This series extra comprises four chapters showcasing the lives of Ellis and Cole, and their friends, who originally appeared in My Roommate's a Jock? Well, Crap!, as they deal with life post-college.
Mostly, we follow Ellis and Cole as they prepare for their wedding and as they face the challenges of finding work after graduation. They share a bit of steam and a bit of romance, but all-in-all nothing particularly memorable took place here, IMHO.
There’s also a brief chapter focussing on Rob and Russell (Ellis’s besties), as they say goodbye for futures set apart, but that chapter (the first of the instalment) felt kind of random when all was said and done, especially when it didn’t head in the direction I was hoping.
It was nice to witness jock Ellis marrying geeky Cole, but much like my reactions to their initial book, Cole’s woe-is-me personality zapped a lot of the potential sweetness and joy out of this one for me, which was a shame.
I’m also still kind of stuck on the awkward dialogue, which I believe plays a large part in why I haven’t clicked with these stories or these characters overall. But rest assured, established fans of this series (and this author) will appreciate this added bonus, I’m sure — I guess my already lacklustre feelings towards Cole and Ellis simply didn’t make for a positive follow-on reading experience for me personally.

That's right Cole and Ellis finally tie the knot. Life's not perfect but that's ok they're together and they're getting married.
This was a free read provided by the author to let us all catch up with the characters from her book 'My Roommates a Jock? Well Crap!' first off let me just say if you haven't read this Ms Wade freely admits that she is aware that it needs editing and I have to agree she tells no lies there and it's free.
While I enjoyed getting another peek at Cole, Ellis, Rob and Russ and some of the other characters from this first book I found this a bit confusing and that was probably as much because it's been about 2 years and well over 300 books since I read this one as it was the fact that the story at times did appear to be a bit all over the map and there we have it a bit of confusion. Still over all it was fun to step back into this story and I look forward to book #2 'No! Jocks Don't Date Guys' which is due out next month (December).

I think I would've liked this one a bit better if I'd had time to re-read book 1.
The first chapter about Russell moving to Japan, leaving Rob fairly devastated, I wasn't quite sure what to make of.
The second chapter was kind of hot, if not a bit unbelievable, regarding the amount of sex they had. And the whole back-to-back sex deal. Kinky, cute thought, though.
The third chapter was actually my favorite, with a wedding scene that I actually found touching, for once.
The fourth chapter, where both of them were basically entry-level job dirt poor, but out shopping for houses, well, with a good job my husband and I saved for *years* before we could do that, I not overly realistic, in my view.
All told, this averaged out to about 3 stars for me.

4 follow up chapters leading to Cole and Ellis' wedding. I have more questions than answers from this... what is going on with Rob and Russ? Did I miss something about Cole's job? The wedding was nice...

I thought I remembered the first book better than I did but I realized quickly I had no idea who these characters were any more. I had to go back and go over reviews of the first book to jog my memory and figure out why this short story was starting off with this Rob person and his inner meltdown at learning that Russell was moving to Japan after college graduation. I remember who all the characters are now, but I still don't get why this story started this way. It really has nothing to do with Cole and Ellis getting married. My only guess is that Rob and Russell will be the focus of book two when it's released. Maybe? [Edit: Or not. Just read the blurb for the second book and it has none of the same characters. So why was this here???]
The rest of the story is dedicated to Cole and Ellis. Their story starts with one of the more grossly described sex scenes I've ever had the displeasure to read. I want to scrub it from my brain. I'll have to settle for forgetting it as quickly as possible.
Thankfully, the rest of this was rather good. I really loved seeing how Ellis and Cole have grown closer together and how their parents support them in their relationship with each other as well as that jobless void that follows college and looking for employment that provides sustainable income. I had a goofy grin when Ellis was calming down Cole's nerves about the wedding and their life in general, and then when Rob was calming down Ellis just before the wedding. The ceremony was quite lovely too.
It was a little weird that we don't see them spending much time together at the reception. It was like, "We're married! Now let's go spend time with other people." There were a lot of minor characters introduced (at least, I'm kinda sorta positive they weren't in the first book, and if they were I've forgotten them along with everything else) which was also strange because this is a short story. Why are we spending time with these people we don't know or really care about? Book 2 set up again? [Edit: Nope. The MCs from the next book don't appear in this one. What the hell?]
There's also still the issue of the strange POV changes. Chapter 1 is 1st person from Rob's POV. Then chapters 2 and 3 are Ellis's POV, but Ch 2 is 3rd person and Ch 3 is 1st person. Then in the last chapter, we switch to Cole's POV, in 3rd person. That and the typos in this very short story make me want to hire this writer an editor. It's desperately needed.
When these characters are fun, they're a lot of fun, hence why I bumped this up to three stars even though it's really more of a 2.5, but the rest of the time I'm scratching my head at the writing choices. I doubt I'll bother with book 2 when it comes out.

