How Basel changed the world

Rate this book
This book is all about events, discoveries and ideas which may have seemed small and insignificant at the time but later changed the world. DDT and LSD, Frick & Frack, the Basel Mission and the Zionist World Congress, Tadeus Reichstein and Friedrich Nietzsche, the first printed edition of the Koran and much else provide the stuff of which exciting stories are made in Basel, the hub of the universe.

It’s a small book of about people, inventions or events that either originated or are linked with Basel and had their influence in any way or form beyond Basel’s and Switzerland’s borders. I learned many things, but there was something off with this English edition: either the original German version has very weird sentence structure, or the translation is not great.
