In this new novella from bestselling author M.W. Griffith, available exclusively on Amazon Kindle, Montana Marrenger is about to discover that some legends are true…
When art appraiser Charles Livermore is found murdered in a copycat manner, a legendary curse resurfaces in the small town of Woodhurst. It’s said that an ancient artifact, a golden tortoise, will drive a man mad with murderous lust in order to attain it.
Piece by piece, Selena puts together the puzzle of Livermore’s murder. As she digs deeper into the circumstances of the crime, she begins to realize that not everything is as it seems in the sleepy little town.
Will Selena discover the truth between the lines of myth and reality before the killer strikes again?

The story is good, the characters are interesting, but how it is written and how the story goes from on part to the other is a bit confusing, besides that a FBI agent normally is always paired and is not working with a private investigator and also if somebody tries to shoot an FBI agent you should write about what happend ........or ? Confusing,as I said.

What about closure?

Another enjoyable read from this author! I do like the FBI agent in this series! At a short novella length, it was a quick, but satisfying length. A quick story, mostly abut greed and pain. The FBI agent is unintentionally paired with a younger self -- a tough, yet vulnerable, local PI.