I saw this follow-up story for a book I enjoyed tremendously and had to grab it. It's been a while since I read the first one so it took me a bit to figure out who was who and where things were at. This is a short one and brings the college students forward a few years to graduation and what comes next. I enjoyed getting caught up with Rob and his frustration that all his friends are going different directions and then Cole and Ellis as they hunt for jobs and get ready for marriage. Ellis and Cole are hot and horny guys and I chuckled over the remembered Cole snarkishness and Ellis strength and support that reminded me a lot of their early relationship. Seeing them hunting up jobs and a future home while still very much in love was great. Looking forward to seeing what is up with the enigmatic Russell.

Ask fifty people why they read romance novels and, and you will get fifty different answers. For me they are an affirmation of love and hope. Humans have a great capacity for destruction – war, hatred, intolerance, violence against children, school shootings, etc., etc. We need to be reminded that love is a beacon of hope that exists as well.
Those of us who are like Ellis and Cole and have found THE ONE to love and cherish are truly blessed. Wade thank you for allowing us to attend Ellis and Cole’s wedding. It was tear inducing, mushy, warm, and sweet.

Ok! That was short and sweet. I'll be honest, the first chapter just confused the hell out of me and I can only surmise that there must be another novel in the pipeline explaining Robin and Russell's behaviour and friendship?
That out of the way, the remainder was a very sweet introduction to Cole and Ellis' wedding, the days leading up to and the days following, their love for one another and the stresses and difficulties of newly married life. Sweet, funny and a teeny bit teary (happy teary) and great to catch up with the boys again after nearly three years.

In an excellent follow-up to the first book in this series, ‘Oh Crap! This Jock’s Getting Married’ offers glimpses into Cole, Ellis, Rob, and Russel’s lives during the three years following the events in volume one. I loved visiting with each of them and enjoyed their stories a lot! Recommended for everyone who read ‘My New Roommate is a Jock? Well, Crap!’ and wanted more.
‘Graduation’ is narrated by Rob and is a brief look at the watershed that separates being at college and protected by all his friends and “the time afterward” when everyone goes their own way. He had expected to see Ellis and Cole leave, since they had discussed their plan. But when Russell, Rob’s lifelong friend, announces his plans, Rob is rocked to the core.
‘In the Meantime’ is about Ellis’s experience as a student teacher. It’s Christmas, so half his one-year contract is already up, and this story is about him and Cle dealing with the changes of Ellis working, and Cole still not having found a job.
‘He Said “I do”’ is again told by Ellis, and focuses on Ellis and Cole’s much-awaited wedding a year after they graduated. All I can say is that it is glorious, and funny and so typical of Ellis and Cole’s relationship and who they have become.
‘Where Do We Go From Here’ is a contribution from Cole, and I loved hearing his entertainingly sarcastic voice again. I am always amazed at how pessimistic he sounds even in the face of the best news possible. Imagine my surprise when the ending t this vignette is rather more positive than I expected. Marvelous!

i didn't like it at all.
it was supposed to be funny, but it wasn't. there was so much sex that probably it was supposed to be hot as well. Unfortunately it wasn't. And the whole wedding thing? it should be sweet and all, i wouldn't even mind (too much) if it was all "sunshiney rainbow kittens" happy. In reality it was boring, dull, meaningless and annoying.

