Ghost has been living his life under one rule…never fall in love, never get too close, never get tied down to just one woman. Focusing solely on his club, he is able to remain unattached and free…. until a girl from his past is dropped in his lap. She was a line he swore he’d never cross. And now, in order to obtain an alliance his club needs, he’s forced to use her in ways he’d never imagined.

She needs his protection, and she’s the one woman he can’t refuse.

When Ghost finds himself unable to keep his distance from her, will he be able to push his feelings aside and use her as a pawn for the attainment of his club’s goals? Or will he put the club and their lives at risk to follow his heart?

When lies and secrets come between them, can they overcome everything to find their own piece of heaven?

**Interview with Nicole James**

4 Stars

Ghost and Jess grew up together after his dad married her mom. Jess was the little brat that used to follow Ghost and her brother around and nothing more than that. But as Jess grew up Ghost started to take notice of how her body was changing and how she was looking at him. Not wanting drama between them he decides to leave the house and put himself away from temptation. Then Jess' brother dies overseas and she takes off for Seattle with her loser boyfriend, seeing Ghost only one more time to yell at him.

Now, seven years later, Jess needs help and heads to Sturgis where she knows Ghost will be for the bike rally. On her way she runs into some trouble and brings a whole heap of shit for Ghost to deal with. Once Ghost has her back in his life he isn't ready to let go of her again and promises to protect her. But that promise may come with a decision that Ghost isn't prepared to make; his club, or her?

Ghost already had my interest before reading this, but now that I've gotten his story I like him ten times more. I loved how calm he was about everything and went into any situation with a level head. He was really protective of Jess and it was great to see how dedicated he was to her, even after so many years of being apart.

I really like Jess' character and thought she was perfect for Ghost. She was sassy as hell and headstrong and not afraid to go after what she wanted. Their relationship was this constant push and shove and where Jess was always crazy and impulsive, Ghost was the level headed one that calmed her down. They just fit together and I loved it.

I did want a little more about Jess and her time in Seattle to be revealed because it was like we were missing things about her, but it didn't stop me from liking the story. I think I would have liked it more, though, if we had those missing years from her, or at least something more about what went on while she was away.

Overall, Ghost was a great story and I loved the characters and that we got to see the club members again, especially Shade. The only thing I hated about the story was that it had to end and now I will just sit here and wait for Blood's story which I'm going to need ASAP.

4 I piss you off, you stay and fight it out with me stars. I have to say I'm really liking these biker gang books lately. I think I just like the elements of danger and bossy men really. I read Wolf by this author and didn't realize they were part of the same series. I just really liked this novel and found myself easily getting lost in it.

Jessie and Ghost have a past that neither one ever forgot. Ghost hasn't seen Jessie since he went to visit the graveyard. He certainly didn't expect to see her trying to hide and save her own life. The protectiveness he's felt over her since she was young came back full force and he instantly took on her problems. Jessie couldn't believe it was him after all this time but there he was saving her.

Jessie made some mistakes including letting herself free fall and follow a guy to Seattle, a struggling musician. She felt alone with her brother dead and Ghost never around for her. After finally seeing "the light" she decides to seek him out and gets into trouble along the way. Jessie is sarcastic, blunt, sassy, and direct. She's loved the one person who hurt her for years and now has to get in his face to admit he wants her just the same.

Ghost is loyal to his MC and uses women for the pleasure of sex without ever getting too close. It is a bit hard to get close when you're tormenting yourself over the girl, now woman, you forced yourself to hurt and walk away from. He's clever, fast acting, fierce, protective, and run by instinct. Ghost's the confident man most women salivate over from his gorgeous face to his nice body and his bad boy aura.

What I think I found the most interesting in this story is how Ghost never tried to tame Jessie but rather let her pretty much be herself. He accepted her mouthing off at him, her sarcasm, her independence, and her knack for arguing with him. He didn't think to try and make her be quiet and do as told unless it was absolutely necessary for survival. I loved that. I think the two worked well for each other because they both pushed each other, challenged one another, and accepted each other for who they were.

3.5 Stars!

This was a good second chance story. Safe for being an MC book. There is no violence against women, no cheating and the men were protective of the women. There was a small amount of other woman drama with one of the club girls, but very mild considering this is an MC book. I liked all the characters we got to know and despite being #5 in the series, it can be read as a standalone. I really liked the appearance of Blood (one of the MC's) and I'm very intrigued for his book.

