There are two story lines in this detective novel, I like the story line with a novelist-wannabe struggling to prove his worth and how he got tangled with a messy case of a woman getting murdered in a hotel. This part is pretty well written. I like how it is mentioned that in order to write novels which can touch the readers, you must draw your own blood to write things down.......(you know what I'm talking about, right?)

The other story line about the cops investigating the murder case isn't bad neither, but then! The final plot twist is too messy and too unbelievable! So, 2.8 stars only.
