I thought it was boring, but she makes me read it over and over again. I don't know if it's the oh-so-simple text or the adorable little boy in yellow, but it's a keeper.
