The love of Amelia’s life is dead…but is Ty really gone forever? After Ty bled out in Amelia’s arms, the disappearance of his body sparked an unlikely union between mortal enemies to uncover what happened and if the lycan-hybrid is still alive—even though alive no longer has the same definition.
The Royal Vampire Council will take all necessary measures to protect Amelia, their vampire Oracle. The blooded daughter of a traitor, she is forced into seclusion from the human world to the Armaya—the vampires’ hidden Alaskan complex where even those in power have a hierarchy to answer to. The threat of the damned is escalating, and no royal is safe from the growing danger.
With her loyal best friend, Kendrick, at her side, Amelia will commit any act to uncover the story behind Ty’s disappearance. The only chance Amelia has to save her lost love is by learning to control her secret abilities—abilities gained through the engineered blood in Amelia's veins. But as her chances of finding Ty alive dwindle, her feelings for Kendrick begin to grow.
Powers, obligation, budding love, and lost love. There are battles to be won, but is the life Amelia’s fighting for already six-feet under?

I'm USA Today Bestselling author J.L. Myers, and I have an addiction. Books, books, and did I mention, books! I love all things supernatural and romance, with shades of betrayal, danger, characters you love, and characters you love to hate. Taking the leap from reader to writer was an inevitable step for me and I've never looked back. I love to live in my make-believe worlds (real! shhh, don't tell anyone :)

This was another amazing book in the Blood Bound series. This was book 3 there is one more book to read. I can't get enough of this series, I'm completely addicted. There's not one thing I can think of that I don't enjoy about it. Amazing writing, excellently placed, characters with depth and that are relatable, the web of twists and turns that I didn't see coming, enjoying how the story is unfolding before my eyes, and feeling like I'm right there with the characters experiencing everything as they do. I would recommend this to my Niece, sister in law, husband, and anyone who enjoys an unbelievably superb book series, that grabs your attention completely and doesn't let go until it's over. Definitely in a league of it's own.
You could not find a better title! What a web of lies indeed.
I adored this book. It’s the third of this series and it gets better and better. I truly wish JL Myers was better known as I have a blast each and every time I read her books.
So I’ll do my best to share all that I went through reading this book and maybe, you’ll become a fan yourself.
What’s this book about? This is the third installment in her series Blood Bound. The series should be read in order as the books are no standalones. It begins where the second book left us. Amelia is looking for Ty, hoping desperately he is not dead and ready to save him if he is damned. She really is depressed and has more than a hard time coping with her loss.
” I wanted the physical pain to stay, to amplify my emotional agony. Why should I feel any kind of okay when Ty was dead? That recurring bout of rage built back up, that feeling of being powerless, of drowning and having no surface to swim to. The only break I got from the suffocating depression.”
She also feels guilty as her need for pure blood is growing. She did not want to break her word and feed from a life source. Only with Ty should she do it. But her body is changing she is barely surviving on bagged human blood, it’s not enough to crave her hunger. She is starving, her strength is depleting and this is pure torture for Kendrick to witness.
Throughout the book, she’ll go hunting the damned with Kendrick, Dorian and Vanessa, always hoping to find Ty.
I had so many mixed feelings regarding Kendrick. I resented him in the beginning as he is in love with Amelia and he was alive whereas Ty was not. With his constant support, he pushed her to feel something else for him and I did not like it as I’m Ty’s Team. And I usually can’t stand love triangle. But I also pitied him. He was hurting as Amelia loves Ty so much and I reckon Kendrick is a fantastic guy. He deserves someone loving him unconditionally. Whatever Amelia did, whomever Amelia chose, he always had her back, even if he had to suppress his want and be the second.
”Why are you doing this?” A ghost of a smile curved his mouth. His gaze returned to mine, warmth radiating from his silver-blue eyes. “Because I love you, Amelia. I want you to be happy. In whatever way that comes.”
My feelings went from resentment to pity to admiration to sadness. I’m now nearly Kendrick’s team, a not so difficult feat after all what happened with Ty in this book.
But I don’t want to say too much and spoil your fun.
Let’s just say my head was reeling with possibilities and questions: - Who was commanding the damned? Caius? Marcus? Kendrick (what is he hiding in the catacombs?) Dorian? Someone else?
