Low angst contemporary romance with alternating h/H POVs. Book leaves you a bit cold though. H doesn't seem too much into h, didn't seem very invested and h was only a bit of an improvement on him. Not very inspired dialogue either....

I was introduced to Tess Oliver’s sexy, contemporary and stylish level of writing when I managed to consume her Custom Culture series inside a week and every book she’s ever written thereafter inside three months. Amazingly Cole crosses into both her Custom Culture family and her Strangely Normal rock star family bringing them all together once again, lending a level of whimsical nostalgia to this story, but if you haven’t had the chance to read either, fear not for Cole is the fresh beginning for a brand new fast paced and super sexy series.

‘Kensington was standing at the exit with her arms crossed around her. The look of concern on her pretty face was so damn cute to see, it had almost been worth the fall. She’d managed to snag, hold and wrap herself around my heart completely. Couldn’t fucking believe it. But it had finally happened. I’d finally met someone who I couldn’t stop thinking about.’

Tess has a tendency to write her boys just a little misunderstood and bad, and to be perfectly honest that’s exactly how we like them, but what is also equally thrilling, is sitting back and enjoying their wild ride and unpredictable descent into the unfathomable-love. Cole King is rock star royalty, or at least his superstar dad Nicky is and by familial association so too is Cole but this bad boy with a heart of gold and an adrenaline addiction is paving his own way in the world of Freestyle Motocross riding, taking along his best friends and their hilarious observations and anecdotes for the ride.

Kensington ( what a fantastic name!) is our heroine of the piece. A winery heiress with a penchant for horses and in posession of a very big heart, Kensington is drafted into Cole’s exciting and dangerous world and into the sphere and heart of young Cole. Although it is a ridiculously cute but calamitous meeting of these two seemingly different protagonists, it paves the way for these two complex and multifaceted heroes to find out they have more in common and a deeper connection than either thought possible.

As always, Tess is a word maestro, she brings the steam, eloquence and thrill, but not before building upon all of that riotous sexual tension and witty flirtation, making sure her characters are engaging and interesting. I was so ecstatic to find out this was a spin-off from one of my best loved series’ and stand alone books and I was beyond thrilled with how Cole turned out. It is jam-packed with suspense, idiot men making idiot mistakes, a striking heroine, some tender moments, hot sizzling scenes and a beautifully crafted romance set in a male dominated sport.

First of all, yaaaaaay!!!! The Custom Culture boys!! I loved catching up with them and their girls, the Custom Culture series is one of my absolute favourites and I have really missed those characters so it was a real treat getting to hang out with them again.
So this being a spin-off of the Custom Culture series you may remember Cole, the lead male, as being Finley's brother. Cole lives with his two friends Denver and Rodeo next door to the Modante Winery. One day the heiress of the Modante Winery, Kensington, catches his and Rodeo's eye while she's out horse riding. They make a silly bet to see who can get a date and a kiss out of her. I have to say, at this point I kind of saw where the story was going, we've all seen She's All That. But I enjoyed the story never the less, as I always enjoy Tess Oliver's books, she's one of my favourite authors. So although I wasn't exactly surprised by certain plot points, Tess' writing is such that I get totally sucked into her stories.
I really liked Kensington as a female lead, she was sassy, witty and smart and she had a great sense of humour. Cole is easy going, charming, fun and well, I reckon he'd be hella sexy in his leathers! I'm really looking forward to the following books in the series, I really liked Rodeo and Denver, as different as they are from each other they both have some excellent personality traits and I love the banter between the three friends.
My only complaint, if it can be called that, is that it wasn't quite long enough. I don't particularly mean the length of the book as such, I don't mind a quick read, in fact I find them quite refreshing between the lengthier books. No, it was more to do with that the ending came on rather quickly and I wasn't quite ready for the story to end, I wanted a bit more of an epilogue. But I know we'll get more from Cole and Kensington in the following books of this series so their story isn't over yet!

