This series definitely gets better as it goes on!
We get another troubled, bad boy who finds his mate, but his new mate is also troubled. She's had a stalker after her for years and isn't too thrilled to be "claimed" by this giant, scary man who tells her that she now belongs to him.

The thing about these books is that they are not only really dark, scary, and bloody, but they are really well written and have great insight into the character's feelings. The author has a degree in psychology, and you can tell.

Sometimes we're lucky, and our demons are vanquished. Other times, we just learn to live with their presence, making the most out of our time in the sun, knowing that they always lurk in the dark. Either way, we do the best we can, one day at a time.

See? Now, that there is some deep, meaningful shit! Really inspirational! I love inspirational stuff!

Here's one of my favorites:

And, I send this one to my husband each morning:

And, of course, my very favorite:

Oh well, this was such an emotional book. Talk about fighting your own demons. Out of all the vampires presented to us, I think this hero has one of the worst life story.

It was so nice seeing his progress. And having more of everyone else involved. That end with Braden was so heartfelt.

And putting all the darkness aside, I enjoy so much the plot of this series. Each book deals with a problem at large. Like a detective looking into human traffic, childhood trials, in this book specifically we deal with stalkers (the ones that are the real deal, the ones that wants to kill you if you don't be by their sides "like you should be"). So yeah, it is a dark romance series, but this writter knows how to write a plot.

Nice addition to the series. I liked both Julien and Rebecca. I liked Julien's background story but wish there was more of something (interaction, etc) with Ian and Julien but it was still good. Lots of action. I really liked how Julien and Rebecca's story unfolded.

Rebecca - Only "pet peeve" with her (and some of the other female characters in the series) is that she fell real quick into calling him by "Warrior". It is a term I can easily see Ciopori (Vanya also) using. When Rebecca used the term my brain automatically wanted to Historicalize the book (long fancy dress, upper class manors, using titles, etc). Plus I felt it just didn't go with a woman raised in the 21st century.

With that said I am super nervous where Tessa is going to go with the next book. I read the teaser and not sure what to think about it, not particularly fond of books that have betrayal like themes. But we shall see because I most definitely am going to read it.

Wow! Another fantastic story in the series! Fantastic Narration by Eric Dove (audible review). He sings again! Loved it!

If you haven't read/listened to this series you are missing out. They are all fantastic! Absolutely love this series and the world building and characters.

Loved Julien he was big, strong, handsome and just cool. I really liked his Destiny, Rebecca too. They made a great couple. She was strong and sick and tired of being a victim of a stalker. Enter Julien right on time. They did have some good chemistry together. There was attraction but really not much sex written, but this story isn't about that. So it was perfect.

The story line and plot was great. Loved that Julien had some demons he had to deal with from his back story. Rebecca had a good back story too. There is so much wonderful dialogue throughout the entire book. The constant action and things happening is fantastic. These stories are NOT full of filler nonsense and I love that. Always look forward to some great battles in these stories too.

As for the narration, IT WAS AMAZING! And OMG Eric Dove's singing is so great! He does such a wonderful job as a narrator, all the women sound like women. His reading voice is great and he reads with emotion which includes singing!

Holy smokes what a ride that was! Loved Julien and also loved Rebecca. The book starts off with a bang and sucks you in immediately. Although it was tough at times I enjoyed seeing the story of Lucien and Rebecca unfold. Both having experienced such evil and pain during their lives they both seemed to find a way to beat their demons together. Was thrilled to see Nachari (oh how I love that wizard!!) and several other of our favorite characters. Can't wait to read the next one, crossing fingers it won't be too.

This is the Story of Julien Lacusta An Elite Tracker for The House Of Jadon & His Destiny Rebecca Johnston. Neither have had an easy life, they both are fighting Demons of their past.
I have been waiting for Julein's Story from Book 1 , even tho he was briefly mentioned , their was something about him that just grabbed my attention and said " He has a Story to tell".

Even with the teasers I knew it was going to be an Epic Story. I thought I was prepared, how mistaken I was. This was not an easy book to read. Point to Author Tessa Dawn!!
I had to put my kindle down, and take a long , long walk, just to get my emotions under control. This happened throughout the Story. Heck at 1 point I walked by my kindle and threw it the finger, ( well mutli. times)!!! To me being drawn into a story so deeply I forget to breathe, my heart forgets to beat, happens so rarely that when it does you know without a doubt that the Author is a Master Story Teller! I have now read this Emotional Roller-coaster 3 times since its release date 5-26-16. I had to re-read it, I just had to. It contains the heart and soul of 1 of my Favorite Authors.
I have been reading this series since day 1. I thought I knew all I needed to know of Tessa and her writing style, than she drops this Story and Laughs at me as I tell her OMG, you went there, you really went there! If you have not read her stories, she has a Free Prequel, that will give you just a small taste of what is to come. I can not recommend this Series enough. It really is not for the easy offended, or squeamish. This is in your face Dark Fantasy at its very best.

Do you want to know the first time our hero and heroine met?

