Tracey Michael is the pen name of Tracey Steinbach. Her three children call her Mom or Mama. Tracey has been married for over twenty years to a man who’s broadened her horizons. He introduced her to NHRA Drag Racing in 1997. She’s been a fan ever since.

Tracey has an eclectic taste in music, enjoying everything from country to hard rock. Def Leppard is her favorite rock band.

Tracey enjoys watching Disney cartoon movies, action/adventure, and romantic comedies. Castle is her favorite TV show.

She loves watching NFL Football. Go 9ers and Saints!

Tracey has been an avid reader since her teen years. She started writing, seriously, after her first short story was accepted for an anthology in 2011. Reading books for a living had always been a dream of Tracey’s. She often jokes that she writes to fund her reading habit.

Brilliant and talented Gwen chooses to stay in her hometown passing up a job offer from one of the most prestigious accounting firms in Chicago. Thea graduates from an automotive tech school with her grandfather clapping and cheering from a front row seat at the ceremony. She opens a successful auto repair shop with the help of Gwen her best friend. This is a very moving and sweet story with triumphs and tears and precious togetherness.

Gwen is a diligent worker at her job, a superior housekeeper, loves to shop, and is a damn fine cook. Thea is a brilliant mechanic, fair housekeeper, hates to shop, and makes good coffee. One gets the feeling of a female version of a Mutt and Jeff team with extras. However, they both have each other’s back and their friendship is incredibly precious…priceless in fact.

A few totally unexpected curve balls place our gals' relationship on a precarious cliff. How they deal with life’s peculiar twists and turns are totally delightful and unexpectedly sensuous. This story is a top of the line heart-warming winner.

I was lucky enough to be a beta reader for this book and I loved every part of it. It's just an all round good short story. There defo needs to be book 2 ^_^

This book was boring for me. I almost stopped halfway through, if it hadn't been a 100-page book I wouldn't have completed it.

The main characters could use a bit more personality, I understand why Thea had a crush on Gwen (already a lesbian) but I think Gwen's reasons are a bit to shallow. I wish there where more exploration of her change.
Gwen is emotionally distraught after seeing a man she fancied kissing somebody else, she kisses Thea will she is being comforted by her and starts to develop feelings for Thea.
You don't ever get to know a really compelling reason for Gwen's turn, it seems more like love out of convenience oh we know each other already so well and don't want to spend our life the rest of our life alone let's just get married.

Pretty Please touches on feelings I think many of us can relate to at some time in our life. Wanting to take a friendship beyond “just friends” but being frightened of losing it all. And Michaels’ descriptive characters make it even more relatable and enjoyable. Discovering through Thea and Gwen just exactly where following that urge can lead.

Short but good

If you like short stories I highly recommend Tracey Michael's Pretty Please. It's a wonderful story about female friends and they're growing into love together