Firstly I tried to shelve this but due to lack of angst, drama,a label to call friends to lovers, heartache, heartwarming or anything on my shelves to place it, I struggled.

Two young people who are neighbors,
Cole loves motocross and hanging around with his mates, hes the son of a rock legend and loves his friends and family and having fun is his daily goal.
Kensie is a lovely young lady who loves horses and rinding, an only child and has a loving home.

Kensie and Cole meet accidentally while both out riding.

Its a getting to know you story that leads to heated moments, lads having banter, a jealous ex boyfriend on the scene at some point too.

No build up with the characters or anything allowing you to gel with them, just a go with the flow read.

Finished abruptly leaving me feeling like it was rushed and maybe not enough time spent on it to allow the reader feel apart of the plot and warm to the characters.

Its a fun light read though.

Once upon a time, way back in Custom Culture and Strangely Normal there was a girl named Finley, who had Some Pig and a rock star daddy, but she also had 2 smokin' hot brothers, Cole and Jude.
Cole stole my heart and the show in this one. Alongside Rodeo and Denver, Cole takes you to the dirt track and foam pit. You can almost feel the girt on your skin after a exhilarating night of supermans, 360s and any other freestyle they are brave enough to try.
Loved it and now desperately miss the dirt track and country life.

ARC provide in exchange for my honest opinion

This is a spin off from the Custom Culture Series. It starts with Fin's brother, Cole, and his pretty neighbour, Kensington. It is very instalove/ instalust but it's an easy, quick enjoyable read. It did end nicely but abruptly and leads into the next book about Rodeo.
Was great to see the Custom Culture gang again.

Overall Rating: 4 Rockin’ ★★★★

High flying FMX bad boy meets vineyard princess and sparks sizzle between the two! In Tess Oliver’s new series, FMX Bros, we are introduced to a new group of hunkalicious males! Cole is the first in the series and reveals a hard working tattooed sexy alpha male and the spunky beautiful young woman that pushes all of his buttons in just the right way. The pages of this book heat up with their reaction to each other. Ms. Oliver also includes all the Custom Culture guys and gals in this spin off and they add a depth to overall plot.

Cole is the son of a super nova rock star and as such is known and accepted in all the right circles. He however prefers to work hard and play even harder as his own man! With his two BFF’s he runs a construction company for his father and does the FMX thing for fun and relaxation. When he accepts a bet from one of his friends about meeting and dating the heiress next door, Cole bites off more than he can chew! Kensington pulls at a side of him that he didn’t know existed. He wants with her what he has noticed his friends have with their significant others.

When Kensington meets Cole, she is instantly intrigued. Even though she has sworn off men, he appeals to a side of her that says, take a chance. The more she finds out about Col, the more she wants to know. He is everything her heart has been looking for, but is he really as good as he seems? Will he betray her trust, just like the others in her life?

The characters are well developed and the storyline is unusual. Pulling in the Custom Culture crew adds an additional layer to the storyline. This is a great beginning to Ms. Oliver’s new series and I cannot wait to see where she will take this series next.

Cole by Tess Oliver is the first spin off from the Custom Culture Series, the FMX Series. I personally haven't read the series, but after reading Cole, I am definitely reading it. Tess Oliver never disappoints her readers and I am very happy to come across her works. Tess has done a brilliant work on Cole, the way the story proceeds and how it is executed.

Cole King works hard and plays hard. Along with his two best friends, Denver and Rodeo, he ride free style motocross bikes on his own track he made at his home. Since he works at the construction site, riding is a side hobby for him, unlike his best friends who do it professional.

Cole is that kind of a guy who doesn't want to settle down or commit to relationship. But when Kensington (Kensie) Modante heiress to the Modante Winery moves next door, she leaves Cole to do a lot of think.

A bet, a girl, and a chance to turn down ego, what will Cole do when Kensie is all he can think about? But the main question is, what will he do when things get messy after Kensie hears about the bet?

