Great book, it is a shame it's not more well known. I'm definitely passing my copy along. For folks who liked Fr. Greg Boyle's "Tattoos on the Heart," this book is right up there with it. It tells the story of a church community in the Tenderloin district of San Francisco and their efforts to help heal the lives burdened by racism, addiction, and AIDS. Just one of the things I loved about it was the first person testimony in the mix of every chapter. The book isn't fake or putting on any kinda airs. Recommend 100%
