Three Wise Men #1

The Perfect Gift

Q. What could be better than getting a billionaire for Christmas?
A. Getting THREE billionaires for Christmas!

Three Wise Men is a series of three books set in the sub-tropical Northland of New Zealand following the stories of three billionaire brothers and the single mums they fall in love with.

As a single mum who can barely afford to put food on the table, let alone fill her son Ryan’s Christmas stocking with presents, Erin Bloom isn’t particularly looking forward to the festive season. When Ryan has an asthma attack and ends up in hospital, she’s convinced it’s going to be the worst Christmas ever. Sure, Christmas is a time for miracles, but everyone knows wishes don’t really come true.

Consultant pediatrician Brock King lost his wife to cancer two years ago, and he’s convinced the love he felt for her only comes around once in a lifetime. Then, while visiting the children’s ward, he meets single mum Erin, and suddenly his future doesn’t seem so bleak.

Once Ryan recovers, Brock offers to take Erin away for her birthday, no strings attached, to give her the perfect gift every single mum would kill for—a night in an exclusive hotel. Will she take him up on his offer, which might (if she’s very lucky) end up with hot sex with a gorgeous billionaire? Or should she take the moral high ground and say no?

Warning: Includes sexual content – adults only.

What the heck???????

The last chapter just ended.....not even a period at the last word.....the story just stopped....that ain't right....the elevator just rang and it was probably Charlie....but who knows....He felt the velvet box in his pocket and was going to ask Erin to marry him I assumed.....but who knows....I was terribly ticked at this abrupt ending.......did the rest of the chapter not print or what?......I would have given this five stars..It was a wonderful read and I enjoyed it very much until I got to the last page....very very very, disappointed

I liked this book a lot. The hero was a widower whose wife had died from cancer two years earlier and he had never wanted anyone else. He swore to her when she was dying that he would never love anyone else. I just hate stories with dead exes and people moving on. I know it is a fact of life but his deceased wife Fleur was in a lot of their conversations and his thoughts. He promised her he would never love a woman again, physically or emotionally. She laughed at him and told him to be happy but it was hard for me to read about it. I know I am a freak but I just keep thinking about his thoughts and at first he felt like he was cheating on his wife but he wasn't. I know that in the logical part of my mind and the heroine was awesome. I loved her. Her little boy Ryan was so cute too. The whole story was sweet. No cheating, no ow drama, no sleeping around, nothing. both of them had been celibate for at least two years. I think she was three years and it was the Father of her son. He was a deadbeat dad and left her. They were never married and he wanted nothing to do with the boy. So it was perfect really. These three guys in the series are great. I didn't like the third story at all but in the end, they were all good guys and this centered around a hospital. Two were doctors and the third brother wrote children's books about a hospital ward and they really were great guys. But at the end of each story, I felt a little let down. I don't even know why. Especially when the guys really loved the heroines very much. Maybe it's just my after Christmas blues. I have to go ponder about this. I read them out of order so maybe that is it. Or maybe it's just too good to be true. But for all of you this one if safe, no cheating and the only OW drama involves the poor dead wife. I got in in KU so it was free to me and I have read this author before, some I liked, some I hated, and I will read her again. I have finished the series and overall, it is a good one. I loved the ending at the end of the third book with all three couples proposing at the same time basically. Brock and Charlie were good men. Matt is still a negative for me for some reason, but I still give the series an overall three stars. There is just something missing for me. And I don't even know what it is. LOL.

***4.5 Stars***

This is the first book of the series about three very wealthy brothers who formed a medical organization with the moniker 'Three Wise Men' with the intent to make life more livable for those children with lung diseases.

Consultant pediatrician Brock King lost his wife to cancer two years ago. He is the eldest of the three King brothers at age thirty-one and is sure that love is lost to him for the rest of his life. He vowed to his dying wife that he would never love again but that isn't what she wanted. He has mourned her death for two very long years and he feels he may finally be ready to get out and date again. Because of their research and new inventions for children with lung diseases, like asthma and CF, the brothers began a website for the parents of afflicted children. He has spoken to an Erin Bloom who is a single mom of a two year old with asthma for the past year. After a lot of chatting he decides he wants to meet her face to face.

