In life, they’re at odds. On e-mail, they’re in love.

Curvy chocolatier Amy has finally found the perfect storefront. What she doesn’t know is that her mysterious landlord-to-be is a billionaire bear shifter—and she is his fated mate. Trouble is? Zach's the reason she's so goddamn desperate in the first place. It would be easier to hate him if he didn't melt her panties, but she could never trust the man who is making her life hell.

Grizzly bear shifter Zach doesn't have time to court Amy the way she deserves. He's too busy protecting his billionaire family from savage wolf shifters attacking their properties across the Pacific Northwest. He knows she wants him, and he helped her business, so why won't she trust that he's serious about her? Zach is a shifter who knows how to get what he wants, but convincing Amy of his love might be the biggest challenge he's ever faced.

A STANDALONE novella for readers who love their romance with sexy shifters and sassy women. You've Got Bear is the first book in Shifters In Seattle, a series of standalone, paranormal romances.

You've Got Bear is the first book in the new series called There's Something About Shifters by Carrie de Croix. Chocolatier Amy thought she had everything: a business she loved and the perfect location. However, when Zach Campbell's company bought the building that housed her shop, things changed for Amy. Zach Campbell believed that Amy was the one he wanted for his life partner but did not have time to court Amy the way she deserved. So, when the opportunity arose in the form of protecting Amy, she saw this opportunity to get close to Amy and show her that he was suitable for her. The readers of You've Got Bear will continue to follow Zach Campbell and Amy to discover what happens.

You've Got Bear is a sweet paranormal romance by Truli Thorne. It is the first book I have read by Truli Thorne, and I wonder if I would enjoy it. However, I was wrong; I engaged with the characters and story from the first page until the end. I love Truli Thorne's portrayal of her characters and their interaction with each other. You've Got Bear is well-written and researched. I like Truli Thorne's description of the settings of You've Got Bear, which complemented the book's plot.

I recommend this book.

I feel like I was reading a different book than all the other reviewers because i found this ridiculous. Everything about it was over the top. I should've known better when a grown ass woman decided to date someone because they looked like Draco Malfoy-a teenaged fictional character. That's creepy dude. But I tried really hard to get into it and really only ended up wasting an hour to end up at a DNF. The writing felt a little immature in a way. Amy has a whole lot of psychological baggage but no one piece of it was fleshed out so it made it seem like someone just dumped every insecure girl cliche onto her. Mother died at a young age, daddy issues, dated a jerk, insecure about her body type blah blah blah blech. Zach was ridiculously over the top. Like I get that when shifters have a fated mate they wanna move on that and be protective and all but if a dude acted like that towards me i'd be calling the loony bin. Ruin my business then start touching me without my permission, posing as someone else online....that's some creepy shit. And he doesn't really seem to acknowledge amy as a person. He wants to mate her and have lots of cubs...never really stopped to wonder if maybe that wasnt her thing just full steam ahead with his plan. But its ok because suddenly she luuuuvs him. It's been like 3 days and they've spent a couple hours together wut? Like him ok he's predestined and all but she's not and what has she really found to love about him. He's big and pretty but that's lust not love. He made her the perfect new store but she wouldnt have needed it if he and his family hadnt shut her other store down. That's pretty much it. Where I called quits though was something that really pushes my buttons. A character (won't say who for spoilers) attempts to rape the heroine. When it occurred it was weird and out of character for that person but I chalked it up to me not clicking with the writing. Couple chapters later and they blame it on some shifter disease but it's ok because "he'll apologize for everything" No that is some rape apologist bull shit and I am not about that. Even in a fake world where something like that exists I'm still not ok with them excusing behavior like that for what...temporary insanity kinda defense? You still lock people up for that shit just in an institution instead of jail. I probably still wouldn't have finished it because it was more cheesy and over the top than even I can handle but when that happened that was my oh hell no point.

