This set of stories were very different in their respective appeal for me. I gave it 3 stars because there are 2 stories that I am glad I didn't miss. But only 3 stars because it has one story I wish I had never read. Mele's Halloween Caper - I gave this one 3 out of 5 stars. I like the story but it dragged a bit. There wasn't enough story between the set-up and the solution. Kate & Black Vs the Halloween Fair - I gave this one 4 out of 5 stars. I really enjoyed the story and will look for more books if this is a series. Sami's Story - I gave this one 4 out of 5 stars but that was mostly because this is a story written by a cat. :-) If it was written by a human it would have lost a star. Good simple story. Which Witch - 3 out of 5 stars. It has a very interesting premise but I didn't think it delivered on the promise. I still enjoyed it. Sister Witchcraft - And the Cat Came Back - 5 out of 5 stars. I loved this! Interesting, 3 dimensional characters, a familiar but still interesting premise, a delightful introduction to a promising series. It's Out There Somewhere - this is a few pages of self-indulgence; it is not a story.
Cute and short, the stories are little side stories in various cozy mystery series and would probably be more interesting if I read any of the series. As it was, I found there was a lot of inside things, it expected you to know some things about the books. It wasn't bad, but it didn't make me want to look up any of the series these tales come from.
I was going to write a review for each book but since I can't do that I will say that I loved most all of the books other than Sami's Story - which was a cat's story for his point of view and that just wasn't my cup of tea. All the other stories I enjoyed.
PS - I got this set in Kobo and it shows that it should be in Amazon as well but I can't find it in either to leave other reviews.
Like any collection, some of the stories were better than others. I liked Sami's Story the best (I actually enjoyed reading from a cat's POV) and I liked the Sister Witch story. Kate and Blake and Which Witch were okay, but Mele's Caper didn't really hold my interest. The last story, It's Out There Somewhere, wasn't even really a story, and was kind of pointless.
