Furry Logic Laugh at Life

Rate this book
Designer and illustrator Jane Seabrook had a runaway winner with her first book, Furry Logic. Now here's her long-awaited follow-up title, Laugh at Life, offering another menagerie of cleverly rendered animals and the simple, yet-oh-so-deep ruminations that match these natural comedians. Seabrook possesses a wonderful gift for illustrating nature in incredible detail. Her artwork reflects a zoologist's understanding of animals matched with an illustrator's eye for color and human nature, and she deftly matches these appealing images with exactly the right quotations-and clever, funny ones at that-to convey the meaning she's after. Topics range from the challenges of relationships to the enjoyment of life's many and diverse pleasures. The result is a delightfully satisfying keepsake book that can be enjoyed on many levels and again and again. Just as Furry Logic did, Laugh at Life will captivate those who buy this book for themselves or as an adorable and cherished gift. It has a broad appeal, appropriate for multiple audiences and occasions.

A book that was picked up from a used bookstore and after having enjoyed the other one I chose to see what was included in this one.

Furry Logic Laugh At Life follows the same formula in which a brightly colored illustration of an animal is included on the page with some common quips added to such as Would you like to speak to the man in charge... or the woman who knows what's happening?, Lead me not into temptation, I can find the way myself and Don't get lost in the shuffle. Shuffle along with the lost. just as a few examples. They aren't magical or too funny although a few giggles may ensue if you are feeling it.

The book has a bunch of negative space not taken up by the words or the illustrated animal model but it doesn't take away from the book. Instead it allows colored backgrounds to be used in some areas along with full spread illustrations in others to offset these more average entries.

All in all it was a decent and quick read that although not the best in humor does give the reader a break for a bit and one that more often they may agree with.

A humorous book of quotations with amazing drawings of a diverse group of animals. Good for the office desk when you need a break from the busy day. Less than a five minute read.

This is just a collection of photos with captions. A couple led me to chuckle. I liked the list of animals which were illustrated, the best.