I love how Tess has come up with this whole concept. The way characters presented to us is too good. I've again fallen in love with Tess' writing and I think I will keep falling. Hope I never touch the ground.

I give this book 5 Rider Stars. Cannot wait for the next book!!

Cole by Tess Oliver

This is the first book in the "FMX Bros" Series

He has had a life of privilege, bachelor life, and goes through women like water from a tap.

After a bet made with friends, he didn't expect to fall so hard!

She was quite content in her dull life, working with horses and helping run the family business. She didn't think she was set to ever have love or even feel it!

Will they both find what is missing from their lives?

Will the bet go terribly wrong?

This is a great little read, I have read other book by this author (Reviews to follow). I like them all, I love how the characters all interact in each book in the series. These are all stand alone reads, but the characters stay the same in each book.

The back stories of each main character are well documented, and all different in their own way.

The stories are well written and detailed. However, the only grumble with these reads is you know where the story is going and the endings always seemed rushed and over before you know it. Which makes the endings a bit disappointing since the books start out so well.

However, I enjoyed reading them all.

A spin off series of Custom Culture, this new series begins with Cole, brother of Jude and Finley, and child of Nicky King the rock star.

Readers know Cole especially from Rett and Finley's story, as he employed Rett as a worker in Kingston Construction, the company Cole runs. That's how Rett met Finley.

In Cole's own story, he meets Kensington "Kensie" Modante, a winery heiress and is the classic trope of "bet you can't get this girl" with his buddies.

Of course, boy meets girl, real love develops, girl finds out about said bet, calls it off . . . but there is a HEA.

Fun book.

A Beginning

This book tells the story of the beginning of a romance. There is no marriage at the end of it. However, it's also not the first book in the series and I hadn't read the previous books. This series will play out like a soap opera.

Included in this edition is one of the earlier books which led me to the soap opera analogy. In the second book it starts the romance of the brother whose married in the first book of this edition. Now I have to read the in between novels.

This is the first book in the series and kind of a spinoff of the Custom Culture Series which I totally enjoyed.

Cole is the son of Nicky King and head of Kingston Construction. He also competes in FMX races for fun. He makes a playful bet with is two buddies about his beautiful neighbor. Once he meets her, all bets are off. She's exactly what he never knew he needed.

I am looking forward to the next book in the series as I can tell I already like the dynamic of this group. We also get a another peek at the boys in the Custom Culture series. Fun read.

Cole, by Tess Oliver is the first in a spin off series from Custom Culture Series, the FMX Series, and it does not disappoint! In addition to the characters in this new series, we also get to reconnect with all the guys and girls from the Custom Culture series too, so it is a great book!

Cole King is the middle child of rock star Nicky King, and he lives in Southern California and runs the family Construction Company; he works hard, and he plays hard! Along with his two best friends Denver and Rodeo, he rides free style motocross bikes on his own track he made at his home. His two friends ride professionally, but it is a side hobby for him since he works at the construction sites. Cole is tall and handsome and up until now has led the same style of living as his dad, going from girl to girl never serious about anyone, its all about having a good time.

When Cole gets a look at the girl next door who rides horses, Kensington (Kensie) Modante heiress to the Modante Winery, he gets star struck! Rodeo then bets Cole that he can't get a date or a kiss from Kensie and if he doesn't he has to give Rodeo his red corvette, if he wins Rodeo has to do all the crummy jobs at the construction site where he and Denver work along with Cole. The bet is on!

Minutes later Cole is driving fast on the bike and does not see the horse in front of him until he almost runs into it- he turns way and flies off his bike. Kensie gets off her horse and helps him out, and he is astonished at how beautiful she is. They talk and Cole invites her to the big Halloween party they are having.

