Again another new author for me. So started with a short read of 163 pages.
Loved the book, the writing style, the two great main characters. Another action hero to get my teeth into in Jon Reznick.
This is a fast and furious thriller and great for fans of Lee Child, Vince Flynn, David Baldacci, Tom Wood, Mark Dawson, Mark Greaney and Brad Thor.

Action packed, fast paced, short novella read, but still finished quickly in two sittings, a great new character for me to enjoy, another great author, also another series to keep up with !
I liked the writing style, I liked the idea of ex-Delta members, one good and one bad...
I think the size of the book meant getting into the action nice and quickly, Deputy OF FBI also a great character, a tough cookie.
Recommended, four stars, have all three full length books of Jon Renznick to read.

Action packed, fast paced, short novella read, but still finished quickly in two sittings, a great new character for me to enjoy, another great author, also another series to keep up with !
I liked the writing style, I liked the idea of ex-Delta members, one good and one bad...
I think the size of the book meant getting into the action nice and quickly, Deputy OF FBI also a great character, a tough cookie.
Recommended, four stars, have all three full length books of Jon Renznick to read.

Now this book kept me turning pages. The chapters were short but full of energy. The characters were not your usual bunch of get-along-guys. The plot dealt with militia members and how far they are willing to go to get their point across. Jon Reznick, former Delta, has been recruited by the assistant director of the FBI. However, Jon doesn't play by the same rules as they go. Already on the job and he's put two men in the hospital. In some scenes the FBI appears incompetent in doing their job and then all the alphabet organizations are involved and never like to share information. This time the sharing may get many people killed. I enjoyed reading this story.

I admit that how much I pay for my entertainment influences how much I enjoy it. I apply this philosophy to movies (is it worth it to DVD, stream, or go all out and see it in in IMAX?). If I pay $20, I want $20 worth of entertainment.
And, what I think of Gone Bad is reflected in the above. This short book was free on Google Play, and I got a reasonable amount of enjoyment compared to what I paid for it. For the amount of space given to this tale, I will give Turner credit for turning in some character development.
Jon Reznick is a former Delta Force soldier who is between jobs, when FBI Assistant Director Meyerstein pulls him back in. Another former Delta member has been sprung from a maximum security8 prison, and Meyerstein believes that Reznick is the man to track him down.
Reznick’s politics are to the right of mine, but that is no surprise. The people I know who have served in Iraq tend to be, at the least, a little more conservative than I am. Reznick also believes the ends justify the means, and that puts Meyerstein in the positon of having to defend her decision to bring him on as a consultant to her superiors when Reznick goes too far.
As to the villains? Right wing militia fanatics.
I would possibly check out more by Turner, but it is not in my immediate plans.

With this one Jon really proved to everyone else that his thinking is miles ahead of theirs. And while he goes the unusual route to get there, it works and saves lives.

I love these books while hating the arrogant lead character, former Delta operative Jon Reznick. I hated him even more here He is full of himself and in this book was shooting people just because he felt like it. What is really unrealistic is that FBI assistant director Martha who returns in this book verbally attacks anyone who criticizes Reznick even though she acknowledges that what he has done is wrong, illegal and immoral and refuses even her boss' demand to get him off the case with a big mouth remark that he will have to fire her first. In real life, she'd be taken off the case or fired.
Reznick had been a Delta operative along with Herman Cain who has broken out of Leavenworth with both inside and outside help. The FBI and Department of Homeland Security have chatter that he is part of a domestic terrorist group with big plans in Miami.
The book is a true thriller and full of fast paced action. If only Reznick was remotely likeable.