The only issues I had with the story was Ghost constant use of calling Jesse "brat". These two are the main characters and him calling her a brat almost every time he addressed her kept making me think he saw her as a child. That kinda kills the romantic illusion. The other issues was the double standard we see a lot in books lately where the woman is expected to spill her guts and the man doesn't. You can't be all mad she doesn't trust you with everything from the beginning when you can't do the same. I realize this is minor and just a pet peeve of mine but it is why I rated the story lower than I would have if it wasn't an issue in the book.

Overall a really good story and I will read more from this author. ARC provided by NetGalley.

DNF 36% - No rating

I had to pun a pin in it and move on when I realized that this book isn't going anywhere and it's just a repeat of Wolf, just with different characters.

Why do I say repeat?

Well because there is the same back and forth between that main characters only for different reasons...and that bored me to death...

I decided on not rating this book because it was between this and giving it a terrible rating...and because I really enjoyed this series I went with the first one...

As a choice made it can change your whole life. Choices made and many years after the couple reunited in a situation of danger and rekindles the attraction between them.
Very good story with a lot of action, suspense and hot scenes between the heroes.
Really liked and I can't wait for the story about Blood!

“Club first, right?” “Right. You made that decision the day you put that cut on your back.”

“We’re selling magazines to support our meth addiction. Can I interest you in a subscription, sir?” Griz joked with a straight face. “Or a donation?”

"was the secret he carried. The shit she didn’t know about."

“Fine,” she snapped. “Ooo, that’s even worse. When a chick says ‘fine’, ain’t nobody gonna be fine.”

"What is it with women and cowboys?” Jessie just gave him a mystified shrug, hoping he wasn’t actually expecting her to explain it to him. He just grinned and winked. “Bikers are better.”

3 Hard Ridin' Stars

**ARC provided per publisher via Netgalley**

This is my first opportunity to read Nicole James. I was excited to try a new author and also knowing this story was set in the MC world was a definite plus. That being said, I wish I would have found the Evil Dead crew earlier and perhaps got lost in the MC gang before book 5!

Ghost is Nicole James’s newest book in her Evil Dead MC series. It is book 5 and it centers around the brother Ghost. He is a hard, strong brother with respect within the club. He has lived his life on his ride and he has left his past behind him. He has never truly forgotten those he loved…he has just moved on with his life and chose companionship with his brothers.

His path changes drastically with one phone call. Hearing the voice of Jess, his sweet “kid-step sister” has him thinking about the past and wandering how she is. Jess was just his “brat” growing up until things changed and he officially took notice of her. They had a fierce attraction, but with joined families it could never be. When the lost a loved one they drifted apart.

Seven long years, Jess has wanted Ghost. Seven long years has done nothing to quell Ghost’s thirst for this girl. When they finally come face to face, neither is prepared for the reason or the reaction. Jess has come to Ghost for help…protection. Her many poor decisions has gotten her in trouble and now her latest has both Ghost and his club in jeopardy. Can Ghost take on Jess without putting his brothers at risk? Can either be trusted to not leave the other?

Overall, I liked the majority of this read. I would have perhaps loved it had I been more invested. As a standalone it was easy to jump into the story but I didn’t feel 100% connected or invested in the Evil Dead. There is something so appealing about these MC men who straddle the line of morality. They are so bad with their illegal actions yet so amazing in their justified ways of self-preservation. Eye for an eye…protection of ol’ ladies…never leaving a brother behind…I would have loved to have been on board for the ride of the Evil Dead. Ghost was a great MC and his brothers were perfection in my view of a club. I admit to struggling a bit with Miss Jess. She was young and so naïve. She had way too much freedom of speech and sass when it came to being a new, unfamiliar face in the clubhouse. I would have loved for her to have to earn her place a bit more. She came and went and acted too freely. Her lying and stammering should not have been tolerated, but hey…when an MC man wants you, I suppose all is forgiven!

Also, I feel as if I could have used a bit more backstory. I felt very connected to Ghost. I needed to know the ins and outs of Jess’s time in Seattle perhaps. I felt this was merely mentioned but yet it could have explained her behavior more. Nonetheless, Ghost is a very enjoyable and steamy MC read for those fans of the genre. I am totally intrigued as to Blood’s story!

