What a book- any middle eastern will relate to this book . The anguish, pain & suffering that was endured the in the civil war even after their escape from Lebanon

I read this one within a few years of its publication date - and it has remained fresh in my memory ever since. I first read it via a local library loan before getting my hands on my own copy.
The interweaving stories of the four main female characters has kept me entranced whilst reading - and gave me impetus to explore the lives of real women from the period covered.
So, what's it all about ....
"Crescent traces the lives and loves of four women - Lelia, Camilla, Fatima and Anne. They are friends who should have been enemies, for they are, respectively, an ardent Palestinian, a Marionite Christian, a Shia Muslim and an American Jew. As the carefree days of their early womanhood in a poignantly beautiful Lebanon are eclipsed by the long and bloody wars in which their own children will be victims, the moving drama of their story shows that passion and friendship will outlive the worst that politics and violence can inflict."
The story will remain with you long after initial reading - you must read this book.
