Committed to the rule of law, vampire Brannick falls hard for a beautiful fae who illegally seduces him in his dreams…

Juliet Tunney stared at Brannick for a long, difficult moment. Something had happened just now, but she didn’t know what and she was afraid she’d say the wrong thing. So, she remained silent, watching him carefully.

She could hardly breathe. She suspected it might have to do with their secret bedroom activities, but his dream-self had sworn her never to reveal the truth. The real-time Brannick wasn’t supposed to know what they did together in her fae dreamglide.

Yet here they were, face-to-face, and it looked like he’d just remembered one or more of their shared dreamgliding experiences.

Brannick works with Juliet Tunney to help several human women escape the nightmare of Five Bridges. But something isn’t right. Juliet acts as though she knows him really well, yet he’s only met her once. Unless…the dreams he’s been having about her aren’t dreams at all. When a sensual dream surfaces in vivid images and sounds, he knows something’s up with the beautiful fae woman from Revel Territory. And if what he suspects is true, Juliet has a lot to answer for.

Juliet fell hard for Brannick the night she first signed on to help out with his rescue operation. She even violated a serious Revel Territory law by invading his dreams. What she hadn’t expected was how readily he took her up on her illegal dreamgliding offer. With her special fae abilities, she’s been his secret lover for five months. Sworn to withhold the nature of their dream-relationship from Brannick’s conscious mind, she faces the hard truth that she’s in danger of losing him forever because she broke the law. Once the truth surfaces, will Brannick ever be able to forgive her?

DARK FLAME continues the journey into the alter world of Five Bridges, a dangerous cordoned off world of five territories at war. Each territory is dominated by alter beings: vampires, witches and warlocks, wolves, fae and deadtalkers.

DARK FLAME is a standalone, passionate, paranormal romance, featuring a vampire and a fae, along with ghosts, wolves and wizards, dead-talkers, and witches, all set in the urban world of Five Bridges.

As of 2019, Caris Roane is a New York Times bestselling author and has published 90 works of fiction, forty of which are paranormal romances featuring passionate warriors often with fangs.

I confess I've had a love affaire with vampires for several years now, especially warrior vampires, the kind found in the books of Sherrilyn Kenyon, Lara Adrian and JR Ward. Though I've been published in Regency Romance under the pseudonym Valerie King--and yes one of my Regency Novellas features a vampire--one day I woke up knowing I had to create my own contemporary world of the warrior vampire.

For some mystical, magical reason, early in the process, my vampires appeared with enormous beautiful wings and it has been the most amazing experience to include flight in my novels, in both battle scenes and scenes involving spectacle. My special vampire world, published by St. Martin's Press, is introduced in the first book called, ASCENSION (12-28-2010). The second book, BURNING SKIES (May of 2011), opens up the world a little bit more. And even as I write this, I'm on the final draft of my third novel, WINGS OF FIRE (September of 2011). What a thrill it has been to live with my ascended vampires through the creation of this extraordinary, multi-dimensional world!

For more information about my unique take on the vampire mythos, check out my website at carisroane.com and my book release video on YouTube by putting in the search phrase, Caris Roane Ascension.

With every hope you'll enjoy reading my books set in the World of Ascension, All my best, Caris Roane

Ms Roane continues her Flame series with a much longer story that had me bouncing up and down for joy! I'm constantly amazed by her unusual ideas for stories and to get even more word count makes me very happy indeed. This is the third book but I do believe it can be read as a standalone as the author info drops ( happily without banging existing readers over the head!) enough world building and explanations to bring this story to life.
In the land of five bridges all manner of creatures coexist. Once they were human but due to the drug known as Flame they are forever transformed and for many the consequences are truly heart breaking. When vampire Brannick was infected his wife and children didn't survive and even his remaining relatives got caught up in the mess. Now he is stronger than before but self contained and woe betide any who get in his way!
Juliet left her human life behind when she forever altered to become a Fae . Now she's one of those seeking to rescue the humans living a nightmare in Revel territory. Sex and drugs trafficking is something both Brannick and Juliet are determined to stop but Juliet has a secret that Brannick is about to discover and it's one that too terrible to ever forgive or is it?
Well the author sure has surpassed herself here with her ideas on dream glide sex! Ive read about dream walking but Ms Roane just takes the idea and adds her naughty side giving readers a steamy read . I loved that the couple joined forces and "shared" so much between them. Their alter abilities may be different but together they truly enhance each other making them much stronger. There's a villain to boo and hiss at and even a little subplot involving the wolves. Best of all though was seeing this couple trust each other and fall in love. Oh and Brannick finally gets to lay to rest his past which felt very emotional.

