The Code boldly presents readers with a true, workable solution for the challenges facing our world today. Based on a new Code of Conduct that anyone can relate to, it is full of real life stories uniquely designed first, to help readers become selfempowered and more proficient at manifesting so that they are no longer at the mercy of people and forces outside themselves, and second, to provide a simple triedandtrue format for coming together in community to create peace, freedom, and the high quality living environment that everyone longs for and deserves. Tony Burroughs was living and farming in Hawaii when a mentor came to him and, over the course of fifteen years, taught him lessons he simply referred to as "The Information." Burroughs and two others formed a spiritual circle to practice the lessons provided by the mentor and distilled them into a "personal honor code" available to all people wishing to prepare for a time of great change. The time is now at hand and Burroughs, along with thousands of others who have formed "Intenders Circles" throughout the world, is sharing a simple and powerful that which you are reaching toward is also reaching out toward you. The practice is, literally, as easy as one, two, 1) say your intentions out loud daily, 2) go to an Intenders Circle, and 3) state that, in order for your intentions to manifest, they must serve the Highest and Best Good of the Universe, yourself, and everyone concerned. Since there are no limits on what you can think about, there are no limits on what you can intend.
I really liked this book. It's the first thing I've read by Tony Burroughs, and it's very original. Along with others in his "Intenders Circle," he has created a Code which results in personal fulfillment while at the same time creating a better world for all of us to live in.
The code includes the following 10 "intents" which he goes on to explain in detail throughout the rest of the book:
1. Support life 2. Seek truth 3. Set your course 4. Simplify 5. Stay positive 6. Synchronize 7. Serve others 8. Shine your light 9. Share your vision 10. Synergize
Throughout the book, in addition to the text, he provides what looks like hand-written notes that contain some truly valuable information. For example, in discussing the intent to support life, he notes:
"When we realize that we are becoming exactly like those we oppose, shouldn't that be reason enough for us to stop opposing them?"
He also provides poems in each section that relate to the intent he is discussing. For instance, in discussing the third intent (set your course), he includes the following as part of a longer poem:
"Our thoughts and words are powerful. They are active and very energetic. Used unconsciously or with disrespect they bring chaos."
This is a book that will grab your intention and cause you to think about things in a new way. I would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to achieve their highest good and help the rest of the world do the same.
This is right along the same line as The Secret - if you "think positively" than everything you want will be yours. I have a lot of issues with that simplistic line of thinking and this book falls into that trap of a = b. I DO believe that being able to transform our negative "self-talk" and start to move out into the world in a more integrated, grateful, open-hearted way will most definitely bring us more delights and riches than we could ever imagine, but Tony Burroughs story is Tony's story. Yours and mine look differently and any book that says they have THE ONLY WAY is lying to you. Read it for the good stories, or don't, but don't treat this like it's some kind of gospel.
I am a bit spooked by this book. It is very new agy yet has many very old and true feeling truths in it. It is wonderful to think our positive, highest good thoughts could bring about a new better world for everybody. That is a bit of a stretch in my book, but I do believe that if we choose to think uplifting things our own life will surtainly be happier. This book is surtainly food for thought!
His interpretations of others teacher's work, but he doesn't give much credit. The lessons are good, but he is not the sole creator, and to imply that is disingenuous.
AND, if you haven't had exposure to Abraham Hicks, or Seth or Michael, or Miguel Ruiz or any other manifestors then you might really like the book. (also 10 intentions is so many to remember).