- Could Amelia really heal the damned? How?
- Who was her twin? Marcus as he is absorbing her power? Not Kendrick please, it would just be gross!
- Was Ty “alive” or was Amelia losing her mind when she spotted him or felt his presence?
I loved the action packed story. You have many fights, twists and turns, races for your life and I was always holding my breath and hoping he or she would be saved at the last moment. I loved reading the clues and trying to guess who was who and who did what, always wondering if I was right. I also love Amelia. She is an incredibly strong girl, constantly fighting her needs as she wants to be better than what Caius destined her to be. Smart, determined and deeply loyal, she is a kickass heroine. I was overwhelmed by all her feelings: love, sadness, grief, guilt, anger...
I was so deeply immersed in this book I nearly missed my stop on the train.
Web of Lies is an epic story, full of love, lies, betrayals, battles and incredible characters. If you like vampire and shifter novels, don’t hesitate and give this series a chance as I think J.L Myers could be the next upcoming author given the opportunity. She is as good as Richelle Mead and the likes in my books.
Ohhh…this book just played with my emotions! It hit me right in the feels…. Seeing Ty everywhere. Is it an illusion? Is he really there? Is Amelia’s guilt making her crazy? Oh my gawd so much has happened. And while I love Kendrick, I really want him to have a happily ever after, just not with Amelia. She belongs with Ty. In this life or the next, they are true soul mates. There is so much to say but every word that will flow after this will just be a spoiler. You HAVE to read this book. I thought I was heartbroken before, now its just shattered! Poor, poor Amelia. She has just hit a state of “I don’t give a f* what happens next” and that’s where she needs to be to finish this. To end it all. Ohhhh I can’t take this suspense, I NEED the next book. One last thing, the title, Web of Lies….Perfect!
*Warning Cliffhanger ahead* Loved & hated this book for so many reasons. Books started where 'Made by design' book #2 ended with Ty dying in Amelia's arms. Yeah and i cried too. Lol. Now six months after that incident Amelia has been searching and pursuing all leads to find Ty, as his body mysteriously finished. Still trying to come to terms of loosing the love of her life, Amelia has lost a peace of her heart to the point that she's been starving herself, refusing to take blood from any other than human bottled blood that is definitely not sating her hunger.. but worse than the hunger she's been having this nightmare at least twice a week reliving the horrible incident and feeling as if she failed miserably to save Ty. Refusing to give up on Ty and her promise to him. Forced by the Royal Vampire Counsel Amelia is now staying at the Armaya in her 'traitorous' father's royal suit she loves the dark in her room, not seeing all the things that reminds her of her attempted murderer & Ty's killer.. Being The prized Vampire Oracle they want & need to keep her as close as possible, to prevent anyone from kidnapping or attempt in killing her again. Forging a truce with the Lycan's Amelia have been training with Ty's father, perfecting her hand to hand combat and whatever she might need for the fight ahead once they have located Ty. Defending and killing there self against the damned takes lots of skill and training to defeat them without being killed them self's, but seeing Ty's father is difficult but she'll do anything and everything to find him even if it kills her. Amelia has been sneaking out of the Armaya walls to hunt down possible leads to Ty and using Marika as her doubleganger. ( Lol, i know right the lycan that doesn't even like Vampires), but as long as Amelia keeps to her promise they are willing to help her find Ty. As the story goes further Kendrick, Amelia's best friend and souls-mate tries to get Amelia to move on from the painful loss of Ty, but being a good friend & and in love with her, he doesn't push her to much. Love these two together a perfect fit, but Amelia doesn't want to cross that line even thou she does feel something for him, but not as deep as what she is / was felling for Ty. Feeling so sorry for Kendrick he is really such a awesome friend to Amelia, it will break your heart. ( I know i fell in love with this cutie too) to experience the pain his going through everyday so close to her, but yet so far and unreachable, but all is not loss, as the day's and months goes by they are getting closer to each other and there is a flicker of hope that Amelia might eventually get over the loss of Ty and give him a chance at loving him with all her heart the same that his been feeling for her for a very long time... Okay to more pressing Issues: For some time now Amelia has been feeling that she's been watched, and a few times she was hoping that it might be Ty, but one night she was looking out her patio's doors and her heart nearly stops, someone is watching her and that person looks just as Ty, but different, but it can't be, can it? He's dead?? or is he ( Wink) As you've been noticing from the 2nd book there are Lots of Clues and subtle hints to what you might think is going to take place next. Well think again, ALL IS NOT WHAT IT SEEMS, many surprising truths come to the surface, Amelia finally figured out who her twin brother is, and boy most of the puzzle peaces falls into place and things will then start to make more sense, even thou Amelia's ability's does give you a small glimpse into what's laying ahead.