Dark Flame is the 3rd book in Caris Roane's Flame series. While you could read this book as a stand alone it would be easier to understand the world if you start from the beginning.

This book centers around Juliet a Fae and Brannick a vampire. Once again the backdrop is the cartels and their sex and drug trade involving the illegal flame drug. Both Juliet and Brannick are involved in an underground movement to save human girls who have been kidnapped for the slave trade in Five Bridges. Brannick is on the front lines and Juliet operates in the background so the two have only met each other once. However, when Juliet has to step up on one of the missions and comes face to face with Brannick he feels like he's known her for a long time and has flashes of some very intimate dreams.

This is because Juliet has been dream gliding with Brannick. She entered his dreams illegally and seduced him and has been having a relationship with him in his dreams for 5 months but his conscience mind is unaware of this. (I had a bit of a hard time with this). Apparently Brannick doesn't really remember the dreams once he wakes up until he comes face to face with Juliet. Juliet knows she shouldn't have entered his dreams and knows that Brannick wouldn't like this (or at least his waking self wouldn't).

I did however, really enjoy the internal struggle Brannick had once he remembered that his subconscious was completely on board with the relationship. It was interesting to see the different views of a Brannick with no inhibitions and fears in the dream gliding and his conscious self who had to deal with his fears of loss and putting those he loved in danger.

While the relationship between Brannick and Juliet is front and center the conflict between the two and the cartels wasn't much different then the two books before. Both Juliet and Brannick start to share their powers although we the readers don't know why this is happening. I'd like a little more info on the overall picture of why suddenly couples from other races are bonding and sharing powers. Once again the woman in the relationship takes on some aggressive tendencies from the "vampire" side and insists on going after the bad guy.

The characters are all unique but the development of the relationships between the couples is becoming so familiar that I know exactly what is going to happen and I hope that in the future there are some differences to set the couples relationships apart.

All in all still an enjoyable edition to the series but I am hoping for more information on an overall story ark and some changes to the way all the relationships are developing.

Once more we see the coming together of a couple from 2 different species. It is now becoming obvious to all involved that there is something at play in their Alter world. Making things much more complicated are the cartels, their variations of the flame drug and their sex slave trade. Juliet and Brannick play their role by trying to get as many of the human girls out of Five Bridges. Even though they have not spoken since their first meeting, Brannick feels as if he knows Juliet... intimately. His dreams are plagued with her but he can't explain the familiarity he feels.

Juliet on the other hand knows the reason why. She's been dreamgliding with him... illegally. Brannick has sworn off intimate relationships because his past is proof that his work endangers the people he loves. Unfortunately his unconscious self is in a hot and heavy relationship with Juliet. But then Roche kidnaps Mary, a close friend of theirs and Juliet is his next target because of her fae abilities. Brannick and Juliet are forced together in real time and very soon his conscious and unconscious selves begin to merge. What he discovers sends him flying away from Juliet. But he soon discovers that Juliet is a lot more important to him than any vow he has ever made.

I received a copy from the author for an honest review.

I am loving these books!! The world is so intriguing, it's like ours but a little different. And the characters are so well written it's like I've known them my whole life and I miss them once the book is over. The best part is that these could be stand alone books, a character or two might show up or be talked about but it's nothing that leaves you confused or anything. It would make you wonder about their story but that's about it.