A given in exchange for an honest review. Yep, the boys are back in town alright! In this installment, the Evil Dead MC charters are heading back home after their yearly pilgrimage to Sturgis, Harley Mecca, has come to an end. Ghost, as I'm sure most of you remember, is from the Birmingham, Alabama chapter. You know, the home of Shades and company? Sigh ... This time, Ghost is bringing home a souvenir; a souvenir named Jessie who's also got a bullet with her name on it. So, we have another member of the MC with his damsel in distress. The two of them have a past together and some of it technically could tear them apart; that's the least of their problems as Jessie brings a boatload of trouble with her along for the ride. Sometimes, going back home isn't as easy as it seems. I love Ghost, his alpha protectiveness and his ability (for the most part) to keep Jessie calm. Wolf, in my opinion, had much more of an intense storyline (which I loved!) where as Ghost left me pleasantly satisfied knowing that everything was gonna be just fine because it was definitely a lighter read. And, that s ok ~ I love how Nicole gives us the perfect storyline to fit each one of her characters. Again, what makes this series an immediate one-click for me, are Nicole's smoking hot bikers that only take so much lip from their women, before putting them in their place, especially when their safety and welfare are at stake. The sex isn't frequent but the scenes are scorching hot ~ maybe it's because her guys are so damn badass. The banter and jokes between the brothers are hysterical. I love how the different chapters have each other's backs because as always, there is nothing stronger than the bond of the Evil Dead MC. Every time I finish another book in this series I fall more in love with her boys. Soooo looking forward to Blood's story who gives a whole new meaning to the word "badass". Another amazing read by one of the best MC authors out there!

This is a continuing story of the Evil Dead Mc and while it a bit slow at times I did enjoy it. The characters were well thought out and it had a good plot to it. Also included characters from the previous book. Recommend it to those who enjoy a good MC read.

3.5 Brat Stars

Jess and Ghost met when they were kids. His Dad married her Mom and they divorced a few years later. Though a common loss ensured they would always be connected. Ghost left everyone behind including Jess when he joined the MC and Jess fled to the West Coast with her Boyfriend.
It had been years since Ghost had seen Jess. Until he was in a biker bar and she ran inside looking for somewhere to hide from an MC out to kill her.
Without a second thought Ghost scooped her up and hid her. But they had secrets between the two of them. A lifetime worth. They weren't kids anymore... she was 24 and he was 29. The sparks flew and the forbidden romance ensued.
She wasn't safe... his Club wanted use her to gain an alliance. Another Club wanted to use her for their own reasons and a Third wanted her dead. Could she trust the man she grew up with when his first loyalty was to his club? Could she figure out a way to get through this alive? Could she keep her secrets and keep the man of her dreams?

So let me start off with saying this book would have been a strong 4 stars BUT there was so much drama and plot wrapped around Jess' secret that when I found out what it was it had me saying...

I mean I seriously don't even understand why she would keep it from everyone...

Besides that part of the Plot I enjoyed how Ghost was so protective of Jess and he didn't sleep around. Minimal OW drama. I honestly expected a lot more OW drama... The Author never really mentioned Club Whores around the men expect the one. So that was a little odd.

This is Book #5 - I haven't read any of the other books yet. You do see couples which previously had books. There is a couple which gets married in this book from a previous book which makes me want to read that book because they were so Fing adorable.

There are plenty of sexy drool worthy men in this series... I can't wait to read about Blood. He definitely caught my eye.

Nicole's done it again !! Another AMAZING installment from the "Evil Dead MC" series.
This one tells us Ghost and Jessie's story.
Jessie ~ She's known Ghost since she was a child of 8 years old and had a crush on him. She goes looking for him when her life is in danger due to her resemblance of a dead woman, a woman who happens to also have been the president of one of the "Evil Deads" enemies.
Ghost ~ Made a promise to Jessie's brother years ago to ALWAYS be there for Jessie and look after her so when she finds him and she's in trouble he feels obligated to keep that promise even though his feelings for her are strong. But has she told him the whole truth ?? And has he told the full truth about the past too ??
I was gripping my handlebars from the start to the end of this ride. There were some winding twisty roads to contend with,, with the secrets and lies on both parts, and some seriously sexy scenes too. At times i wanted to scream at both of them and at other times i wanted to jump in the book to give them both reassuring hugs too.
Yet again another fantastic story !!

Stepbrother alert! When Billy aka Ghost was thirteen and Jessie was eight, his dad married her mom. Ghost and Jessie's older brother became close and Jessie was the annoying tagalong little sister. But when Jessie turned sixteen a kiss changed everything.

After a loss and years of separation, Jessie hitchhikes her way, with just the clothes on her back, to Sturgis in desperate need to find Ghost. Before she finds him, however, she overhears something she shouldn't and now she needs Ghost's protection. But do Ghost and the Evil Dead MC have other plans?