I absolutely loved My Roommate's a Jock? Well, Crap! (Jock #1) and when this 1.5 came out I could not read it. I sobbed. Many sobbed. It was given out to fans for free at an even the author attended. Thankfully, she made this available, for Free, to her other fans once the meet was done. Of course, this was gobbled up by yours truly.
Mainly, this story tells us of what happens before Cole and Ellis get married. Both young men are now out of college and have entered the harsh reality of life. Each go about making their best efforts in finding a job and have to deal with the pain of not finding any, not getting accepted, told they were potentials, etcetera etcetera etcetera. Cole especially is feeling the pain for his intelligence could not seem to grasp the simple fact his IQ may not land him any job. At. All. Then, of course, he's getting married. The pain of doubting the self and feelings of insecurity threaten to drown Cole but Ellis is the beautiful partner who loves, comforts and supports.
This is a must read for those who read Jock #1 and are about to read Jock #2 soon to come to our ereaders some time December 2015.

Oh Crap! This Jock is getting Married (Jock 1.5)’ by Wade Kelly takes place three years after it all began for Cole and Ellis, and caught me up with what they have been doing along with their friends and families.
Ellis is his usual optimistic self, determined not to let anything bring him down. He realizes Cole still struggles with the idea of being together and will often say or do things he doesn't mean, simply because he can't imagine why Ellis loves him and pessimistically is afraid it won't last; that it will fade and blow away one day. Ellis is adamant about loving Cole and will say it as many times as Cole needs to hear it. Almost unbelievably, their sexual interludes are continuing to grow in quality and intensity. There are some sizzling moments between them that are reassuring and helps ease Cole's growing concerns about wanting everything to be perfect for the wedding. He's still looking for something to go wrong, even panicking about the weather, but Ellis just keeps reassuring him, countering each concern with an alternative.
Their biggest concern as of late is the fact that neither have a job in their chosen fields, Ellis as a teacher and Cole a physicist. Cole's anxiety grows, making him wonder if all the plans they are making will ever be realized, but Ellis keeps asking Cole to trust him and, although it goes against Cole's nature not to worry, he loves Ellis so much he tries his best to at least act as if he believes him.
I've always been a fan of this series and these delightful vignettes only increase my affection for the characters. The stories give me a good idea of how the guys are doing and gives me hints about where their lives are leading. It's great to see their parents and realize how supportive they are of Cole and Ellis. It also emphasizes how very much Ellis loves Cole and how far he's willing to go to make him happy. Underneath all of his negativity and worry, Cole does believe and trust Ellis. He is still amazed by the fact that Ellis loves him, but he also knows he loves Ellis just as much, even if he can't always show it. This is obviously not a stand-alone book but it's a great bridge to the next 'Jock' story - ‘No! Jocks Don’t Date Guys’ - and I can't wait to read it. Thanks, Wade, for showing me that Ellis and Cole truly belong together.

Oh, Crap! This Jock's Getting Married is a short story in the Jock's series, best if read after the first installment. I don't recommend reading this out of order, or as a standalone.
Wade Kelly is known for light-hearted humor and sweet romance, and this story was no different. To best describe this book would be "Where are they now?" showing how distraught Rob was after Russell moved to Japan, and a year later how Cole and Ellis are faring in their relationship, jobs and living situations.
There is no major story going on, besides updating readers on what's going on in the lives of Wade Kelly's characters (some of which I assume come from another series, which I will look into in the future). Not that this is a bad thing, as it's a nice buffer between book 1 & 2, giving firm resolution for our main couple while opening threads for future narrators.
Why 3 stars? With the length, and not a lot going on, this installment is a take it or leave it type of read. If you enjoy reading more about your favorite characters, then you will absolutely adore this sweet, lusty, emotional short story. Primarily sex and the lead up to the wedding, I was distracted by the fact that I wanted more of what Rob was telling in the first passage.
After reading book 1, 1.5, & 3, and soon to read book 2 (yes, I read book 3 first, and then started at the beginning) I'm Rob's #1 fan, and I want more of him. I obviously have a problem with getting distracted when it comes to instant gratification. HA! (I used an exclamation point. Look what you're making me do, Wade Kelly. JK)