13-years ago, Robert Brannick became an alter-vampire he took his intense anger on a rampage that led to his entire family being killed; as a Revel border guard he found a purpose for his undead life. A fae helped him smuggle abused females from the sex clubs across the US border. Five months ago, he had to get help from alter-fae, Juliet Tunney to continue the work. He knew Juliet was powerful but he didn’t realize how powerful until he recognized a thought as a memory!

When asked, Juliet confessed to sharing dreams with Bran and the most notoriously powerful and corrupt fae, Roche is trying to manipulate her into dream sharing in his sex clubs. As they talk, Bran’s anger dims as those dreams surface. While Juliet and Bran talk Roche and his thugs attack and when Bran and Juliet retaliate, they become aware of a new bond between them that allows them to utilize each other’s powers.

Bran and Juliet win the battle but Bran’s (im)-mortally wounded, his friends Emma and Vaughn come to treat him. Roche isn’t willing to give up his quest to control Juliet and her power and gives her an ultimatum. With help from their friends, Bran and Juliet take the war to Roche’s door.

DREAM ON. 🔥🔥🔥

Another wonderful read from the mind of Mrs Roane.
I found this story highly entertaining from start to finish.
Juliet a Fae & Brannick a Vampire, are the next couple whom come together in the world of Life, Love & War against the corrupt evilness of the city Five Bridges.
All the 4/5 star review's are just another true example of why I would recommend this book to one & all.
Loved it.
Can't wait to read more about Fergus & Mary.

The story of Brannick and Juliet make a very unlikely couple she is very philisophical and full of soft edges and Brannick is a very hard edged and strictly by the book kind of man. Both suffering from their pasts especially Brannick neither one of them want anything to do with a relationship for their own reasons but end up in one together despite their intentions and in the strangest wy. Juliet worries because of the way their relationship started out and that if Brann finds out that he will hate her forever, Brann torn between two worlds of his own struggles with his feelings and possible outcomes. Meanwhile the two of them face extraordinary obstacles and henchmen that want them either dead or to themselves because of their secret partnership in helping abducted, bruised, battered, and abused girls being used in the illegal sex trade of the alter cities. Juliet and Brann have been helping rescue girls for a long time secretly getting them out of the alter territories and back into the human territories for months but this one mission puts them together for the first time since Juliet joined the team. Twists and turns about included the beginnings of another possible love match when the two join forces with friends to rescue Mary a friend and cohort of theirs and some new news on anther flame drug that is said to exist but no one has ever seen it. This twist of the new flame drug definitely peaked my interest and can't wait to hear more about this new twist. While most stories have their happily ever after you have to read to the very end to see how this one turns out and see if the two will ultimately work out their differences and overcome all that they have been through to make a go of their relationship. If you want a nice, quick read and a book that keeps you guessing you should definitely pick this one up. Can be read on it's own but since each character in it appears at least a little in most of the other stories as supporting characters I would recommend starting with book one but it's not necessary though. Loved this book and Caris is a wonderful author, so excited to read the next one in the series.

Brannick is falling for Juliet, a beautiful fae woman only to find out that she illegally seduced him in his dreams in this bewitching paranormal romance.

Juliet fell hard for Brannick and couldn’t resist invading his dreams even if it did break Revel Territory law and the reader can’t help but get caught up in the sparks and passion that flows from every page as Juliet and Brannick struggle to straddle the world they live in and the world of dreams. The attraction between Brannick and Juliet is explosive but the relationship is hampered by Brannick’s commitment to the rule of law and both of their emotional issues that stem from their transformation into an alter human which causes quite a few turbulent clashes. A fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps readers on the edge with lots of suspense, action, turmoil and romance while the strong compelling characters grab the reader’s attention from the very beginning.

Not only does Brannick and Juliet’s clandestine activities and personal life cause lots of tension, but there is an enemy that is coming for Juliet and he will use her dreams against her causing lots of excitement throughout the story with some exhilarating battles. Vivid images bring the story to life as the well-orchestrated events draw the reader in and refuse to let go.