Kensie is an only child and she is a beautiful, strong and capable woman. She has had her share of problems with dating and has tired of it pretty much. At the present she is trying to get rid of a professional BMX rider named Nate. He is a great rider and has several sponsors and all the groupies he so loves. Kensie is not into that scene and she is ready to call it quits. She has ridden horses for a long time and has had her share of accidents, as she is a professional rider, just like Nate and Cole's friends Denver and Rodeo. She is intrigued by Cole. When her boyfriend(Nate) asks her to go to the Halloween party, although she does not want to go with him, she goes just to check everything out. When they get to the party Kensie is dressed as a princess in a really hot dress, and of course Cole dressed as Prince Charming! Nate goes off with his groupies and Kensie hangs out with Cole and they have a good time. Nate comes back and finds them and tells Kensie he wants to go do something but Kensie stays at the party and he leaves, mad. She winds up getting a ride from Cole. They make plans to meet again!

Cole and Kensie start getting closer day by day and Cole forgets all about the bet that Rodeo and he made, and all is going fine until Kensie hears about it! Talk about a real mess! Kensie is tired of putting her heart on the line and she had quit doing that for a long time until she met Cole. She just knew it was too good to be true.

Cole has never felt love in any shape or form for anyone in his life other than his family, and he has always been a player but over the weeks he has started falling for Kensie hard, and now with what happened he realizes he loves her!

Read this book and see what happens, get to reconnect with the Custom Culture gang and Cole and he friends and the good and the bad that happens, you even will get to reconnect with Nicky King, rock star, and Cole's brother and sister. This is why I love to read books in a series, as it is so cool to read a few books with the same people in it and reconnect and see what is going on with them!

I gave this book 5***** shining stars and look forward to the next book in this series!

I Was Provided A ARC By The Author
(Possible Spoilers)

Each book Tess Oliver gives us, the more I know that I will be reading her work for a very long time. She is truly a talented author.

Kensington "Kensie" Modante helps her mother and father run their bussiness, Modante Winery, and enjoys her passion of riding horses. She is looking for a decent guy, but never seems to find "The One". But when she runs into guy next door, Kensie thinks she just might have found something special, with the ruggedly handsome, tattooed, humble, Cole King.

Cole King dose not want to be label just as Nicky King's son. He is his own person, he has a name. He runs a successful construction company, he rides motocross, and he loves to have fun and be surrounded by his family and friends. The more time Cole spends with Kensi, the more he realizes she is not what he excepted. And he couldn't be happier.

Kensie & Cole are a couple that I want more and more of. I fell in love with them from the first page. Tess Oliver knows how to weave a great romance. Full of laughs, sexy moments, and memorable characters. While connecting with beloved characters from previous books, and meeting new ones. All woven together to make for a fun and loving group of friends, of family.

Kensie is a sassy and sweet. Her personality is fun and genuine. She doesn't have the greatest luck with her love life. But she has a big heart and lots of love to give. Cole King, is of course (right along with every other Tess Oliver hero) another great one to add to my ever growing list of fictional men that I wish were real. ;) he is a happy, live life to the fullest, have fun, guy. Together these two make for a light, fresh, romance.

This series has started out amazing, so I cant wait to see whats next!

Being a huge fan of Strangely Normal and the Custom Culture series, I was extremely excited when Tess announced Cole was finally get his own book in her new FMX Bros series. Getting to read Cole's POV and watching him navigate through trying to woo Kensington was so entertaining. Kensington is someone who feels she might never find the right guy. Little does she know though that Cole is literally about to come crashing into her life. Both have their own misconceptions about the other in the beginning. She thinks he will be a disappointment like guys from her other short lived relationships and he thinks she is a typical spoiled rich girl. But after quickly connecting, they soon realize their initial judgements were wrong and learn they might have finally found what they need in each other. I don't want to give away too much but Cole does something pretty juvenile early on which didn't seem like a big deal but unfortunately brings consequences later on down the line. When things finally come to a head, he knows he has his work cut out for him to gain her trust back. In the end, Cole is able to prove he is someone Kensington can depend on when she needs him most especially at the most crucial of times. I found this book almost impossible to put down. I really enjoyed seeing the return of some of my favorite characters (there can never be enough scenes with Nix or Jude in my opinion). I'm looking forward to seeing where this series goes next and getting to know more about Rodeo and Denver.