She on her free day doing door to door walk to ask donation for her charity work, when she arrived on hero's house front door, no one answer her knock but the door open and lovely music play inside.
So, of course she invited herself and there he is, sat down on the sofa, one hand wet with blood, the other hand holding a glass of whiskey, close to his feet unconscious female lie down on the floor with bleeding neck.
Oh, he high on heroin!!
Bloody vampire addicted to heroin! Gosh!!

And he won't let his little mouse get away from him...

But you know what? After I read Julien's life story, I love him more than Saber:)
This series just getting better and better.

I just finished this story and I am so disappointed. Don't get me wrong, I loved this book just as much as all of the others in the series. I am disappointed because now I have to wait for the next one. The great thing about discovering an amazing author is that you get to binge read the whole series without waiting in between, but then the high wears off when you get to the end and you want the next book but it's not out yet:(

I can honestly say Tessa Dawn is one of my favorite authors in this genre. I love that every single book had it's own unique story. I also love that she is not afraid to go down a dark path. She doesn't write a wimpy vampire.

OMG! What a Raw, Emotional Rollercoaster Ride. This eighth installment of Tessa Dawn's Blood Curse Series is Absolute Genius.
The world is dark, psychologically thrilling, mysterious, horrifying, and full of angst, betrayal, lust, and danger. With picturesque, heartpounding turns and insane twists, this installment brought tears to my eyes, giggles to my soul, and also touched me deep inside on an, "I can relate" level.
The characters... OMG! Julien is a force to be reckoned with. He is so messed up inside... I found myself drawn to him even more as the story unfolded before my eyes.
Rebecca is a stong character in her own right. She has had her own demons to battle... then enter Julien... Mind blowing!!!
This is a story of Good ~vs~Evil that grabbed me at Hello... and kept me there dispite life's interruptions until I finished it. I Love that in a book!!

If you like vampires who bite... then check out this series. It does not disappoint.

This is book eight in this series. It is about the reclusive tracker Julian, and Becca. She is a woman on the run, and hiding from her stalker, who means to kill her. She was also a group leader to help other abused women. Julian has spent most of his 900 plus years in solitude. He is the best tracker for the house of Jaydon, and loyal to a fault. He is also tormented over a decision his father made when he was a newborn. Now he was alone, and that is how he needed it to be. He was tied to the elements of the earth. He had lost his temper but once, and a village had perished. He carried that sin, and more in his soul. Becca knocked on the wrong house for donations, and as the blood moon rose, and the tattoo appeared on her arm, there seemed to be no way she could escape. Listening to Julian, and what must be done seemed crazy, but he offered her peace, and all the ladies in her group the same. No more running, or hiding, or fear. Could she accept the conditions, of the agreement? Was there a choice ? These paranormal books are very interesting. The love scenes are not graphic, but steamy. There is violence, since these are warriors. This book really spoke to me. Parents can cause so much damage, and be unaware of it. It can leave a mess behind that takes years to fix. Our laws do not really help battered mother's, or women, or children. They sometimes release the same person, to only attack again. I have read cases where mothers went to jail, after killing a man after beatings, and rapes. I really liked Julian, and how the warriors looked at this problem. Men never hurt their women, or children in such a way. You did not take something precious from a young girl, without consequences. This story was complex, and emotional. I never put it down. 5 stars.

The good outweighed the bad..

Overall, this was a really good addition to the Blood Curse series. BUT I’m so tired of the author using the word “baby,” “baby girl,” or “babe.” It’s like she gives the heroine a name then forgets all about it. The “baby” word was used 47 times! Really? And when that wasn’t enough he called her “little mouse” 22 times. And “Angel” 33 times. Her name was REBECCA, for pete’s sake. (I just hate that.)

And let’s talk about Julian’s heroin use. Yuck! I know he couldn’t get addicted to it but the fact that he ran for it every time the sounds got too bad in his head was pretty disgusting, IMO. Seeing the hero stoned out of his mind was not all that attractive.

Now that I’m done with my rant let’s get down to it. It was soooo easy to hate Julien’s twin brother Ian. What an evil bastard he was, but he got all that he deserved. As to Rebecca’s stalker, Trevor, of 5 years? Well, what Julien did to him was pretty gross. And the end of the book was what I was waiting for. ALL the abused women that Rebecca worked with, all the husbands, boyfriends and stalkers were taken care of by Saxson and Nachari. So, that was nice.

And speaking of Nachari he’s always been my favorite, the Master Wizard. I did like the others, too: Napolean, Ramsey, Braden, Saxson, Saber, and Santos. Great secondary characters.

There was one sex scene in this book. It wasn’t the usual kind but it fit with the story. There was no swearing to speak of, which I still find strange in a vamp book.

As to the narration: Eric Dove is fantastic! His male and female voices and emotions are awesome. AND his singing is wonderful, too.