As far as I know Truli Thorne is a new author. You would of never guessed it by reading her book. The author did an amazing job. I had received this book for an honest review and have to say I so enjoyed the book. I cannot wait to see what other stories Truli Thorne brings out in the near future.
Amy was this beautiful plus size woman. She loved her little store “Peace, Love, and Chocolate”. Now she was having to close her store. It could not of been more painful if you would of ripped her heart out. This was her love, her passion, her dreams, and her livelihood. She was angry at the Harris International for buying the mall and causing all the stores to close.

There was this creepy guy by the name of Mitchell that was a little obsessed with her. He was a true jerk. He was the mall cop and let the title go to his head. He did not care to let Amy know that she was fat and she should be thankful that he looked her way. Amy should of just punched him in the nose the moment she met him.

Mitchell had introduced Amy to this nice looking guy by the name of Zach. Though Amy found Zach highly attracted it did not take long for her to tell him off after she found out he was the reason she was losing her store.

Zach Harris was this nice looking bear shifter. He knew the moment that he met this beautiful feisty woman by the name of Amy that she was his fated mate. I love how Zach’s bear was simply minded and was demanding Zach of what to do, which was to claim and protect. Problem was Amy was not making it easy.

Seems like Zach and Amy are in the middle of trouble. Someone has it out for the Harris family it seems. Now it seems to directed at Amy. Can Zach make things right with Amy? Does Amy’s heart belong to another? Can Zach keep Amy safe?

This was a great book and look forward to the next book in the series.

It was amazing, I received it late yesterday & finished it early this morning. The story line flowed seamlessly, you became one with what you were reading. I never wanted it to end. It's one of those books that you want to go on forever, yet you want to find out what's going to happen next. I can't wait for the next installment. I recommend this book.

Sweet Chocolate

I wasn't sure what to expect when I started reading this, as it's the 1st book I've read by Truli Thorne. But I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed reading her first installment of Shifter in Seattle and look forward to reading the 2nd book!
Amy had an extremely rough start to her chocolate sweet store, and finding out that bearshifters do exist. But in the end it was nothing but sweet yummy goodness!

1. You've Got Bear
2. Bear With Benefits
3. Bear Actually
4. It Happened One Bear
5. About a Bear

They also come in a one volume set titled "Shifters in Seattle"

I came across this series while looking for one about wolf shifters I had read years ago and could not resist. Now I am glad I didn't.

Peace, Love and Chocolate had been Amy's world since her mother's death and her dream since she was a young girl. Today was the end of that dream. The mall where her shop was located had been sold and the new owner everyone 30 days to vacate. It was to become a "Virtual Mall" instead. Amy was so close to falling apart. Then she meets Zach and things look better already. Then she fines out he's Zach Harris, part of Harris Enterprises, the people shutting down her shop!

As Zach coaxes Amy out she falls for him more and more, but will she still love him when she discover what he is. Now there is a disease spreading through his people can the find a cure before another is killed or dies? Romantic, humorous and suspenseful. A fairly quick read that moves fast but also leave you panting for more. Vivid characters some expected twist and some not so expected. This is not a story you will be in a hurry to put down.

My rating of "You've Got Bear - Shifters in Seattle Book 1 - BBW Bear Shifter Paranormal Romance" is 4.5 out of 5 stars.

3.5-4 stars

This was a pretty enjoyable story. I liked both Amy and Zach and liked their story. This is the first story I've read by this author but I liked it well enough that I'm sure I'll be trying more of her work in the future.

Amy is a chocolatier that owns a small shop to sell her chocolate out of. Unfortunately, the mall that Amy opened her store in was sold to a development company that is closing it down and renovating it into something else. Amy saved and worked hard to open her store and is understandably upset when the story begins.

Zach is a bear shifter that works with his family to run a real estate development company. Wolf and Bear shifters both exist in this world and bears want to come out to the public while wolves don't. Zach and others like him are doing business with humans and integrating into normal human society so that sometime down the road, the shifters can come out. Zach's main focus is helping his family and finding his destined mate.