Not my favorite by James but it's a solid story with an enjoyable plot. Ghost and Jessie were likeable characters. I'm looking forward to Blood's story. Well done.

I really liked that the conflict wasn't centered on "other women". Ghost knows what he wants and is not one to put it in jeopardy for quick relief. Jess is in big trouble and needs Ghost to help bail her out. They have a history and a spark that she was once too young to pursue. This story has a whole lot of sexy and we get to catch up on our other ED brothers. I absolutely love this series!

Kindle Unlimited, this one is okay, but I preferred Cole's, Crash's and Wolf's book. Maybe it's because this book is part of another MC, I didn't feel the connection between the characters. This book is just an okay read, didn't like Jessie that much she came across bratty, hate bratty chicks.

I'm looking forward to Blood's book as his character seems interesting.

Good except for the back and forth

Ok I liked this one, but the constant back and forth of I want you I don't want you...tiresome.

I like Ghost, he was hot. He would lead Jessie on though. Jessie was a pain in the neck. Tough though. She would get herself in situations without thinking.

Liked seeing Blood. Didn't like him at first, but he is something else.

Good read for the series.

Nicole James does it again! Book 5 in the Evil Dead MC Series is a hit for me! I absolutely love this series, Shades being my favorite character, and we see get to see a lot of him in this book, but Ghost is just one big ol' sexy hunk of man in his own right!

Ghost is a member of the Alabama Chapter of the Evil Dead MC, and he's happily going down the road he's chosen for himself, until one day he hears from Jessie, his once upon a time step-sister. She's in trouble and needs his help. That's all he knows since he hasn't been able to reach her since speaking with her briefly, once.
Jessie is running, and she knows that she needs to get to Sturgis, SD, where the Sturgis Rally, a big annual meet of all Motorcycle Clubs, including all chapters of The Evil Dead, is held. She is hoping against all hope to find "Billy" a.k.a. Ghost at the Rally. She hitchhikes from Seattle to Sturgis and takes a chance in thousands that she'll find the only man she knows can help her.

Ghost and Jessie, do find each other, and Jessie brings a whole lotta trouble down on Ghost and his club.
They both have secrets. Secrets that can be devastating to the other. Secrets that can break the trust they have for each other. Can their tenuous relationship take the burden of these secrets if they are revealed? *Will* they be revealed?

Some of the characters from the previous books make appearances in this book, and I loved seeing everyone of them again! There are some new characters that are introduced that I can't wait to read more about.

Blood. I need more of him! And to find out that is the next book to come out...
Well, needless to say, I'm very excited about *that*.

Bravo Nicole James, for another great story, with characters, old and new, that I fell in love with!

I have recently become a new convert to the MC books and I have to say if they are anything like this one I sure have been missing out. I’m finding out that I have a thing for the dirty badass bikers who know how to fight hard and love even harder.

Jessie had just found herself in a world of trouble and she has turned to the one guy she knew she could always count on; her stepbrother Billy/Ghost. Ghost came into Jessie’s life when she was only 8 years old and he has always held a very special place in her heart. As she grew older the burning desire she felt for him complicated things within the family. Ghost only wanted the best for Jessie and he figured that wasn’t him so he left her behind. When Jessie’s brother died her world fell apart and she made bad decision after bad decision. Once she realized she needed to turn to Ghost to help her out he was more than willing to do whatever he could for her.

Little did he realize that she would come into his life with so much baggage not only for him but for his club as well. Jessie had gotten herself into a bad situation with a rival club and she had information that could save a lot of bikers. The problem with this was that Ghost’s club would need to use Jessie in order to save themselves along with another club. Ghost had to make a decision if he was willing to put Jessie out there to help his brothers or would his true feelings for Jessie take the place of his club.

Ms. James did an outstanding job with the push and pull you felt between Jessie and Ghost and she sure knew how to keep you at the edge wondering what each of these two had for secrets that could potentially tear them apart. She not only gave you some extremely hot scenes between Jessie and Ghost she also knew how to use humor with the guys. Some of it was just plain laugh out loud funny. If my doorbell rings and I hear “Avon calling” you can be damned sure I’m running.

Ms. James has introduced me to a series that I have to backtrack on and get in on all of the guys she has written about and do it pretty quickly because from what I can see her next book about Blood is going to be killer. It looks that good.

I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.