Once again, visiting Five Bridges was an electrifying experience and Juliet and Brannick certainly know how show readers a good time with some unexpected twists and surprising abilities that add quite a bit of spice. I was totally captivated by their story and they captured my heart while fighting through their pain and it seems that things are about to get even more interesting in Five Bridges with their new covert plans, (which are off to a good start with that remarkable battle) so of course I will be waiting impatiently for Amber Flame’s release.

One thing about reading a series is that by the time you are in several books later you have a good sense of what is what with additional characters enriching it. This one can also be read by itself and still know what is happening because of the background that will told for the two characters and where they are in accordance of each event. Juliet has taken the place of the regular driver for his network that rescues women but he has images of her before he is face to face with her. Brannick knows something is off and it just doesn't happen with the rescue especially when she says his name. What she has done is such a violation that has serious consequences but he has told her in the dream state not to tell his awake state it all. she on the other hand fell hard after the first time they met and when she stumbles onto his dream and he did not refuse that was the start of it all. They both also have special abilities thanks to their natures but a war is also ongoing where they are. both having been alone for so long when they came together something special began. It will also begin in the waking time but it will also lead to them changing, gaining parts of each other to build on their abilities like a couple of other couples before them. Such unlikely unions also with that being said is one of the reasons their story makes for some intriguing reading. She does fill it with heat that will consume them both. Even when the truth is exposed it will already have reached the point of no return. Their is the one enemy that will be the one they go against from the beginning in this that will be vile and dangerous. Other characters will lend their color to this that in a whole it is one captivating adventure that if your not careful will burn you.

I was gifted an ARC of this book for an honest review...OMG The Best One Yet!!!

In this 3rd book of The Flame Series by Caris Roane, we get to meet Robert Brannick and Juliet and their story in the Five Bridges. Brannick works for the Crescent Border patrol, he is an alter vampire, and has made his time in Five Bridges a mission to rid the evils of the area. He lost his family to the Dark Flame and some evil witches.

Juliet Tunney is an alter fae from the Revel Territory and has been seducing Robert Brannick for 5 months in his dreams. It is called dreamgliding and is illegal but Brannick engaged the dreams also, well maybe he subconscious did.

Having been dreamgliding for months, Brannick starts to have memories surfacing of exotic dreams of Juliet in his real time.

Juliet is once again being targeted by Roche to work as his sex slave. He is trying to get to her through the dreamgliding, will he succeed?

As Brannick and Juliet along with Fergus from the Savage Territory, embark on a mission to rescue the woman held by Roche and his men. Will they succeed in the mission or fail? Also what happens when Brannick starts to remember more of his time with Juliet in the dreamglide. They also discover that their powers are transferring to each other. What will that mean?

Come along for a fast paced, intense, wonderful story of a unique Love and how it comes to be, and what it can do. Fantastic, Loved it.

In this third book of The Flame Series, Caris Roane has expanded the world of Five Bridges, the alter world located in North Phoenix, AZ. There are some similarities to the Blood Rose Series, yet they manifest differently. And she is such a masterful storyteller that the reader is drawn in completely. I love reading her books, and this one ranks near the top.
Robert Brannick, an alter vampire, is an officer in the Crescent Border Patrol and helps run an "underground railroad" that liberates women held against their will by the cartels. On the last transport, the regular driver, Mary, was a no show and Juliet, a powerful alter fae, filled in for her. Robert was attracted to Juliet at her interview five months earlier, but has a no strings policy after the deaths of his wife and children thirteen years earlier to the alter drug laced soda they drank. The same soda that changed him into a vampire. He now feels like he knows Juliet better than he should after only one meeting and is puzzled as memory fragments of time spent together begin to come to him.
To Juliet, Robert is a man at war with himself, his conscious self who resists her vs the subconscious self who has met her in dreams for the past five months. And she is afraid if he ever learns the truth of what they've been doing and how it began, it will all come to an end.

Kindly provided by the author with an ARC in exchange for an honest review......

Oh Caris, how do you manage to consistently keep producing these FABULOUS story lines ?......I'll tell you because you are one hell of a writer !!!

Praise over.....now to the story...

