Song of the Swords #3

The Temple of Ardyn

Rate this book
It’s hard to save a world when your family is out to kill you…

Taryn banished the phantom, but someone, or something, is invading her thoughts. To escape the torture and bring balance to Aelinae, Taryn must do the one thing she fears most—unlock her Dark powers.

Rhoane swore an oath to protect Taryn, forsaking all others to keep her from harm, yet her independent spirit and lack of trust almost cost her life. Now, he’ll do what it takes to save the woman he loves from the Blackness growing inside her.

But there’s evil in this world, and it’s just as desperate for them to fail.

This is the second book in the Song of the Swords epic fantasy series about honor, family, and love—of what it takes to become someone you never thought you’d be and to find the strength to face your inner demons.

This book was slightly better than the first book, but way more confusing. This may just be me, but I could have used some reminders about who some of these people are, what they have to do with Taryn, or what significance some object has. Not every time, but at least a few times would have been helpful. I'm going to really suffer when the third book comes out and there's been a few months between my reading this book and the next.

We get to know the characters better, which was cool. They are generally interesting, particularly the empress. Rhoane is a bit bland, but maybe he'll get better. I thought his reaction to what Marissa did was very well done. It bothers me when people immediately bounce back from traumatic events and I'm glad Rhoane needed time.

Once again, I didn't feel any real urgency in the plot. Other than the various nefarious things Taryn's brother, sister, and father get up to, I don't really see any imbalance that Taryn needs to fight. Maybe she was brought back to that world in time to practice for a while before the bad thing happens? No idea.

The Temple of Ardyn (Song of the Swords vol. 2) by Tameri Etheron is without a doubt one of the best fantasy series I have ever read! 5 stars isn't enough for this book, not even a 100 star are enough.

I have had this book for a while but I deliberately held off on reading it until I knew when book 3 was coming out due to a major book hangover after reading The Stones of Kaldaar (Song of the Sword vol.1) and The Ruins Of Mallaqai(Song of the Swords vol. 3) will be out soon whoo hoo!

Temple of Ardyn follows straight on from Stones of Kaldaar so book 1 should be read first. It contuines the story of Taryn who is a Child of Light and Dark, she must now learn to unlock her Dark powers in order to bring balance to Aelinae so she must turn to her father, Valterys and brother,Zadkael for help but both have their own agendas and secrets for helping her, what are they? What is the evil lurking in the shadows waiting to be unleashed? can Taryn stop it before it's too late? And who can she trust? especially as there is an assassin on the loose.

Tamari Etheron's imagination knows no bounds. This series is original and unique. Her writing style is flawless, you will be captivated by the story from the very first page until you close the last. It's safe to say that she is without a doubt one of my favourite authors.

I love all the characters in this book especially Marrissa, Valterys and Zadkeal is that wrong? I did shout out 'nnnoooo' while they were in the Temple of Ardyn you'll know what I'm talking about when you read it but you'll probably shout out 'yes!' I love how Taryn has become so strong and that she's embracing her magic. We see how much she loves Rhoane especially after what happens to him that she is willing tarnish herself in order to help him. That incident was something I did not foresee and it affected Rhoane greatly. I really love the relationship of Sabina and Hayden and I need to hear the rest of their story.

This to me is a story of love, hate, betrayal, revenge and hope that will leave you wanting more. So go start this book now and you'll bee transported into a world that you will want to be apart of in real life and wish you knew all the characters personally. I know I do. What side would you choose. Light or Dark?

I absolutely LOVE this fantasy series. This is the second book in Song of the Swords series. It's such a rarity to find an author that can make the second book better than the first. The only thing I dislike about this series is waiting for book three to come out.

Girl, to woman, to dragon.....saving her world will take it all.

The journey of a young woman who is a princess of the world she now inhabits, but was raised on another is hard. But she will learn how hard it is to truly love someone and forgive all. As an ARC reader, I enjoy, and review, many books. Etherton’s characters, story line, and plots flow easily together with her characters, and make a grand adventure.

Taryn and Rhoane are fighting for their lives and the ones they love. They travel to train with Zakael but he doesn’t teach Taryn anything useful. Taryn decides it time to leave and goes to get Rhoane. What she walks into is Marissa glamours to look like her and a drugged Rhoane thinking he is making love to Taryn. Taryn threatens Marissa and Rhoane is broken.
Betrayals and hard truths are endured. A great book. I absolutely loved it.

I absolutely love this book! This is the third book in Song Of The Swords Series
Taryn's and Rhoane's journey continues and they face a lot of confusion, ugly lies, and challenges that test their love for each other.

Taryn has to activate her Dark ShantiMari in order to save Aelinae - but the only people that can help her are Valterys and Zakael, her cruel and twisted family.
Furthermore, Taryn and Rhoane have to experience the great pain of betrayal by someone they care - Marissa.

This is a thick book, but never did once I feel bored about it. It has great characters, great plot, great connections and some humour (poor Hayden).
The ending is a lil bit sad though, when her mother keeps defending Marissa😢
Can't wait to continue my journey with Taryn and Rhoane😉

I received this book for free through Goodreads First Reads. I loved it. There were some really big surprises. Just when you think you have it figured out, you find out that you don't. I really like that the strongest person in the book is a female, and even though she could kick ass, we also got to see a softer her. I liked that there was a lot of realism with the fantasy. I highly recommend this book. I can't wait for the next book.

This is the 2nd book in the Song of Swords series. Takes place in an alternate universe with good and evil. Took me a wile to catch up as I haven't read the 1st novel. Is about Taryn and Roane's destiny as a couple battling forces against them. Liked the action and a female warrior with compassion and strength.