This book was exceptionally well written, plenty of drama, hot chemistry, suspense, hurt, betrayals and you guess it: WEB OF LIES (perfect description to this book), and this book will make you freaking silly CRY... Seriously my heart hurts for Kendrick. (More on that i cannot say, as it will spoil this book, so you just have to buy books #3 & #4).
Thank you very much J,L. Myers for allowing us to be part of your wonderful world, and giving us awesome stories.
ADULTS OF ALL AGES, YOU'RE MISSING OUT ON A FANTASTIC SERIES IF YOU BYPASS THIS SIMPLY BECAUSE IT'S IN THE YOUNG ADULTS CATEGORY!!
Author J L Meyers has done it again! Web Of Lies, Book 3 in her Blood Bound Series, is a creative and innovative work of art to the vampire genre. In Web Of Lies, Meyers builds on the unique attributes some of her characters (vampire & werewolf) solely process. These either from her introduction of vampiric lore of her own creation coming to fruition or due to actions of others in an experimental manner. Myers is a masterful storyteller, her adeptness of portraying her characters physical qualities, but more so, her depictions of the mannerisms and body language she has bestowed upon them brings them vividly to life. Combine that with their dialogue and how that dialogue is delivered you can't help but feel an emotional investment to these characters. Whether you have a great affinity to some, an aversion to others or a skeptical neutrality to more, the point is you truly feel for these characters. My heart might be breaking at one moment and next thing I know I wanted to tear someone limb by limb! The pacing of events are perfectly managed, while at different levels of intensity I still found it difficult to say "this is a good place to stop for now" because there always was someone or something that had my rapt attention and I had to know how things played out! Through the years I have found that I can often tell where a story's heading, certain outcomes along the way and what the end result of the book will be. With Myers introduction of solely her own creations to both vampire lore and vampire attributes it has been refreshing to sit at the edge of my seat wondering what outcomes are coming up and new elements to be found! I truly hope adults of any age (I'm 51) pick up and try the Blood Bound series, if it hadn't had YA on the cover I would've never guessed that was the target audience and may have missed out on who is now my favorite author in the vampire genre! I eagerly ordered Book 4, Born To Die, as soon as I finished the last line of Web Of Lies and already started mourning that it is the series end.
Web of Lies had me hooked, trying to figure everything out. Not to mention all the feels this book has, pulling your emotions every which way. Every time I picked this book up I kept telling myself ‘Just one more chapter’, but eventually 4 am and way more than one chapter rolled around and I had to force myself to put it down. But I really, really didn’t want to, especially when I got to the last 3/4ths of the book because things were set in motion and happening and I needed to know how it was all going to play out like I needed air to breathe. Needless to say, I immediately picked it back up the next morning and didn’t put it down until I reached the end. I couldn’t help myself.
With secrets revealed, like who the damned commander actually is, Amelia’s struggle at the loss of her one true love and her hope that maybe, just maybe there’s still a chance to bring him back, the complications and feelings arising between Amelia and Kendrick as they grow closer, and the one hell of a fight between Amelia and the damned that changes everything, leaving jaw drops, heartbreaks, and sparks of hope that you can’t let go of in it’s wake, makes for one of the best books I’ve read. Fair warning though, there is a major cliffhanger in all the best ways, so be sure to have book 4, Born To Die on standby. Well done, J.L. Myers! And now I’m off to sink my teeth -- pun intended ;) -- into the final installment of this wonderful and addicting series.
I can not say enough good things about this series. I haven't read anything this good since I read A.M. Hudson's Dark Secrets series. If you haven't started this series, you have got to get started immediately! Ty, Amelia and Kendrick's "love triangle" can be a bit infuriating from time to time, but it is totally worth it. I liked Kendrick, then I hated Kendrick, but now I love Kendrick for his unfailing loyalty to his best friend. And Ty and Amelia are the perfect "forbidden" couple, never truly giving up on each other.
