The golden domes and glittering lights of wintertime Moscow hide a dark side—Kremlin corruption, debauched nightclubs and the Russian underworld’s hold on the capital city. Former Navy SEAL Tom Wolf, en route to Kazakhstan to witness a Soyuz launch, is given a coded ledger by a beautiful woman. Pursued across two continents by contract killers determined to recover the mysterious book, Wolf discovers his own government’s role in putting him at risk. Battling ruthless enemies in Washington, DC, California, and Brooklyn’s “Little Odessa” comes with a heavy cost to those around him. Only the help of his friend, retired Green Beret Sam McFadden, gives Wolf hope that he might escape those determined to retrieve the book and kill him.

Have read all the Wolf series to date and think the author is way better than Tom Clancy. This book was a surprise. It started slow with the two principles being pretty shallow and sophomoric. It quick!y progressed to a highly nuanced and complex tale that captures much of today's headlines and fears. It reveals a hidden enemy that is way too real. Can't wait for the next saga.