Erin Bloom is a single mom who struggles to put food on the table. She lives in a very tiny house in a not-so-good neighborhood and has a very negative mother. She has not made wise choices in men and the last one left her when she told him of the pregnancy, never to be seen again. Since her son's illness keeps her from working full-time she has little income and no help from her ex. When she is upset or has questions she turns to Brock when he is online at the 'Three Wise Men' forum.

This is a tender and precious love story between man, woman, and child. I guarantee you'll love this book and it will deeply touch your heart. I highly recommend this and it is great for the Christmas season.

I just couldn’t power through the book. Not only do the characters lack any chemistry, but they speak so damn formally to each other.

They know nothing about each other and their interactions are practically nil before Brock whisks Erin off for a romantic weekend.

We are told that they have been emailing. But it’s always been about Erin’s asthmatic son. We don’t know the contents of the emails just that Brock frequently talks to parents on a forum to help them deal with their sick kids.

They have exactly one phone conversation and then meet the next day(for the first time), where Brock immediately invites her on a romantic weekend for her birthday.

Both characters speak to each other like they are embarrassed and like they are in the drawing room of Downton Abbey when they are really in present day New Zealand.

At one point, when Erin arrives at the ritzy hotel that Brock booked for them, she’s bowled over by the fact that he got them two luxury suits and wonders if everything will be gold plated and if there will be slaves waving fanning leaves.....

Yes, you read right. SLAVES! We are in present day fucking New Zealand so I don’t understand why that thought even crosses her mind. Everything these characters do or say just doesn’t make sense at all.

A simple implausible little romance. Change the names and location and it’s interchangeable with others.

I only made it through the first book and decided not to continue with the trilogy.
Anytime there is a New Zealand setting is a plus for me, but I had too many issues with the hero and the first book ended very abruptly, with no epilogue.
In his spare time, billionaire paediatrician and widower Brock provides online advice to parents about their children’s health. It is online that he meets young single mum Erin, whose son suffers from serious asthma.
Brock’s character just didn’t gel with me. He is an exceptionally skilled paediatrician but he wonders about the mystery of parenthood. We learn through the book that he first fell in love with Erin on line. The fact that he was offering her medical advice at the time seems to hold no ethical problems for him. His idea of asking Erin on a first date is to offer to book a hotel room for her (not to sleep with her of course) but so she can ‘rest’ after her son Ryan has been released from hospital. (Cue discussions about whether Brock expects to be ‘rewarded’ for his financial outlay.) He is a doctor, but as soon as her learns that Erin is on the pill, he is fine not using a condom.
To me Brock came across as controlling- after knowing her in person for a few days he tells Erin’s mother that he is definitely going to marry Erin- but Erin will need ‘time’ to come around to the idea so until then it’s to be kept a secret. He can’t really understand why Erin has trouble coming to terms with their differences in financial status.
On the plus side? Erin is a likeable heroine and the sex scenes are well done.

I’ve read several books by Serenity Woods in her Treats series and enjoyed those, but this is my favorite novel from her so far that I’ve read. Yes, it’s a billionaire guy falls for a poor, single mother plot and we’ve seen way too many of those, But it’s not in a 50 Shades of Gray sort of book. Instead, it’s a very sweet story about Brock who has had a hard time recovering from the too-early death of his beloved wife from cancer. Erin is a poor woman whose boyfriend took off as soon as she got pregnant. Now she has an adorable, little boy about to turn three years old.

Brock and his two brothers have made a fortune having cooperated to invent medical devices for children with pulmonary diseases. Brock has met Erin online at the website that he and his brothers created for parents to talk to each other and ask questions. Erin’s son has asthma. Brock and Erin have become friends as he’s helped her understand her son’s condition. She has no idea that she’s talking to a billionaire. When they finally meet, Brock falls for her and goes after with a determined push to win her heart. She has her own doubts wondering if his money is what is really attracting her and if he will ever grow to doubt that she loves him for who he is rather than what he can provided for her and her son. Bkrock is almost too good to be true. He’s a sexy doctor with a heart of gold who just wants to help children and he also happens to be a billionaire. (And seriously, isn’t any guy a millionaire any more? They always seem to be billionaires. Inflation has hit the romance novel.)

