This is the second issue in this retelling of Macbeth and I have to say it's intriguing. I do know the story of Macbeth and think it's a bit of a crazy one (as with most Shakespeare plays) but this is definitely taking a few twists and turns from the original on order to be more exciting. We follow the story from the three Witches point of views and I do have to say that I definitely think they're exciting characters to follow as they were my favourite element from the original Macbeth play. They have magic and an affinity for certain creatures, prophecies and elements is seems and you see more of this unveiled in this issue. We also get a lot more of an overall plot starting to take shape here and the artwork is lovely once more. I already own issue three and will give it until issue #5 probably to get up to 4* as it's currently at a 3.5* and if it doesn't succeed I may end up stopping there, but I think this has brilliant potential so I want to keep up with it for now at least! Likeable and intriguing - 3.5*s overall so far
I'm not the most familiar with Macbeth but... should it be this difficult to figure out what's going on? It seems like it's being overcomplicated. But the art is still nice, and this is at least better than the first issue. It's not something I'd read for fun.
Riata, Cait, and Smertae set out to ensure a new King; the only problem is who shall become King when Smertae aims to save Macbeth and Riata aims to strike him down.
The battle continues and like issue #1 we continue to desire the outcome the fates foresee.