Poor Zach....to be touring one of the properties he just bought and he finds a woman there that is his mate! He's so happy that he's finally found her...just to have her realize who he is and be horrified because he's the one that just put her out of business... Yeah, I felt bad for him. Not that I didn't feel bad for Amy as well. The intro of the book that describes her angst over losing her story really had me disliking Zach at first...until I met him. Ack! What a predicament!

Obviously, things get worked out but Zach does have to work at it to get past Amy's initial dislike of his because of their "situation". Amy is also pretty confused about why she feels an almost uncontrollable attraction to this man that she should hate, not realizing it is a natural reaction to because she's his mate. It takes some time and trouble but things do work out nicely (with a very obvious movies reference) and in the end, Amy and Zach are together and heading for a HEA.

This was a pretty enjoyable story. I liked Amy and while she had some imperfections, she was a good heroine overall. I liked Zach very much once I met him in the story. The story was short and while it didn't feel stilted, I wouldn't have minded it being a bit longer. Still, overall this was a pretty good story with characters I liked so I'd recommend it. :D

This is a fast past read.

Amy is losing her chocolate shop were she make chocolate candies to edible lotions. Zack is the one that's putting her out of business when his family company bought the mall. Will Zach be able to prove to Amy that she can trust him to enough to become his mate?

The ideas moved very quickly without a clear segway. Just creating a new paragraph isn't enough. When you change scenes, readers need some form of visual aid. This was like a 70% completed story. There was and outline, with some completed scenes, and a lot of gaps.

**4 out of 5 Hearts from Cariad Books.**

Bears, chocolate, and love, oh my! That's how that saying goes, right? LOL Well that recipe works for this book. We have Amy, human, curvy, and a chocolatier. Amy is not a happy camper. The building where she has a rental space has been bought and will be used to house YouTube studios. Apparently, that's an actual thing, which blows my mind. As Amy is packing up her store, in comes Mitchell. He's a security guard for the building and her ex-boyfriend. *cough cough skeevy jerkface* While Amy is trying to make him go away, she's rescued by Superman, err, I mean Zach. Gooey eyes are happening, flirting starts, naughty thoughts are had, and then Zach's full identity is revealed and it's not Clark Kent. Bummer.

Zach is a Harris, as in Harris Enterprises. *big disappointed sigh* He's part of the company that killed Amy's dream. Too dramatic? The thing is, Amy likes the personal touch of having an actual store for her business and her finances are too tight to afford a new decent location. Now I know you're thinking there's no way Zach and Amy could make a relationship work. But there's one huge factor in Zach's favor...Amy is his mate. (Psst...Zach is the bear part of the equation. LOL)

Zach is a good guy and wants his mate happy, which means resuscitating Amy's dream by finding her a new location. It just so happens that Zach and Amy have been discussing a rental agreement, yet they didn't know right away that they were talking to each other. I love that we got to see the conversations between them. They were able to get to know each other without the stigma of Zach's family name hanging over him.

Unfortunately, while one problem is being resolved, another one is making itself known. It seems there's been some issues in the local wolf pack and they're spilling over onto our couple. This issue introduces us to Liam, a wolf shifter and (plot twist) Zach's Aunt Diana's mate. There's a history between this couple and we get a little insight into that while we're rooting for Zach and Amy's future. Can Zach and Amy overcome their obstacles? Will Zach ever get to try Amy's chocolate body lotion? LOL *read the book and you'll get that reference* Will Liam and Diana get a second chance at love? I'm looking forward to book two. We'll get the scoop on Steph, Amy's nurse friend and her co-worker Rex Harris, M.D., Zach's uncle. It seems there's more to their story than we know. Think they play Doctor? ;-) *snicker*

You've Got Bear Truli Thorne

Reviewed by SFF Dragon

Despite their initial problems, like Zach destroying Amy's business, these true mates get their HEA. I loved it and want more.

'You've Got Bear' by Truli Thorne is the first book in her brand new Shifters In Seattle series and I was given a copy by the author in exchange for an honest review. This is the first book I've read by her so I had no idea what to expect. I was totally absorbed in this short stand alone story from the first page to the last and I absolutely loved it. I will definitely be reading more by this author.