Brock’s character is what made this story stand out among so many billionaire love stories. These were two kind-hearted, good people. They are working to find each other and their HEA. Sure, there are some sexy scenes, but the story is really about how a poor woman can grow comfortable with loving a good man who just happens to be monster rich. I enjoyed their story.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first book of a new trilogy for this New Zealand author, and despite some serious themes it's a light, easy read. It's the unlikely love story of Brock (a billionaire pediatrician, naturally) and Erin (a low-income single mother) who meet through an online chat room and strike up a quick, steamy romance. I emphasize the "quick" because their courtship lasts about a day before they decide they are each other's soulmate. This despite the backstory that Brock's wife died tragically from breast cancer two years prior, and the father of Erin's young son unceremoniously dumped her when she got pregnant, and refused to acknowledge his son. So they are both struggling with issues of trust, guilt and commitment, but those hesitations seem to go out the window pretty quickly once they get their groove on.

I would have liked to see Brock process moving on from his wife's memory a little bit more in depth, since that seemed to be glossed over a little too easily. It's also clearly part of a series; while it does not have a cliffhanger, it doesn't quite wrap up the story completely. I get the sense we will get the full resolution of their story in the last book, so the trilogy will likely hang together better as a set than as individual stories. I'm actually more interested in the stories of Brock's brothers Charlie (a billionaire inventor) and Matt (a billionaire artist/writer), because as heroes go, Brock was kind and compassionate, but he wasn't all that much fun.

I didn't love it but I liked it, and this was a quick, easy Christmas romance with some steam. I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated and all opinions are my own.

Too good to be true

Erin is a tough hardworking mother to a great little boy, Ryan, who has really bad asthma. She met Brock, a doctor, through an online medical site that he volunteers at since his speacialty is respiratory illnesses. He helped her deal with her son's condition. He had lost his wife to cancer a couple of years before. He had finally healed enough to realize that he really liked Erin and decided to ask her on a date for her birthday. I'm still shocked at what he thought would be a great gift for someone he barely knows. I enjoyed this lovely story. It was very romantic and far to good to be true, but loved it any way.

What a sweet, wholesome second chance romance. The H/h were a good fit with good chemistry. The brothers as a whole are super sweet. Where can I find a sweet, hot, caring billionaire? Ryan super cute kid, loved how he couldn't pronounce his R' s. Brock and Erin are a cute couple, totally different social class but make the best couple. Both have came through their own tragedies and hardships to still be able to love. Free first book ends kinda weird just stops at a scene. Hea but clearly continues to next book and its Charlie's!!! Geek sweet up next

Loved Brock and Erin

I loved the personalities of both Brock and Erin. Ryan was so adorable too.

Reading about the pain Brock had hone through losing his wife, I could see how he would be reluctant to steer dating again.

Erin had been treated so badly by Jack who could blame her for being suspicious of anyone wanting her.

The Christmas setting made the story even more romantic. I really loved this book. I can't wait to read about Charlie and Matt.

After a rocky start i ended up really liking this one but it would have been nice to read about her reaction to his present at the end of the book instead of it just stopping where it did. It might continue in the second book for all I know, maybe I will read that one next Christmas and find out. I also thought it started off quite weak but got stronger as the story progressed. It was a nice little romance filled Christmas story.

I'm a sucker for a romance involving a good guy who is willing to have a relationship with a woman with a child or children. This book was sweet, heartwarming, and sexy. Although children's health issues were involved, they didn't weigh the book down with sadness. It took a very optimistic, proactive view.

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This story was pretty plain Jane. There was no build up no anticipation and it really didn't grab you emotionally. Sorry but I would not recommend it to others.

