Excellent, informative, with beautiful pictures and manageable bites of text. A quiz and a glossary at the end, notes, weird facts and jokes throughout, it is a very enjoyable read. Highly recommended for A2/Flyers students. This is level 3 (Fluent reader) of the National Geographic Kids Readers, but there are four lower levels, and 'Chapters' for more advanced readers as well.
As you guessed it, this book talks about all types bears. This book includes a lot information on their eating habits, physical size, bears relationship with people, bears in famous books, and so much more. There is also information on the future of bears and a quiz on bears at the end.
I really enjoyed reading this book. These types of books remind me of my childhood. This book is classified as a level 3 reading, ideal for kids who are reading on their own and are ready for more challenging vocabulary and complex sentence structures. The font is bigger than the standard font size, making it easier for children to read. There are a lot of context bubbles like giving the definitions of advanced like poaching on the pages helping the readers. There are lots of pictures to help the readers imagination. I like that there is a quiz at the end of the book to test the readers new knowledge of bears. I think this adds a nice feature and helps the learning of the readers.
This book is a very very easy read for kids who don’t know what bears are. It explains the base of a bear. The color of the fur, where they live, and what they eat. It’s good for children to read about animals they haven’t seen yet.
This is a colorful, nicely presented book that will appeal to young readers. Not only are students given a rundown on the various types of bears around the world, but we also learn about the various threats bears face and the ways in which we can all contribute to the preservation and protection of these incredible animals.