This is book 3 in the series and is Juliet and Brannick's book and beleive me when I say they REALLY tries not to become involved with each other, but alas (or should I say thank the lord) Fate has other plans !.

If you have not read books 1 & 2 you can read book 3 as it is a standalone. But I would really urge you to read the first books as they are so very well written. They are MUST reads for lovers of paranormal romance.

Bran is a vampire, for that alone he cranks a 10 on the HOTNESS scale for me !!. Juliet is a witch, but both of them at their core are protectors !. This story is FULL of twists and building passion. Bran really is not ready (or so he thinks) for more with any female after his loss....that is until Juliet who is trying not to let him remember too much. Ermmmm sounds like a plot, doesn't it ?. Well it is !!!

From start to finish the story flows, plenty of witty humor and Caris' continues to draw you into another realm where the paranormal exists and you wish you were part of that too !!

Many thanks for the opportunity. I am pleading for book 4 to be Fergus' story xxx

Well done Caris.

Later peeps xxx

Hold onto your ereaders as we travel again to the Five Bridges world. The land where shifters, fae, vampire, witches and dead-talkers are separated from the human population, and themselves; co-operation between the species is not done. However, things are changing in Five Bridges, as some of the inhabitants start to work together against the drug and sex trade. In Dark Flame, we meet Juliet and Brannick, both had nasty conversions into alter beings, but Brannick especially. Border patrol officer Brannick is a vampire, working underground to save human women and send them back to Arizona. Fae Juliet signed on to help in the one meeting in person they had. When they meet in person again, Brannick is floored by the passionate scenes he's imagining about Juliet. With dreamslide as one of the fae's powers, Juliet is terrified Brannick will remember everything about the last five months. He's so invested in the rule of law, and she's broken it...but who could blame her? In a high action adventure, one of the powers that be in Revel is determined to have Juliet at any cost. As we travel deeper into the mire of Revel Territory, the added world-building is smoothly worked into the story, much to my delight. With a return of some old friends and some interesting twists, Dark Flame is an extremely fluid, well-written story. Can't wait for Fergus' story!

Dark Flame is book #3 of Caris Roane's Flame Series.
The last two books in the series it was a Vampire with a Witch, this time we introduce the Fae. Although reading the first two books are a little helpful to get the lay of the land, it's not necessary to read Dark Flame. It's easily read as a stand-alone story.
So the story ... this whole series has the hot, hot, hot sex scenes. Got some new variables that go with the Fae, but in some spots, get me a fan. For the most part it's part of the story and flows nicely and goes to the thoughts of actions of the characters.
The whole story moves along at a nice pace as we head towards the HEA. You know they happen, it is how the characters get there that gives meaning to the stories. I've enjoyed every one of Ms. Roane's stories, no matter which series it is and the 'world' created will keep your interest as you move through the story towards the HEA. I'm looking forward to book #4, because it doesn't have a vamp as the hero, we get to delve into the shifter end of Five Bridges.
After this one, you can go back and catch the other two stories to get some additional background. Somewhere along the line, all the characters will end up together, so might as well learn how their story begins.

Dark flame is the story of Brannick and Juliet. He is a vampire and one of the few beings fighting corruption and evil in five bridges. With the backing of his friends and trusted allies he has a small but dedicated organization trying to right wrongs in their corrupt world. Juliet is a fae alter and one of those trusted allies that Brannick brought on board to help. Her passion for wanting to do good and her fighting spirit made him trust her immediately. She is a beautiful, alluring fae woman but Brannick has old wounds that make him avoid relationships. Fate, a hasty decision in a moment of loneliness, and a powerful fae ability make the lines blur a bit. Despite his better judgment Brannick may just not have a choice. With a powerful enemy coming for her and only his fear holding him back, Brannick has to heal his old wounds. The pace is fast, the characters are great and you can't help but feel for them. With powerful foes and twists galore the story keeps you on the edge of your seat. My only complaints are that the dream gliding was kind of confusing and could have been explained better. And the whole split self aspect of the relationship was kind of weird. Otherwise, I liked it and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. Copy gifted in exchange for an honest review.