Gone Bad was another enjoyable installment in the Jon Reznick series with an interesting and engaging plot.
After a top militia leader escapes from a maximum security prison, the FBI calls in Jon Reznick to help find him after it’s discovered Jon knew the man during his time as a Delta operator. Hunter Cain is a ruthless individual and it doesn’t take long for the team to realize Cain is planning a terrorist attack. But with no information on Cain’s target, Jon and the FBI are in a race against the clock to find Cain and stop him before it’s too late.
Jon has always operated outside of the law in his previous team-ups with the FBI, but he definitely crosses some lines in this book that the FBI have a hard time overlooking. Ultimately Jon’s behavior is where I had a few issues with this book. His willingness to immediately go too far was a bit out of character for him as he’s usually willing to play by the rules until it’s clear the Feds aren’t getting anywhere. It may well be that the shortness of the story left little time for Jon to come up with a good plan, but I still wasn’t a fan of his behavior this time around.
The mystery surrounding Cain’s escape from prison as well as what exactly he’s planning was quite interesting. For a large part of the book, we’re as much in the dark about Cain’s plans as Jon is despite getting scenes from Cain’s point of view. The author does a fantastic job concealing what is going to happen and I liked that once the plan is revealed, the pacing in the book really picks up leading to an action-packed conclusion. One thing I will say is that there are a few threads left unresolved by the book’s end, but that didn’t detract from the story in any way.
Jon’s contact at the FBI, Assistant Director Martha Meyerstein, isn’t in a great spot in this book due to Jon’s actions. After Jon essentially goes rogue, the FBI and CIA want to kick him out of the investigation forcing Meyerstein to defend Jon even though she doesn’t agree with his decisions. I’m curious to see if there will be any lasting repercussions for Meyerstein going forward in the series as it’s clear not everyone values Jon’s input the way she does.
Overall I enjoyed Gone Bad and I’m looking forward to picking up the next book in the series, Hard Way, soon.

This was more of a novella being less than 200 pages. It was good, but not great. Not quite up to Child or Baldacci. I think the problem was there was too much telling and not enough showing. We are told over and over how great Jon Reznick is, but rarely shown what he can do. Too much time is spent with him in a car with the FBI moving from point A to point B to point C. But that is not to say that this is a bad book, because it isn't. The bad guy is really bad. Someone that you can really hate and long to see him get what is coming to him. There is also a lot of suspense. The plot is that former Delta Force soldier and militia leader Hunter Cain escapes Ft. Leavenworth with the help from the Arian Brotherhood. It is feared that they are planning a Timothy McVeigh type attack in the U.S. Jon Reznick, another former Delta Force member who served with Cain is called in by an FBI assistant director to assist in the manhunt. Reznicks methods do not sit well with the FBI hierarchy as we are repeatedly told. As they travel toward their destination we really see more of Cain's actions that we do Reznick's and it is quite obvious that Cain is a very dangerous and committed criminal. I just wish that we could have seen more of Reznick. This is a suspenseful action thriller and worth reading, I just wasn't blown away by it.

The book was good, but I struggled with the profanity. I'm sure that's how our military talks, but I didn't see it as necessary. The storyline would not have been made worse without the language. That being said, I enjoyed the book overall. You follow the FBI and their hunt of a driven ex-Delta fighter who has plans for a terrorist plot. They recruit a former soldier who served alongside of this man to bring him in. It's a fast paced book and a wild ending.

Short and Sweet
A short manhunt. The FBI using a man that the higher ups think is crazy. Well I would have like to.have seen more of his crazy. Maybe a little more action. Maybe a little more character development. But the book wasn't all bad. It was quick, interesting, and had a few surprises.

Wow ! Another Jon Reznick kicks ass book ! If you're an action junkie with a passion for get the job done no matter what you should be reading this series of books from J. B. Turner. These are always page turners that you can't put down and leave you exhausted by the end !

This was an okay book...
Gone bad did not have me "on edge" . It was good, I feel like the author wanted to be more like James Patterson. J. B Turner's other books such as: Dark Waters is a lot better than this one

Thriller
Very fast paced read. Starts out quick, hooks you, then off to the races. No in depth character studies, just enough info on each to get story going.

Two Delta Operators-One good the other bad to the bone
Story so intriguing. Violent action. Kept me on pins and needles. FBI led by a determined woman director to stop a major start to another revolution war. Highly recommend.

Didn't know if I would like this book but it is a page turner. I told my son he needed to read. If you were in the military you will like this series. Jon Reznicks stories a special forces (Delta operator). This story was a good thriller/mystery.

Not bad
Strong possibilities for a story that just failed to develop into a real page turner. Many pages of irrelevant dialogue that leaves you with the question, why? Needs some work and then rewritten.

Fateful Encounter
This story is fast paced, but repetitive. His book, Dark Waters is more mysterious with its twists and turns. Still good reading.

This was my first Turner book, but definitely not my last. It was non- stop action and got the reader involved from the onset. This novella was good, fast, explosive reading.

Excellent storyline.
Fast paced from start to finish. Would have enjoyed this book a lot more without the foul language. Author is excellent storyteller.