I read this book as part of the Making Merry Collection, it will tug your heartstrings and make you smile, as Erin and Brock work their way into a relationship.

Brock and his brothers maintain a charity called The Three Wise Men, they are devoted to children with asthma and other respiratory ailments. Brock is a consultant pediatrician, Charlie is a research scientist, he has created the child-size paraphernalia with attachments of Matt's characters to help ease their visits, and Matt is an author, he's responsible for the creation of the cute Ward Seven characters and writes the children's books about the journey with their illnesses.

Erin's son has asthma and once again he's in the hospital. She has utilized the Charity's website for parents to chat and ask questions every since Ryan was diagnosed. There's also a private chat window for discussions with doctors.

Brock is feeling low, it's the anniversary of his wife's death from breast cancer, he kept as busy as he could and now he's settling in with a drink and remembering. His brother's conference in with him and mention Erin's son is in the hospital again and she's been online, telling him he should check the site. They also confirm the hospital visits for the next day, which they do in costumes of the characters.

Erin and Brock have been talking online for over a year, and those conversations have progressed into a friendship rather than just a consultation type of interaction. This time though he asks for her number and speaks to her instead of just the instant message. Then he formulates a plan, to be the one to visit the hospital where her son is.

It's right after his rounds that Georgia has Erin meet with Brock in a conference room. He talks her into having coffee with him and makes his suggestion for her birthday weekend. Not one to stand still this one.

Much thought is given to the offer, two separate rooms, dinner and time to herself with a handsome man for company.

Brock's money and Erin's insecurities cause a few obstacles, Ryan is adorable and his interactions with Brock are priceless.

I loved the way this relationship grows and the way the story encompasses both their families. The chemistry between these two is practically explosive, there's laughter and plenty of it plus a bit of family angst.

I was going to put myself on a forced Serenity Woods hiatus because I am burning through her books at an alarming rate and don't want to read them all too quickly, but after reading Casanova and the Billionaire Kings series, I wanted to finally get the backstories of the Three Wise Men (who are the parents of the main characters in the Billionaire Kings series).

Brock is a widowed doctor (and billionaire) who specifically works with children. Erin is a single mother to a little boy, Ryan, who suffers with severe asthma. After speaking online for a year, Brock and Erin finally meet in person and Brock asks her to go on a weekend away with him for their first date, to celebrate her birthday. Erin is unsure whether things are moving too fast, and how their differing financial situations might affect any potential connection between them.

The relationship between Brock and Erin was a teensy bit too insta-love for me, personally. SW books do usually take place over a shorter time period, but most of the couples in her other books already know eachother as friends, so the relationship doesn't feel quite so rushed. Despite that, I have still given this five stars because I enjoyed this so much! It was great getting to properly meet Brock and Erin after seeing them as an older couple in the Billionaire Kings series, and I'm sad that I waited so long to start this series. The chemistry and sexual scenes between them were amazing as always. I love a single parent story, the interactions between Brock and Ryan in particular were adorable, and I'm so excited that the next two books are also single parent books. Yay!

The Perfect Gift, a perfect Christmas story

The Perfect Gift
Three Wise Men #1
Serenity Woods
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Serenity Woods has fast become a favourite author for me. This is the second book of hers I’ve read and I just adored it! The Perfect Gift is the perfect Christmas romance. A damaged man, a doctor, a broken life and a woman he’s never met. A mother, with a sick son, a blog and a chance meeting to change their lives.

Brock is a Doctor, he looks after sick children and comes from a past of devastation. He lost his sister when he was younger, and if that wasn’t cruel enough his wife died 2 years ago. He’s loved to help the Ward 7 kids, and their parents on the journey. He and his brothers, The Three Wise Men have created new machines to help children in hospital, created a line of characters kids love and have made books, but they are there for parents to ask those questions, get answers and have that support!