Thanks to Harris International, Amy's lifelong dream of owning her own store has just gone down the drain. The small North Seattle Mall is being closed by the new owners so 'Peace, Love and Chocolate' (I love that name) is closing with it. She's made numerous failed attempts to contact Zach Harris, the guy who sent the letter a month ago telling her she'd have to close this weekend, so when she discovers he's her last customer, she lets him know exactly how she feels.

Zach Harris has found his true mate, and even better, Amy makes delicious chocolates. His bear wants to claim her now, but there's a small problem. He's taken away her livelihood and now he's got to fix it, but he's got other problems to deal with including a virus that's attacking shifters and a vandal who's getting more dangerous.

I don't want to give any spoilers but this story has humour, sad bits, happy bits, a little action and a little steam, some terrific characters, a good on-going background story which is a bit different, and a crime wave which includes vandalism and arson. Amy sells all things chocolate and I love her motto 'if you can't eat it, you can slather it all over your body.....' no, you'll have to read the book. Amy and Zach both have kind hearts and they get their happily ever after but the ending seemed a little abrupt and I would've liked some kind of epilogue, but on the whole, I absolutely loved this story and can't wait for the next one.

Title: You've Got Bear
Series: Shifters in Seattle
Note: Book 1 in the series but it is a standalone with a happy ending
Author: Truli Thorne

This is my review of You've Got Bear , the first book in the Shifters in Seattle Series. I got this first book in the series free in exchange for an honest review. This is the start of a great world and it can be read as a standalone with no cliffhanger ending, it is the whole story. Be warned though you will not want to stop with just this one book and you will want to know the whole series. The characters mentioned show up in the next few books. The book moves at a good pace and keeps you interested.
This book introduces you to Amy who is a entrepreneur of a chocolate shop that is being forced to close. All she has ever wanted to do is have her own store and sell the chocolates products that she makes from her Mother's recipes. We meet her on the worst day of her life as she is closing her store because the mall her store was in was bought and all the stores are being closed in order to make a "digital store". Amy is against selling online because she wants to sell in person and get to know her customers. Enter Mitchell a nasty security guard that Amy used to date. Mitchell is bothering Amy so Zach comes to the rescue. Sparks fly between Zach and Amy immediately and Zach recognizes her as his fated mate but once Amy finds out he is one of the new owners of the mall she wants nothing to do with him. Zach is stuck between doing what the family needs and making his mate happy, that is if he can manage to convince her to date him. Add in some good old fashioned danger and drama and you have a good book. Will they be able to work out their problems? Will Amy get to keep her chocolate business? Read and find out. I liked this book even though I did want to hate Zach at first as well.

Title: YOU'VE GOT BEAR
SHIFTERS IN SEATTLE

Author: Truli Thorne

Reviewer: Stephanie Jordan

●●●●•••●●●●••••●●●●••••●●●●

This is a new author for me, but it won't be my last, I like Ms. Thorne writing style. To me she shows the personality of each character. Yes, this was keeper.
Amy is a human who loves to do things with chocolate her mother's secret recipes are to die for. Not only that but Amy made chocolate lotions, Be a little Naughty. Saving for five years to make her dream come true and she did make end meet never in the red but never any savin either, selling all by customers word of mouth. All that was over now, the Mall was sold, to
Harris International to be virtual mall space.
Mitchell the sexy security guard, who was a jerk was showing Zach a Bear Shifter around the mall, they stopped by at the only opened shop, Amy's. Zach looking at Amy couldn't believe it, it was her, his mate. Mitchell starts to man handle Amy and Zach's Bear tries to get to his mate, but Zach control him and screams at Mitchell. Sweet talking Amy came natural to Zach and he meant every word, as Amy was hanging on to every word let alone attracked to this beautiful hunk of a man. Then Mitchell introduced Amy to Zach Harris and the fire works began. I was gifted this ARC for an honest and truthful review.

