Joshua Guess (who goes by Josh most of the time, but Joshua professionally because his mom insists) is originally from southern Illinois, but moved to central Kentucky at an early age.
Always a storyteller, his interest in creating began with art. He loved to draw and come up with stories about his pictures.
Then he discovered comic books and novels, and things...took a turn.
Devouring everything from superboy to Stephen King, Josh started to gain a greater interest in writing, making it a hobby during high school and achieving distinguished marks in his portfolio.
Then, life got in the way. College and the struggle to start a life of his own away from home took up most of his time. His love of telling stories took a back seat to the needs of daily life for many years, with the occasional foray into working on one project or another.
In late 2009, Josh buckled down and started work on an idea for a fantasy novel that had been stuck in his head since those halcyon days back in high school. Struggling to find a voice, Josh realized months later after many false starts that he needed to stretch his brain a little, strengthen his writing muscles. So he began another project that had been simmering in the back of his mind, a continuing serialized zombie story, told in the form of a daily blog.
Living With the Dead has given him a measure of success, but more important has imparted new skills at wordsmithing and the drive to complete. 'Bound to Silence', his debut novel, has been released and is available now, as are many collections and versions of Living With the Dead.
Once that tipping point was reached, there was no choice for him but to keep on writing. Much more of Josh's work will be released in the coming months.

I hate writing in the third person about myself. I live an average life and work a full time job. I have three cats, two dogs, two ferrets, and a wife that I'm so in love with it hurts. My goal is to some day have enough success to write full time, and to manage a level of long term financial security that I don't have to worry about money. It's my dream to make a good living doing what I love--telling stories. I hope you enjoy my work. That's why I do it.

Ready to see some romance!

Yes, I know this is a zombie apocalypse, but romance is a part of life, especially at the worst of times human companionship is just really important. The ability to connect with another person, to not feel isolated. Kell started with friends, but after 5 years, it's time. The only way to really be able to skip it completely is if there are so few women left it's just not possible or there are none in the locations. Because facts are, attraction and physical contact are just basic human conditions and necessities. So hoping that door is finally getting opened. Otherwise these are some wickedly awesome books!

If you love zombies, this series is for you. But, its not just about the zombies. Think Walking Dead, you become very attached to the characters in this series and I am pretty sure I read straight through the night on several occasions because I just could not put them down. I am posting the same review for this entire series because I am not going to give any spoilers and I feel this way about the entire series. A must read for anyone who loves the zombie genre, and enjoys a really well written, well though out book, that has characters that evolve along with the stories.

This is the 4th book in a very good series. Joshua Guess keeps the story running so smoothly from the end of one, to the next.

As soon as I finish one, I can't wait to start the next one. I just hate to think of the last book. You feel like you are there fighting along side Kel etal.

This series isn't just about survivors fighting zombies. We see the advancements made by the survivors as well as the undead.

There are a whole bunch of new ideas here....just love it.

Great book

There is a ton of adventure in this part of the series. There are lots of zombie fights and plenty of evil people. There are also regular people who sometimes do evil things in their efforts to do good. I can't wait to start the next one.

I've restarted this book several times thinking that a better mood or mindset will help. The lengthy discussions and drawn out chapters from the previous book continue. Maybe it's me, but these last two books just don't generate the interest of the first two. It's not a bad or boring story by any means, just not as exciting and action prone as books one and two. Sorry Joshua, you're losing me bro. Three.point.five for the effort.

Solid Addition to the Series, Needs Some Work.....

Fun ride! Great addition to the series, with major cliff hanger at the end.
The story needs some work, however. Definitely some light editing. Also, some of the scenes, especially fight scenes, were hard to follow.
Overall, an edge of your seat book. Looking forward to the next installment!

Great story. There are many exciting developments in the story. A new conflict arises. There are more than zombies to worry about.

Kept me reading well into the night. I love the development of the characters and the world in which they live. Can't wait to read the next book in the series.