Erin is a single mum, she has her parents, otherwise it’s just her and gorgeous Ryan. The little man suffers asthma attacks, ones so bad he ends up hospitalised. This where Erin meets Brock but not in the normal way. Feeling like rock bottom, Erin discovers Brock is more then a Doctor, he’s a support, and a very sexy one at that! The pair have an instant chemistry, but he’s from money and wealth, Erin barely lives week to week.

Brock is out to prove money isn’t everything, life and love is way more important, and on a beautiful journey they find their happy ever after!

Erin Bloom is a single mom with a son who suffers from asthma. She's been participating on an online support group for the past year, where she's talked to Dr Brock King. Brock and his brothers are billionaires who call themselves the Three Wise Men (a little take on their names) and their business helps with asthma patients. When Erin's son, Ryan, has an attack, Brock visits him in the hospital and starts falling for Erin. But he's got baggage - his wife died two years ago from cancer and he vowed he'd never love anyone else. And Erin has not made the best choices in the men she's dated in the past, so is wary about all men now. This was a cute and sexy Christmas story set in New Zealand and is a nice diversion over the holidays.

When you loose someone, whether through death or estrangement, there is a period of time where the individual grieves, that time being different for each individual. The "alone time" is necessary, to put ones thoghts and emotions in their proper perspective, to come to terms with changes in the person's life and how others are now perceived.
This book has the two situations, one of death and another of estrangement, with two individuals that are now starting to realize that they need human contact on a different level. It is an interesting story, but I wonder if in the future years, whether the HEA portrayed would last.

Great Story

Brock and his brother's are billionaires. Brock is a Pediatrician and his other two brothers have great jobs also but they started a foundation that help children with medical care and special wishes. Brock's wife has passed away 2 years prior to cancer and he was feeling lost. Erin was raising her son alone and dealing with his Asthma the best she could, but having the extra animal characters that Brock and his brother's designed and use makes things easier. But Brock & Erin started talking a year before on the chat line they set up for parents and doctors to chat & help each other. But when they meet, wow.

Brock and Erin are complete opposites but he wants to be with her, can be convince her to be with him?

What does a billionaire doctor and philanthropist see in a single mom who barely has two cents to rub together? Brock and Erin have been talking online for about a year in a forum for parents of sick kids. But they have also talked in private messages also. Erin did not now she was talking to one of the King brothers because they all use pseudonyms when online. When she finds out who he really is, she wonders why he wants to be with her. As things progress can Brock convince her that he really believes that she wants to be with him for him and not his money ?

The Perfect Gift is the perfect story!

Oh, this is just the best story! My favorite thing about it is the way the MC's talk to each other. While there may be some hesitancy, they are always honest. This is a direct contrast to and relief from the ever popular notion so many romance authors utilize of having their characters play it coy, withhold information, and fail to converse.
There were a few word issues, and a minor continuity issue when she asked him his wife's name, although she already knew from reading his post in the online forum.
Such a good story and such good characters, though!

I have read a few books by author Serenity Woods and they continue to improve and the characters continue to intrigue me.

This book was interesting in the fact that the location of the book was set at Christmas, which was interesting to me since it was hot and has temperatures in the 90's during the holiday season. I liked the names of the cities, the scenery and the descriptions as well as the plot of the story. This book ends abruptly - the reader is left with an answer, but not with a complete story, if that makes sense. Not a bad book, but not my favorite.

The Perfect Gift is a sweet Christmas romance. You’ve got a down on her luck single mum who was abandoned by her boyfriend as soon as he found out she was pregnant. She’s been on her own for over three years. Brock is a widower whose wife died two years ago. He hasn’t even thought of moving on. The two have been chatting online for about a year, purely from a professional standpoint. Now, they finally meet and it’s the beginning of the end of the story. There are no surprises, just lots of sweetness.

The Perfect Christmas Romance

I loved this book for many reasons. First, I learned about a different culture, which I love doing. Secondly, I enjoyed the characters and that the billionaire was not the typical romance billionaire. He was flawed, damaged and real! I loved the relationship between mother and daughter, also very real! The story was short yet complete, which I appreciate. I am thrilled there are two more brothers, two more loves in two more stories. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a sweet realistic Christmas romance.
