Almost a year after their wedding, and two since their daughter Fiona was rescued from a kidnapping by dark faeries, life has finally settled down for Caitlin and Edward. They maintain a façade of normalcy, but a family being watched over by the fae’s Rogue Court is far from ordinary. Still, it seems the perfect time to go on their long-awaited honeymoon, so they head to New Orleans.
Little do they know, New Orleans is at the center of a territory their Rogue Court guardians hold no sway in, so the Court sends in Wraith, a teenage spell slinger, to watch over them. It’s not long before they discover an otherworldly force is overtaking the city, raising the dead, and they’re drawn into a web of dark magic. At the same time, a secret government agency tasked with protecting the mortal world against the supernatural begins their own investigation of the case. But the culprit may not be the villain everyone expects. Can Wraith, Caitlin, and Edward stop whoever is bringing the vengeful dead back to life before another massacre, and before an innocent is punished for crimes beyond her control?

I enjoyed this book, but I didn't realize until I read it that I really like the paranormal romance genre rather than the paranormal mystery. Very interesting. Good read. Go read it for yourself!
Featuring the return (they were briefly in the second book, but had little to do with the overall plot) of Edward and Caitlin, whose romance I have never really been sold on. And unfortunately, the premise is that they're spending their honeymoon in New Orleans, so their cringy romance is front and center.
There is also very little Dante, but we get a lot more Wraith, who is the savior of this book. Can we get more of her and less insipid romance? I liked learning more about the League of Solomon, and getting more info about the different Houses. There's so much to like in this series, but too much focus on characters whose dynamic I find annoying means I can't really give it more than three stars.
Thoroughly enjoyable to experience Caitlin, Edward & Wraith interacting throughout this novel. An overall entertaining read with some interesting reflections on morality and responsibility of power. Fascinated by the epilogue leaving a bit of a thread that could be pulled on at a later date so will be intrigued to read more of that story should it get written.
My only complaint is that there doesn’t appear to be a number 4 in the series!! Great story, terrific characters, and a plot that just keeps coming at you. Definite recommend.
