He has it good – a job running lights for the local party scene, a sweet, rent-free place to live, and a semi-serious girlfriend who doesn’t give him too much trouble.
Life is pretty perfect. Easy. Just the way he likes it.
But after an unexpected romantic interlude with a beautiful redhead, his life gets a whole lot more complicated.
Drug dealers. Police. An encrypted flash drive. A woman who needs his help.
Suddenly, Nash’s world is a series of complications – earth-shattering, life-threatening ones.
And his pretty perfect life will never be the same again.
Anna Cruise has been writing and drooling over boys since middle school. Lots of years have passed but some things never change...
Her novels include IT WAS YOU, IT WAS ME, IF I FALL, SET IN STONE and MAVERICK. Additional titles releasing during 2013 include a stand-alone NA, DOWN BY THE WATER and two untitled novels.
I devoured this book in one sitting. It's really good, has the right amount of action, suspense, drama and even has a little bit of humor that lightens up the tension.
What can I say about the characters?
Seeing how Nash goes from just passing through life feeling comfortable with what he has in hand to caring and fighting not only for his life but for the life of the people that put him directly in the messed up situation that, in the end turns his life upside down, shows that he matures and changes his perspective of the world he once thought knew and learns to appreciate the important things.
Lydia annoyed the heck out of me and I found myself wishing I could go inside the book and shake some sense in to her. But after what she went through, I could relate with her “Marching to the beat of her own drum, playing by her own rules” way of being.
Claire…as an older sister, I identified with her immediately. She does everything for Lydia; she even gives up her dreams, her life. Family love doesn’t compare with anything.
I never expected the book ending on a sort of a little cliffhanger; this made me shout the big NOOOO! But it’s totally worth it because it leaves you with the feeling of ending one stage and the beginning of another…which I’m totally looking forward in book #2. I just know it’s gonna be intense!
I am a huge Anna Cruise fan. Her writing is fantastic and I love the way she captures characters. Interlude is no exception. Her characterization of Nash is absolutely perfect. I love how raw and gritty her characters are. I feel like I'm living each scene with them, standing by while it all plays out. They become real people to me and I love that.
There was less romance than I normally like in this book, but it's been set up pretty nicely for the next one and I'm excited to see where Anna Cruise takes it. I do admire the way this author doesn't just throw in romance for the sake of it. Every scene has purpose.
If you like fast-paced, action packed books with realistic characters and a decent mystery pulling you along, then definitely check out Anna Cruise's latest :)
Interlude was my first Anna Cruise novel. It certainly won't be my last. Obviously, there was something about the synopsis that drew me in, but by the time I started it, I had no idea what I was about to read. And in a way, that made the experience better.
Nash is living a fairly carefree life. His house is paid for, he has his own business, and he has a steady girlfriend - most of the time. He recently gave his roommate the boot. Little did he know that would be a catalyst in changes to his life he never could have imagined - starting with a gorgeous girl showing up at this house in the middle of the night.
Lydia's appearance changes everything for Nash. She needs his help and asks for a lot of trust from him. It seems at every corner she has him wondering if that trust was misplaced. She has him re-evaluating his safety, who he can trust, and her sanity. Along the way, he meets Lydia's sister, Claire, and is pulled that much deeper into something he'd never have chosen to be a part of.
Interlude was quite the suspenseful story. There was mystery, a little conspiracy, action, and the smallest amount of romance. In fact, I almost felt the romance - at least the few steamy scenes - were unnecessary. Although they did move the plot forward. Nash, Lydia, and Claire's story was scary and sad, and it's not over. Ms. Cruise impressed me with this story. Her writing is fluid and she did well building the suspense. I was fully invested in these characters - biting my nails wondering what was going to happen to them, worrying at their decisions. I'm eager to know what comes next. While I wait, I'll unearth the few Cruise novels I already own and give them a go!
I received and ARC for in exchange for an Honest Review..
This was my first Anna Cruise book and I can't wait for the next book in the series..
Poor Nash was dragged into a dangerous situation by a woman who knocks on his door in the middle of the night. He finds himself running for his life from Drug dealers and dirty cops. Even though Nash was dragged into this mess by Lydia he feels the need to help Lydia and her sister Claire..
Interlude is filled with suspense, mystery, action, and even a little Love.. You won't want to put this book down once you start.. So be prepared to loose a little sleep or spend all day reading.. I'm so ready to get into the next book to see what happens..
If you are looking for a intense and edge of your seat read, then Anna Cruise's new book is for you!!
This book blew me out of my seat.
Nash Williamson is living his life, when out of no where he is involved in something so crazy, that is whole life is going to change in a blink of an eye forever. What starts off as a normal day, turns his life into one on the run from people he doesn't know and in danger at every turn.
I don't want to give too much away, but this book had it all. Romance, suspense, mystery love, and drama!! I loved every second of it. This was one of those books you do not want to put down once you start reading it!!
This was my first Anna Cruise book, and definitely not my last. Interlude was chock-full of edge-of-your-seat intensity. I read this in one sitting as I could not put it down. I was sucked in from the beginning nd loved every minute of the ride. There was intrigue, drama, mystery, action and many times I thought I knew what was coming next, I was proven wrong. This was definitely a journey for Nash, Chloe and Lydia. I can't wait for Finale so I can find out what happens next.
This was my 1st book of Anna's I thought it was a pretty good book. Nash already had a pretty bad day, then he made the mistake of opening the door and his whole world got turned upside down. In this book there is suspense, action, sex, drugs, all of it. You will be kept guessing what will happen til the end and then you will still want more, but will have to wait til the next book. ******ARC provided for Honest review**
Damn shame what happened to Lydia, but to be honest she brought her demise on herself and got others involved that didn't deserve to be in danger behind her vendetta. At least Nash and Claire found each other in the chaos. Two good people who deserved some peace and solace from there normal normalcy.
I have read every book by Anna Cruise and this one is completely different from her others. This was suspenseful and I always wanted to know what was happening NOW! I would read the bottom of the page first before I would actually read the page just so I knew what was going on. I am so glad Anna is back writing again!
There are times Claire just uses actions to answer Nash, "my mouth is on her neck, my ***k poised at her p***y, gently probing her. “You’re sure?” She answers by clutching my a** and forcing my ***k inside of her." I liked this book I can't wait for the second part to see what happens.
