About the author

I was born in Zimbabwe but grew up in South Africa. As a child I was always stuck in a book, or writing stories set in faraway lands.

After college, I worked as a receptionist for several years before moving to Ireland..where I fell into a child minding job and loved it.

I love writing rural romance and adventure novels set in different countries. I'm also a Watercolour Artist; painting African animals and birds.

I'm a mummy to several kittens, and I live on the Emerald Isle. I support people with Leprosy in Nepal through my book sales.

This is a humorous account of Sam's adventures on an outback cattle station. She encounters creatures she never dreamed of nor ever wanted to meet. Leaving behind a life of luxury in Perth she is thrust into a world of extreme heat, dust and dirty men, where life is just a dull monotonous hell. Until one deathly encounter breaks the monotony and thrusts her into a world of possibilities...
She attempts things she would never have dreamed of doing in Perth, the city she loves. Surprises await her at every turn..

Think written by someone who has no idea of life on a station. The word "crikey" used by nearly every character. Yes there are snakes and red backs but not always so prominent. Animals in barns! Did not enjoy it at all

this is one of my favorite book. I really love to read this book. every time i read this book i feel something inside me. It may the power of the love written in this book or the adventure of Sams life. This is the book every one should read to know about the life. Nicole wrote about the real life in this book. Life is not always so easy. when Sams got 2 choice to select between find a job and live alone in the city, or move to her father’s cattle station in the outback. she choose the adventurous one. After that love came many thing happens. But this love is the exceptional. I may call it a pure love. love without any want. really good book I will highly recommend it.

Emerald Downs is the debut novel from South African, Nicole Silver, and a great start to her career. When Sam is forced to decide between following her mother to New York or moving out to her father's cattle ranch. She takes to the outback for the adventure of her life. The book follows Sam through her misadventures on the ranch and an unexpected love. Emerald Downs is a true romance at heart, and if you love a suspenseful, action packed, girl falls for the wrong guy kind of romance novel then this one is for you!

This is a special kind of book. I found this collection to be fantastic! This might just be one of my favorite collections that have been released so far. Very well written book good sound characters and showed the authors knowledge of a romantic adventure story in her writing and passion of the characters...love this author can't wait to read the next book.