OMG Sleepless in Seattle with Shifters!!! Truli Thorne is a new author to me and I was not disappointed at all!!!

All Amy ever wanted to to run her chocolate shop and maybe not date an a$$hat!! She's a gorgeous, curvy woman with close friends/room-mates but her heart is being ripped out- the mall where her store is located is being redeveloped and she can't afford a new store.

To add insult to injury her ex, Mitchell, had gone a bit loco and is acting very strangely and totally creeping her out and being downright nasty.

Zach comes to her aid on more than one occasion but then she finds out...he's the enemy. His family are the ones who bought the mall, just her luck.

Zach, however, is a bear shifter and he knows Amy is his mate, he just needs to get her to see past the whole my-family-took-away-your-dream thing. But with someone out to get Amy, can Zach keep her alive long enough to claim her? Will Amy be able to forgive him for what he's taken away from her?

Great intro to a new series. I loved all the references to Meg Ryan movies and the straight parallel with Sleepless in Seattle and You've got Mail. Amy is a firecracker and Zach is just so lovable (although a bit obtuse as to why Amy doesn't fall at his feet!!) Hilarious and sweet and downright dirty in equal measure. Give me more please!!!

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.

In this book we meet Zach and Amy. When this book opens Amy's store is closing due to the space she was using in a mall what bought buy another company and they are going to take the whole thing virtual. All of the spaces will have a store front but will not actually sell anything inside the store. Amy has always had a hands on approach with her candies and doesn't plan on changing that. When she sees on craigslist another location opening up she hopes she can find a way to work with the owner to get a space. On the first meeting with Zach she feels some chemistry there but when she finds out who he is she can't help but morn the loss of what could have been.

When Zach first comes into the candy makers store he is just surveying the new property his family owns. However one whiff of Amy and he knows he has found his mate if only he can get her to see it. Zach knows that he hurt Amy by taking away her shop but he would do anything to make his mate smile again. All he wants is for her to be happy and maybe if he's lucky she will want him too.

This is a quick read that was absolutely amazing it will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. There are some twists in this book that you will not see coming. I would highly recommend it. Everyone want a man like Zach and you know you'll be looking for him when you finish this book.

five years of scraping together cash to make her dream come true of having her own chocolate shop is crushed when after a few months of dwindling sales her savings are tapped out and she has no reserve to find a new place to hire, since the current mall where she's residing has closed down all the leases.
when it's her last day, the security guard (a former ex who has issues with being and staying an ex) waltzes in accompanied with a handsome man. butterflies start fluttering around in her stomach but it doesn't last long when eventually the cat get out the bag and the handsome man turns out to be the one who put her out on the street!
Zach has other ideas with the curvy woman, specially when his bear is rumbling like crazy that she's their fated mate.
now you wonder what he has to do to win her over? well, a lot! he can't just listen to his bear, he would just pick her up caveman style and have his wicked ways with her, mate her and be done with it, then deal with the outcome. not a smart thing to do.
the suspense was killing me but eventually people came to their senses. my only observation would be that she could have let Zach grovel a bit more before just accepting him and his bear ;-)

When Amy mets Zach she's instantly attracted to him but as he's the one responsible for putting her out of business all she's prepared to give him is a piece of her mind.
Zach is a bear shifter who knows instantly that Amy is his mate but how does he convince her they should be together when she hates him for forcing her to close down ? By email of course, if you're thinking this sounds a lot like the film you've got mail, then you'd be right!
At one point in this book Zach becomes his bear to protect Amy from a wolf shifter, he chases the wolf out of the building but then a little while later both the Bear and wolf return to neutralise the real threat ? It was a bit confusing why the wolf shifter was in the building and seemed to be threatening Amy one minute then apparently helping the next ! was it a set up to draw out the real villain ? I don't know, it wasn't clear. Even with that tho, this is a good story, a short but sweet enjoyable read.
I believe this is a new author and after seeing what she can do I look forward to reading her next book.