Primarily sex and the lead up to the wedding, I was distracted by the fact that I wanted more of what Rob was telling in the first passage.
After reading book 1, 1.5, & 3, and soon to read book 2 (yes, I read book 3 first, and then started at the beginning) I'm Rob's #1 fan, and I want more of him. I obviously have a problem with getting distracted when it comes to instant gratification. HA! (I used an exclamation point. Look what you're making me do, Wade Kelly. JK)

When I first heard that Wade Kelly had given copies of this four chapter novella out to the attendees at GRL this year, and it wasn’t available on line, I was not very happy! Thankfully that has been rectified! And did I mention it is FREE!
We rejoin the cast of My Roommate’s a Jock? Well, Crap! for a brief interlude between college and the events that will occur in the second Jock book which is due out sometime soon. Wade does a good job at bringing us up to speed with the continued story of Cole and Ellis and their friends Rob and Russell.
There isn’t a whole lot I can say in this review without giving major spoilers, since it is only 13,630 words long! Suffice it to say that the boys graduate from college and go their separate ways. But don’t worry, there is a wedding in there somewhere!
I’d recommend you read this book if you’ve read book one and want to know what happened next. It definitely is not a standalone. If you haven’t read My Roommates, a Jock? Well Crap!, then pick that up as well and read it first. In my opinion, you won’t be sorry! I’m rating this one 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. I liked it and it was, as always with Ms. Kelly, above average on writing.

Super cute HEA for our beloved Cole and Ellis from My Roommate's a Jock? Well, Crap! because we get a little short story around what happens in the year after they graduate from college and then get married.
I worry about Rob and Russell because they have problems right when they should be getting closer to becoming adults. I will by the next book in the series because this was a wonderful fun gay-for-you romance!

Very nice short story which Wade Kelly wrote as a freebie gift for her readers attending GRL and then made available to everyone.
I have to admit I didn't remember Rob and Russell from the first book but I read it so long ago that I assume either I forgot all about them or that Wade Kelly is building up for a new story. I have to admit that separation intrigued me and I wouldn't mind seeing more of them.
But in this one, my favorite part, of course, was the wedding, the vows, and the song. My heart was singing right along. Loved it.

A short 4 chapter update on Ellis and Cole.
This is a quickly written story (as stated by the author) and at times it does feel a bit disjointed.
Cole and Ellis are getting married provided Cole's doom and despondency doesn't spoil the day.
Whilst there are harsh truths (college degree does not equal job) there are also some leaps (two new jobs, one less than part time equals money to buy a house?).
But overall a fine update, though Russell and Japan needs expanding!

I loved the wedding..and I love touching base with Cole and Ellis again.
Was confused about the interlude with Rob and Russ...we never see what happens with them...why that section of the story was added? Are we going to find out what's going on with them?
Also, would also have liked to know what Code's job was that he was so nervous to tell Ellis about.
Cute story but had a few missing or unresolved pieces. Perhaps they'll be addressed in the next book....I hope!! :)

I was glad to catch up with Ellis and Cole and catch glimpses of Russell and Rob as well as family members. In only a few months, Jocks #2, No! Jocks Don't Date Guys will be out and we can catch up some more.

I think I'm actually more confused reading this but I'm hoping that the answers come in book 2??
This was a really quick read to get caught up in the time between the last book and the next book, I did have a hard time remembering all the secondary characters.
The author has stated that it is unedited and there were quite a few errors but since it was stated and free I can deal!

This was cute and sweet. 3.5 stars. An adorable couple of extra chapters bring Ellis and Cole to their wedding day. The first chapter clearly sets up another book to come though I don't believe it's either of the next two planned in the series. But a nice little addition to the first book.

It was nice to see Cole and Ellis have their happily ever after. However, I was hoping there would be more about Rob and Russell. After finishing this, I don't really know what to do with that one little chapter; I really thought they'd appear again later on and was admittedly pretty disappointed when they didn't. Plus, what about Matt and Darian?