5 Evil Dead Stars

Of course you know this is a 5 star plus book. It’s the Evil Dead MC. Its also Ghost. The crew is all here as this book picks up where Wolf left us for the most part. There is some back tracking so that we know where in the hell Ghost was and the events that occurred. Right there you better prepare yourself. “Brat” has arrived. That’s all Im saying. Ghost loves hard too. Good lawd. When you have him you have all of him. That is a dream for any girl.

Shades and the boys are back in full force and lord knows I love me some Hammer as well. We also get introduced to some new faces … (clears throat) … Blood. Holy Sweet Jesus .. and there is an excerpt from his book which is going to be smashed out to us in the spring.
Now just a few more tidbits for you … (squeals in delight) … guess whats coming this WINTER? A new series and Im going to give you a hint … no Im not … HAHA! Just kidding .. its are you ready for this? ….. Brothers Ink …. AHHHHHHHHHHH! What?!?! Guess who is Book 1 --- Jameson. EEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKK!!!!!

Okay so now that I got that all out Ghost’s story is one you will NOT forget. I was floored. I had no idea this hard ass man had these skeletons in his closet and neither did Shades. Oh yes .. its good. In fact its GREAT. The Evil Dead definitely lives up to their MC name in this one. Deception and secrets fill the pages. Ghost is a quiet warrior; a badass in the shadows. Sigh ….

I wont say much more but I was thrilled to get this story. Don’t pass it up – click it ladies. WHOOP WHOOP! You know it’s a keeper. I still have to say though .. Cole is my number one. BUT .. Jameson and Hammer could take that spot or fight for it. Lets wait and see!

Ahhhhhhh, I forgot how much I loved Ghost. Patient, wise, hot, hot Ghost. Always the protector, Ghost finds himself face to face with his stepsister (ex) seven years after their last meeting and of course she is in trouble. Big, ugly, (you will die trouble.) Both have secrets, hers might blow back hard on his club and his may make her run so fast and hard, he'll never see her again. Their chemistry is off the charts, mainly because Jessie's mouth sets him off, in more ways than one.
At the end of the book, the author notes the Jameson Brothers are getting their very own series, for which I have been hoping since Crystal worked with them in book 4, Wolf. I know Blood's story is on the way, but being a greedy girl, I need Tink and Hammer's story too!

Ghost knows how to compliment his woman when she needs it, "it smelled amazing. He dug in and groaned around the mouthful. “Damn, baby. This is delicious.” He looked over at her where she sat beside him. “I forgot how good you could cook.” I loved the carefree Ghost, "he stood, tossing her over his shoulder and slapped her a**. “Come on, woman. You’re ol’ man needs a back rub.” I love this series the characters are so easy to love.

Another great MC series. I loved Ghost and Jessie plus all the rest of the crew. A little emotional angst between them, a battle for territory, a seriously crazy biker, and can't forget love and hot sex. Great wedding and epilogue. I can't wait to read more about this crew especially after that teaser page for Blood.

This is actually getting 3.5 stars. I enjoyed the book, but the heroine Jessie got on my nerves a little bit. Her nickname was "Brat" and she definitely lived up to it. Ghost is a cool cucumber, but shows his fire when pushed. He was hot, just alpha enough and I really liked him. There is a lot of MC drama in this one, so if you're into that, you'll like this. I prefer the MC stuff to be on the side and the romance to be front and center. The "forbidden" aspect was pretty non-existant. The writing is decent, but grammatically, the author cannot figure out that "you're" means "You Are". Personal pet peeve of mine, but it may not bother others as much. This is a solid addition to the series and I'm looking forward to the rest of the books.

More in love with Ghost now

Ghost has been in every book and I'm so glad he's finally had his story told. I'm also glad he's finally met his match in Jessie. She's a total smarta** and he's given all these other guys so much grief over their ol ladies he needs some to.

This book was literally a page turner for me. I kept telling myself one more chapter then I'm going to bed but dang it I couldn't do it. I got more and more sucked in until next thing I know it was 3:35 am and the book was finally done.

Loved Ghost!!! Such a great story! We learn a lot about Ghost’s past in this book and his past is where his heart lies. His step sister Jessie is in trouble and when she finds him on a run in Sturgis he has no idea what he’s taken on when he tells her he would protect her. I’d like to point out that the banter between the men of the Evil Dead MC is absolutely hilarious! I can’t not giggle! I loved the writing and the storyline and I’m completely hooked to this series!

I have been meaning to get caught up with this series. I found Jess to be a bit immature for my liking. And although Ghost calling her Brat was appropriate is was annoying after a while.

Overall I really enjoyed this one. Now I am going to dive into Bloods book.