Juliet Tunney is helping make Five Bridges a better place. She's an alter fae who is helping human woman escape their imprisonment in the sex clubs. She is working with Border Patrol Officer Robert Brannick. He lost his family to the Flame drugs and the lawlessness. This drug turned him into a vampire. He was mad with grief. Now this is his way of easing his pain. Juliet is in love with him, but he doesn't know that in her dream glide they are lovers. What happens now that they are working closely together? Juliet is a wonderful woman. She cares for Brannick and wants to help him, but she knows that she will loose him when he finds that she entered his dreams. As they grow closer, she lives in fear. Robert is guilt ridden by his loss. He can't put the past behind him. He doesn't want to love anyone because he may be hurt again. These two are perfect together. They compliment each other and mingle their powers. I wanted them to be partners and lovers forever. Caris Roane has written a fast-paced and suspenseful story filled with interesting characters. I was intrigued by Fergus. I hope that will learning more about him. I'm enjoying The Flame Series and am looking forward to many more adventures.

I'm seriously torn on this world. I like parts of it A LOT, but I'm also weirdly squicked out by other parts. Like the forced drug use and women being kidnapped and enslaved to work in sex clubs. Since the good guys are resolutely working against the icky stuff, I guess the author did a good job. But still. Those bad guys are BAD.

As for Brann and Juliet...they didn't have the best start to their relationship. Mostly because Juliet did a no-no when she seduced him in his dreams. So, they have that to work through. Plus, Brann blows sort of hot and cold. One side of him doesn't give a fig about what laws Juliet broke to bring them together. The other is weirdly uptight about it. Well, not weirdly. He is an officer of the law. He should uphold the law even when smokin' hot fae women are seducing him.

It's still hard to have him going from being all into her to giving her the cold shoulder.

Throw in a dangerous criminal, a even more dangerous rescue, and a werewolf who can't control his howl and you end up with a darn good time. Even with the sex clubs and illicit drugging. Jerky bad guys. They really need to get what's coming to them. ALL OF THEM.

This is the third book in the Flame series and can be read as a standalone, but really, why would you? All of these books are simply amazing, with storylines that will wow you with their intricacy and detail.

Dark Flame is about Brann and Juliet. They met in 'real time' just once, but have been meeting up in Dreamglides since then. When they meet in real time again, Brann starts to remember things that he's sure never happened. Well, they did but in their Dreamglide.

Roche is an evil piece of work that even the Drug Cartels are miffed at. The Shifters hate him as too many of their females are taken and killed, so they are more than happy to assist Bran and Juliet when the time comes.

There is a little side story of Mary and Fergus that we have snippets of, and I really can't wait to learn more about them both.

Well-written and action-packed, this is an excellent addition to the Flames series. Highly recommended.

I have enjoyed the two previous books in the series, but I had a hard time with this one. I liked the overall story, and where Roane is leading the main plot, but I was pretty disturbed by the fact that the female lead, Juliet, has sexual intercourse with the male lead while he was asleep, and that it's pretty much never addressed. I mean, it's rape, no matter how much he enjoyed it after he woke up. She took the decision to "ride" someone she barely met without knowing if he wanted it or not. The fact it happened in a dreamglide doesn't lessen the thing. Actually, I wonder where is the difference between that and what the bad guy was making female fae do while drugged. You can't judge consent when someone is drugged or asleep.

I read that kind of romances to follow a story where two good people love and respect each other, and manage to combine their strength to fight a despicable person. I hadn't expected one of the romance lead to be nearly as despicable. I'm pretty distressed and I'm not sure I'm going to keep on reading the series.

This book is the Third book in the Flame Series, it is a well written book and as always Caris had done an amazing job describing the world of Five Bridges as well as the characteristics and personalities of the characters. Even though this book is part of a series I feel that it could be read on it's own and you wouldn't be lost as to what was going on and around in the book.

