The kidnapped villagers from Vaniville Town are rescued, but a lot people were injured during the battle. X sinks into another depressive episode because he wasn't of more help to Korrina who had her key stone stolen. There's this point where X vomits and I honestly did not realize what was happening at first. He looks more surprised, and I suppose he would be surprised to be suddenly vomiting, but it just didn't really read as vomiting to me.

The other kids kick it into high gear with their training with Gurkin to get ready for the battle to come, and X figures out where Clemont has been by using the high tech glasses that he left behind. Then, he and Emma head out to Geosenge without the others (and honestly X would have gone without Emma except she happened to tag along), despite the fact that he was literally JUST lamenting that he acted overconfident in the previous battle. Does not learn, much? There's also this little bit of foreshadowing that I completely missed the first read through: Emma is talking about her new part time job and holding up the flyer for "Test Subjects Wanted." Hmmm, what's her part time job then?

Anyway, X gets into an altercation with Lysandre, which causes Xerneas to change out of tree form and halt the, uh, life force sucker outer machine, but they've already gathered enough that they can start their weapon of mass destruction!!! Will the others make it in time to stop it?!

Plenty of action, but it's not always clear. This is not the best Pokemon material I have seen.