My favorite Tess Oliver book is Strangely Normal -I loved the King family and Eden! I also really enjoyed the Custom Culture series & was excited she crossed Finley King over as Rett's heroine. Reading all of my favorite characters together was perfect! Although Ms. Oliver has written many books since, I've been left wondering about the last character from those books who didn't have his own HEA - Cole King. I love that he's getting his own spin-off series along with 2 friends/roommates/co-workers.

Cole continues to be one of the most super likable characters (and self-aware) ever written. Even his father comments that he's always in a good mood or having a good day. He's contagious in a totally good way. Kensie/Kensington is equally likable and together they made this an enjoyable story. The story flows and is not dragged down by angst. That's not to say there isn't drama. From the first chapter (even the synopsis) you know what it's going to be, but you're not sure when it's going to happen and that keeps you turning each page.

Overall, I loved the book and revisiting old friends. Everyone from the Custom Culture series and Strangely Normal (even Some Pig!) makes appearances and in most cases lengthy scenes to keep you loving this world Ms. Oliver has created. Each are strong on their own, but together the chemistry of this group has you feeling you're right there laughing (and eating) right next to them.

I received an ARC from the author for an honest review - thank you thank you!!!

Speechless !! I cannot describe how excited I was that this book had been produced. If your already a fan of Tess, then you will be familiar with her Custom Culture Series.....if you have not read the series yet I would very much advise you give that series a whirl as it is SPECTACULAR !!. Anyway, you can if you must read Cole without the pre-reading as its a "reconnect" with the characters from CC. I reveled in the experience of catching up with the HUNKS from that series *sigh*.

Moving on.....Cole is the third child of rock star Nicky King and he really is the definition of "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree !!". He is very much following in the footsteps of his party hard, girls galore and no ties life style.
He meets Kensie when she moves next door and well let's just say she definitely gives him plenty to think about. What starts out as an ego bet turns into much, much more........
Sounds fabulous no?.........

Friendship builds, relationships are tested, chances are taken..........

This story get a 5 ALPHA HOT meets Princess with a Backbone Stars from me.

Many Thanks for the opportunity Tess. Role on more in this series !!!!

Tess Oliver's spin-off is a hit!! First, let me just say I love being back in Tess's world with all the cast and crew from the other series. It's great to get a glimpse of everyone and see where they're at. This is Cole's story. Cole, easy-going, hard-working and harder playing son of rock legend Nicky King, had been doing what he does best, playing hard. He's out playing in the dirt with the motorcross bikes and the guys when one bet leads to another that leads to a big one. Kensington is the wine heiress next door and surely a nob. He's dated her type before and it never lasts. He can barely stand to be around them, but a bet's a bet and it's one date. All bets are off though the minute he meets her. Will they fall in love or will he follow his pattern of acting a fool or breaking hearts? This is their journey, the good and the bad. It's a fast-paced read with great characters, not a ton of character development because it's a spin-off and we know most of them from before, so it focuses on Kensie and Cole, just as it should. Tess is great at delivering a fun story that is still filled with emotion and growth!

If you have kept up with Oliver's book you will recognize the King family, children of rock star Nicky King. We met Jude in Strangely Normal, Finley from Rett (Custom Culture Series) and now we have Cole. Cole runs his dad's construction company and enjoys motocross racing as a hobby. Kensington, Kensie, loves to ride horses and lives on the family run winery. A chance meeting has them crossing paths and everything changes from there. She has a guy, another racer, that she was dating but not seriously. This guy does not take rejection well and becomes slightly jealous. Cole has two roommates, Denver and Rodeo, that are crazy typical guys. It is very easy to fall for the men in Oliver's books, tough guys on the outside but gooey and sweet on the inside. Another great series! As part of Tess Oliver's review team I received my copy for my honest review.
