In 2006, he received the Kodansha Manga Award for shōnen for Air Gear. Apart from working with manga, he designed some of the alternate character outfits in the PlayStation 2 version of Namco's 3D fighting game Tekken 5, and a guest character in Soul Calibur IV named Ashlotte.
His pseudonym "Oh! great" is a play on words. Air Gear Review
If you like skating then you'll love this book, and if you don't like it then you will after you read it. In this book it is a world where skating is top priority, close people get together and form skate teams and rise to the top, but it's not as easy as it seems just getting a team is hard enough for Ikki, the main character, you have to be ready to be life partners, and rely on each other on life and death situations. I liked this book because I like skating I don't skate but I would go in favor of it. Whats good about this book is that it has huge amount of action in it, and that's awesome. And the book is really funny and really serious to me. Its another cool thing about the book is that it is also somewhat adventurous. So these things are what you would expect in this book.
In the beginning, Ikki has trouble finding good team mates but eventually he does there is Ikki the leader of their Team Kogarasumaru, Kazu, Agito/Akito who has 2 personalities, Buccha, and Onigiri, these guys go through some serious battles. Through the story each team has a goal to get to the top of all other teams and that's not gonna take a few months you have to put your soul in it and everyone is trying their hardest, to win the ranks to move to the next class. Ikki and his gets challenged by a B ranked team and they're only D rank, but that doesn't stop them they take on the team and it seems that team kogarasumaru is tougher than they look. The battle is so raging but this is not just a match for rank it's also a match of the past, because Agito the good side of the 2 faces the leader of their team and that leader was known to have killed Akito the bad side even though one side is bad and one side is good they both like each other so it was a really good battle. The thing is this book they battle on skates they all have their own inner beast, but they have to unleash it and control it, this story has the best action and the best fights I have come across so far, the battle between team kogarasumaru has not been determined yet but sparks were flying in it.
The next thing I like about the book is the how serious it can be while being funny at the same time. Like when Ikki was fighting the high ranked team I talked in the last paragraph, that was really serious match, it showed their pride, but it was also funny some ways too. Like the time when Ikki was fighting a member of the team, they actually were battling while playing rock paper scissors, it was funny because the loser got punched or kicked really hard, and ikki kept winning, so the other guy was really frustrated. but when the other guy finally won and threw a punch, ikki dodged and punched him back, and told him "I never said you couldn't dodge the hits dumba", and I thought that was really funny. There was also a time when ikki was skating up a building to get skill and fell in the women's bath house, and he came out really bloody I was really laughing at that. So this can be serious and funny at the same time so its worth reading.
The Final thing I wanna talk about in this book is that it is somewhat of the adventurous type. Because there is also more on being top skaters, you need to obtain ancient artifacts that famous skaters used. There were eight parts that you needed the name of these parts were not told, but they depending which one you had it increased a certain ability. All together they seriously increased Speed, Attack, Defense, Mind, Air Power, Beast Power, Spirit, and Life. Each one was possessed by a famous and all powerful skater, and all teams were after it, and they would have to work together to get even one because its told that 3 high ranked teams couldn't stand up to someone who help even one of these artifacts. So If I were you I would wanna see the who gets the artifact.
In my concluding statement, I would like to say that this has actually made me want to skate, and you should read it if you have not done so already. Because this book has awesome action, the best I've seen yet in all my reading, and watching, on books, and shows. It's also really funny, I would read it again just for the laughs, and its serious, and it's at the same time but not all the time. And this book also has some really good adventure parts in it, and I like some adventure in my books. So these are all the things you can get prepared to read in this awesome book which I find really awesome. So what are you waiting for go ahead find it and read it this book.

Más acción, comedia, intrigas y todo lo que venían ofreciendo los tomos anteriores. Eso sí, en un momento un personaje se vuelve invisible (o más bien, imperceptible), y para explicar cómo lo logra muestran un ejemplo de cómo poniendo una ciruela blanca dentro de una botella apuntada por dos linternas que se vuelve invisible entre las luces cruzadas. Seguí sin entender, así que en algún momento habré de buscar dos linternas y una ciruela blanca para sacarme la duda.

The thing about this series is that it gets repetitive real fast. I also think that the "humour" gets tired extremely fast (it's offensive in a lot of places and I'm not really fond of how a lot of jokes hinge on sexual harrassment of the female characters/annoying fanservice). It's a shame, really, because I really like the art style and the general concept of the story, but the story just gets boring.
