They wrote A COUPLE AFTER GOD’S OWN HEART in one voice, as a couple, with slight off-shoots when he addressed men and she addressed women. Each chapter of the book focuses on one Biblical couple, and if you use the workbook with it, you can use it as a devotional, taking five days per chapter, answering discussion questions, and praying together.
I can’t really say I learned anything new, but it is written in a friendly style and I think that when the marriage is new, or going through the inevitable rough spots, then it would be good to have and read—or reread. Recommended. Book is $13.99 and 247 pages. Workbook is $11.99 and 137 pages.

Well known Christian authors and speakers, Jim and Elizabeth George have a new book and companion workbook for couples who want to improve their marriage. I really like that this study centers around biblical couples, using examples such as Adam & Eve, Jacob & Rachel, Aquila & Priscilla and others. There's a couple for everyone to relate to in this book.
Each chapter has some unique applications such as "lessons for the husband" (or the wife) that pertain to the lesson characters. The first part of the book focuses on these biblical couples and their story, along with various ways to put it all together and apply the points in each chapter. Some of the chapters have questions for self reflection as well.
The second part of the book has a special section which is titled "Thirty Days of Growing Together". This part of the book has devotional readings, for couples to work on. The companion workbook has lessons to accompany each chapter, which are broken down into five parts, to make the study more manageable for busy couples. Both the book and the workbook are written in an easy to read manner, and couples need only to carve out a few minutes of time to do the lessons together. I like that the study is easy and geared to help couples spend time together, without bogging them down with tons of "homework".

What a great book for couples to read! The husband and wife author team write an information filled book to help couples grow together as they grow in their spiritual life.
I gave this book 5/5 stars. I liked how this book was not just about furthering your relationship as a couple but also broken down to individual advice for the wife and individual advice for the husband. With tips on how to better communicate with each other to learning how to rely on each other during difficult decision times this book offers great advice. Using couples from the Bible and incidents in their relationships the authors show what we can learn by how they handled their rough spots. This book is written in a loving and sometimes even humorous manner. It is not judgmental in any fashion and the tidbits of advice are well worth reading. I highly recommend this book to all couples and even soon to be married couples!

Wonderful! Highly recommend to couples whether they are newly engaged, newly married or have been married for many years. Learned so much that seems common sense but gets lost in the day to day grind.

This book is full of good advice I plan to put into practice right away. This would make for a fantastic Bible study for a small group.

So, when we are short on getting the results from the prayer we said, does this mean we get the participation awards?
With that award we should be glad we got something?
I have a lot of questions when it comes to spiritual maturity and or spiritual strength, because; maturity is socially subjective and situational and there is no consistency of defining what is spiritual with out using an emotional metaphor.