Amy wasn't sure what she was going to do. She had to close her chocolate store since the mall had been sold and they were turning it into a virtual mall. She really didn't have the money to start over and the store was her dream. Ex-boyfriend and mall security Mitchell was a creep. Coming into the store as she was packing up giving her a hard time, then Zach walks in. Finding out Zach is behind the mall closing Amy has no problem telling him exactly what she thinks. Even after feeling that instant attraction to him. Amy's only chance of setting up shop elsewhere is a person she had been emailing from Craig's List.

Great story. Some suspense, humor, romance and hot sexy attraction between Amy and Zach. You don't know where they story is going to go and that in itself keeps you turning the pages. Wonderful characters and a smooth flowing story line makes for an wonderful read. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Sweet, sexy and a touch of mystery. Thoroughly enjoyed the book.
Loved that Zack and Amy text each other constantly, yet Amy will not do on line service.
Zack and Amy are so likable that you want them to get together soon. Love the mystery of "illness X" with the cross over to wolf.
Amy does need to wake up and smell the chocolate though, online service will bring customers to her from around the world. She can still have her "face to face" customers while expanding to on-line service.
Zack needs to get his "bear" out of the gutter and point this out to her.
Was given an ARC of books two and three and just had to buy this one. The story involved three friends that are close and looking for something that is missing but are afraid to put their hearts on the line. Highly recommend the series, short, sweet and steamy.
Truli Thorne is now on my authors to follow list.

I like the way this was based on You've Got Mail , I loved it . Amy a human is a chocolatier who is being closed down because the mall she is renting from is being closed. Zach a grizzly bear shifter and his aunt are the group that bought the mall at first Amy does not know this. Zach knows that Amy is his mate but because of savage wolf shifters attacking their properties across the Pacific Northwest he can not court her as he wants. Amy has found someone on line that she e-mails with who is willing to help her, little does she know that it is Zack. Amy is having trouble with the store she is closing who is behind it and can Zack keep her safe? I was given this for an honest review barwatts@telus.net I want the next book this author puts out !

This book is part of the Shifters In Seattle series. Having never read anything by this author, I have to say I have found a new one to follow. I found the book to be interesting with an unusual plot that tempted my sweet tooth. It is about Amy who is having to close her Chocolate store. Needless to say she is less than thrilled. Enter Zach Harris the reason for her loss. He is a bear, who is changing the mall into a virtual retail area. Zach realizes she is his fated mate. How do you get your mate to accept you when you have broken her heart? If that isn't bad enough someone is trying to hurt her could it be the arsonist targeting there businesses?
I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

You’ve Got Bear is a cute tale of hot sexy bears and chocolate. Doesn’t get much better than that. Amy has the perfect recipes for chocolate and that know how to make the sale. There’s only one problem, just as she’s about to make it or break it. The mall has pulled the plug. Oooo when Amy gets her hands on … Zack is a yummy Bear that is trying to everything right when he realizes who Amy is. But there’s not just the business of the mall closing, there’s also wolf problems, Amy is being harassed by a one time date, and someone wants to cause trouble for all. With everything going on, Zack is going to have a hard time convincing Amy they belong together. But as we all know chocolate does fix everything.

This is the first book in the Shifters in Seattle series and it's a really great short story. Amy is a chocolatier and she's come into some trouble recently when the building her store is in is sold and she is being pushed out. Zach is a bear shifter and he and his family are the ones who bought the building and caused all of the problems for Amy. This makes things really interesting when he discovers that she is his fated mate. This is the first book I've read by this author and I was pleasantly surprised. I hope to see more of this series in the future and I highly recommend this to anyone. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The plot was taken from the movie 'You've Got Mail' and given a shifter twist. The characters are underdeveloped with very little depth to them. The ending was rushed, but then again the entire book was short and underdeveloped.

Basically, this story needs a lot of editing to smooth out the flow and remove the immature language. Mitchell's character is the most underdeveloped in the book even if he is playing the part of villain. Is he suffering from the virus? Why why does he act like a petulant 12 year old? Throw in a little violence and attempted assault and he is a hodge lodge of filler rather than a solid villain character.