It kills me to say this but, I was really disappointed in this book & it's more like 2.5/2.75 stars. I've loved this series so far & I've even come to terms with the lack of sexy times because the story telling has been good. This book though I got bored with & couldn't wait to be finished with it just to be done. I couldn't get on board with the characters. I didn't like Rebecca or her personality. I thought she was a one dimensional character. Julien is supposed to be this badass, alpha, warrior vampire. I didn't find him to be. He had SO SO SO much potential to badass & sexy yet, he wasn't. I first fell in love with this series because I thought it was such a unique & different take on pnr & vampires. Those reasons felt lost in this installment. I also feel like this series needs more sex appeal. These are badass, (supposedly) sexy, dominant, alpha vampires. I want to see more of the sex, more of the dominance & more conflict between the Dark Ones & Light Ones. This is now starting to come off as a YA book series.

Another great story by Tessa Dawn. The vampires that belong to the house of Jadon, residing in the Dark Moon Vale, just keep getting better and better. I loved the depth of this story. The emotions that shaped and warped Julien were prophetic and beautifully written. I also loved the fact that Rebecca was very strong and did not fall for this whole 'you're my destiny and have to be mated.' She fought it as long as she could and even though they are mated, she is under the belief of taking this whole relationship as a one day at a time, which is more realistic, in my opinion. I'm glad that everything worked out for them in the end. I can tell you one thing though...that ending? WOW!!! The next book is going to take us on a Rip-Roaring Rollercoaster of a Ride! I cannot wait!!! Her Blood Curse series never disappoints!

Another good installment to the Blood Curse series. I have enjoyed this series since the beginning, however the darkness that was once what this series was drenched in has become a little fluffy. Not that fluffy is all bad, but when you come back to a series that has been shrouded in a darker path and get smacked with fluff you kinda take a step back and say what the heck what happened to the dark fantasy books I have been reading? I absolutely LOVE Tessa Dawn's writing style and will always buy anything she releases because her story telling knows no bounds. I just hope we get to see more of the raw, gritty, and dark tones that the previous books have offered. I look forward to the next installment, that epilogue was to absolutely die for!!

Another great story

Tessa Dawns Vampyre are so out of the ordinary and so fantastical, you can't help but love each one and the personal story for each that she creates is outstanding. For all the reading I do, I've never read Vampyre quite like these. I imagine if you've read this far, book 8, you know how awesome she is, if you've come across this review and have never read her, go start at the beginning, you won't want to miss anything, I promise it's worth the time and the money, get ready to be taken away.

Amazing Series!!!

Tessa Dawn's Vampire world, just keeps getting better and better!! The Blood Curse Series is not your typical Vampire genre! Her characters are tough, Alpha and just plain sexy! And their destinies are just as amazing! And this book is just another amazing addition to the already addictive series.. . The epilogue on this book has left me on pins and needles waiting for the next book...

Blood Ecstasy is book #8 of the Blood Curse series. Damaged souls, wounded minds, and in desperate need for healing, these pages pull you away from the here and now. This Vampire a loner, rugged, stealthy and lethal, doesn’t want to deal with his destiny (his woman) but his animalistic need to consume ever fiber of her being is more powerful, more ravenous, deeper than he can withstand. His Destiny, just as wounded and troubled as he, doesn’t want his overwhelming advances or his need for her. Within these pages, Author Tessa Dawn will turn these troubled souls loose in your mind. You will fall in love with them, you will hurt for them, you will need for them. This is one of those books that you will yell at, cry with and utterly hold your breath in dismay. Be prepared for Tessa’s twists and turns. Hold on for dear life as this story takes you to a whole new level of pain, torture, desire, and climatic release. Happy reading!

This novel was a true page turner. When I began reading this series years ago, I was, like many readers, hooked in to the Silivasi Brothers. But as we've seen with Blood Redemption, Blood Vengeance and Blood Possession, this series is so much more than the four brothers. This latest tale focuses on Julien Lacusta and his journey toward meeting his destiny, Rebecca Johnston. The story takes us into his past where we learn the source of his angst and his intense need to "escape" certain feelings. Blood Ecstasy takes the reader on an intense emotional journey where we see Julien (and others) learn to accept and forgive himself and truly take stock in what is important in life. This series continues to be so much more than just a vampire novel. It continues to explore the complex emotions that we all experience and shows us how to love, understanding, acceptance and loyalty can help you overcome anything.

This book is an erotic romance paranormal.

Not enough emotional connection for me. Sorry. The book is good, but I could not connect with the characters.

Julien is cursed until he meets his soul mate, the one person that can save him. He is damaged and his only peace is drugs. He had almost given up hope until he opens his eyes and sees an angel the moon and sky warned him at his darkest moment which left him showing off a first bad impression to the woman that is going to save him.

Rebecca is down on her luck running from an ex and trying her hardest to stay alive and under the radar. When one day she walks into a nightmare and the commanding voice that beckon her is going to be her savior or her death.

Julian and Rebecca had further to go to come in order to come to terms with one another emotionally than most other couples in the blood curse series. She's lived in terror of a stalker from years, moving from state to state, changing identities and starting over time and time again. He is an emotional hull with a death wish and drug addiction. His baggage includes having known his twin brother was a soulless evil creature that Julian failed to prevent from murdering their innocent mother on the boys' 10th birthday.
The couple clash into each other's lives and the tempo is set. It continues at an engaging and interest binding pace.
Overall a truly interesting/well above average read.
