A marvelous book. Unlike the Goldman biography (which is a workmanlike job and should be read in tandem with this one where possible) Miss Brice comes off the page living and breathing again. It made me want to know her.
If memory serves me correctly, Fanny Brice objected to this biography/collection of interviews and memories once the book was complete and published. Interviews with Fanny, her family, and her contemporaries abound, fleshing out this triple threat who could sing, act, and dance.
This is a wonderful biography of a true talent. Fanny Brice contributed so much to our American culture! I wish there were more film and recordings of this amazing woman.