In this book you meet Border Patrol Officer Brannick, who is a Vampire, and a powerful Fae Juliet, she breaks the law in order to seduce Brannick who has to idea about. As they forge on together to find a missing Fae, Mary, Juliet is realizing that must tell Brannick what she has done, however, she fears losing him. Throughout the book each of them must face their own ordeals in order to move forward and bring some kind of peace into their world.

I loved this book just like I like all of the books Caris has written so far and I look forward to the next installment of this series.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Dark Flame is the third book in the Flame series .It can be read as a stand alone but I highly recommend reading the series in order so that you can get the most enjoyment .Caris Roane has created an amazingly vivid world with fantastic characters .This story and the others in this series are completely new and fresh unlike any other paranormal you have read before . In this story we have Juliet and alter fae and Brannick a police officer and an alter vampire .They have been working on the same team for awhile though have only met in person once. Juliet has been dream gliding Brann for months now one night when they are both working an operation Brannick realizes the sexy dreams he's been having of Juliet are more than just dreams .Both of these two have issues that must be worked through and lots of twists and turns that keep you reading to see what will happen next. This was a great story and I highly recommend it.

Wow! I loved this third installment to the series. Well written and sexy. Robert Brannick is an Alter Vampire that lost his wife and children when they all drank soda that had been tampered with using Alter Serum. He cannot let go of his past. Juliet is an Alter Fae and joined Brannicks cause to save human women by smuggling them out of the five realms. She fell in love with him when she met him for the interview and did a big illegal no no by dreamgliding with him. Robert cannot admit he is falling for her as he feels the guilt from his past. Between the romance, the hot & sexy scenes and the fight to save Juliet, this book will keep you hooked.

I was given this e-book by the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. My conclusions are my own. I was not compensated in any way.

This book is amazing!! I have a super busy life and I was so mad I hadn't been able to sit down and read this book as soon as I got it. Well I decided on Friday to take a peak! I was hooked!! I only put the book down when I absolutely had to. Once again Caris does an amazing job of story telling. This book makes you want more. The instant attraction between Brann and Juliet is hot and sizzling. You could feel the sex and love jump off the page at you.

The villain in this story is equally dark and disturbing. Roche is a nasty vile creature. One reason I didn't want to put the book down was because I wanted to see him get his come up ins! I also loved that she hinted to the next book with Fergus! The Wolf Alpha! I cannot wait for his book too!

If you loved the other 2 books in this series this installment won't disappoint!

First of all, I have loved this entire series and it just keeps getting better. In Dark Flame, the world is getting bigger and badder. The bad guys are getting stronger and smarter, but so are the good guys. Robert Brannick is an alter vampire that has been rescuing women forced into the sex slave business. Juliet Tunney is an alter fae that has been secretly meeting Brannick in his dreams for the last 5 months, violating serious Revel Territory law by invading his dreams. Brannick's subconscious would love nothing more than to keep Juliet but Brannick's conscious self is holding on to old wounds and hurts. The two of them go through many ups and downs while trying to figure out how to be together in a world gone mad, but the end result is beautiful.

Book 3 is so far my favorite. I liked the two main characters; their relationship and how they worked together made for a strong story. The emotional conflict was strong and real. The bad guy wasn't over done or came across as unbeatable, which was nice. He was real and not over dramatic. I liked the addition of the Fae to the series. The first two books dealt with vampires and witches, so brining in a new species was a fresh change. Overall an enjoyable read. The world of Five Bridges continues to be a compelling setting for the story line and I am getting the feeling that due to the setting, this series might be better than the Blood Rose series.

Again Ms. Roane writes an exceptional story of a "alter" world and the remarkable species that inhabit it. The border patrol who fight wrong as well as corruption in their own ranks and the strong faithful women who have to struggle to make these fighters understand their worth and discover love! Brannick and Julia are extraordinary in their desire and passionate in their struggles...their humor, their steadfastness in their fight for justice make "5 Bridges" and its desperation a world only the very strong can survive. Ms. Roane's ability to capture their surroundings, their passion and their compassion in vivid detail make you take notice! Love this series, bring on the shifters!!