My heart soared when Amelia restored Ty. My heart broke when Marcus killed Kendrick. And my heart sank when Amelia woke growing closer to being damned. But then I did a happy dance when Amelia announced there wouldn't be a funeral for Kendrick. I can't wait for her to bring him back so he can live happily ever after with someone special and Amelia and Ty can finally become that perfect couple that has been hinted at all through this series.
I think I went through all the ranges of emotional feels and I'm surprised I'm still standing. Actually, I'm surprised that Amelia is still standing!!! From the first page to the very last, I felt like I was standing inside her mind as it shattered. I could feel her soul as it cleaved in half. Her body began to give up. As a reader, for most books, you feel a little ridiculous when that throat tightening, chest clenching pain hits you and you realize you're feeling emotional attachment to a fictional character. But with this book, this series, you don't stop to think "God, I'm being ridiculous!!" No, you actually feel your lungs clenching in heart breaking, crushing pain and all you can think is "how will she survive this?"... J.L. Myers has done it again and her books continue to amaze and enrapture me. And just when you think everything is fine and will work out, a surprise twist shows up, sticks another knife in your heart, and tears a new hole in your already fragile mind. I absolutely loved this series. You NEED to check it out!!
| You should pick up this series and start reading right away! | (But do start with book 1!)
Myers have done it again! Wow!
|| I received an ARC of this book from the author, and this is my honest review! (These opinions are my own)||
I'm almost lost for words. It's such a good series, with great storyline and great characters! It's so amazing to see how this story escalates and the suspense is real you guys!! Holy...!
I can't say how glad I am to have stumbled upon the first book, and I'm looking forward to the last book. I can't believe that this story is almost finished. I don't want it to end!
It's been a real rollercoaster of a ride. I seriously can't recommend this series enough!
Even as it says to be a YA book, and your not in that range/ genre, you should pick up the first book and start the series.
I would recommend it to all! (not for those under 12 years old though *wink*)
Well, I must say that I was a bit unsettled at the end of this book. Some pieces of the story were resolved while others seemed to spin further out of control? I was a bit “done” with the three-way-relationship thing that Amelia is juggling as well. I did appreciate all the inner reflection/dialogue- but it seemed overdone. Too much yo-yo action from one extreme to the other. The shock factor of some of the revelations was good, but I have no idea who/what to root for. Characters have changed sides in the battle with little/no lead in? Sorry, just not an emotionally satisfying read. I will have to read the last novel to see what happens as this one ends in an abrupt cliffhanger.
This book was an emotional roller coaster. It had me up and down, screaming "noooo" and shedding tears. Ms. Myers writes in a way that is so realistic that you'll "see" the story unfold in your imagination. I was able to identify with the characters, and found them believable. The plot carries on in this book from the previous two and remains as strong as the beginning. I have become emotionally invested in this series and can't wait to see how the next book reads.
When I started this series I really wasn't sure what to expect, but with each installment the surprises just keep coming. This one has some serious surprises and twists that I wasn't expecting and as I predicted in an earlier review is becoming very addictive....onto the next installment....and am hoping there isn't too much of a delay for number five!!!
I'm at a loss for words!! This book has pulled me in and I couldn't stop reading. Amelia grows so much through this book and learns more about her powers. She struggles through her feeling about losing Ty her one love. I just don't know what to say the books keep getting better with each one. Can't wait to read boom 4 to see how Amelia handles everything.
I love, love, LOVE this series. Every book captivates me & holds my interest to the last page. This particular book has a title that suits the unfolding of the story perfectly. I found it hard not to tear up in response to many situations in this book. I must move on to book 4 soon!
This fantasy series keeps getting better and better. I just couldn’t put it down. I cannot wait to find out how this ends, and wether Amelia dies or not. She is one feisty lady. Magic, vampires, werewolves, what’s not to like. It’s right up my street. Very highly recommended must read.
I can't believe it, the twist and turns in this this book had me knee deep and my anxiety sky high!!! After the first 2 book's not quite making 4 stars in my opinion, this book floored me! And I'm truly looking forward to the next book!

I really liked the book, but it left me hanging! There is a major cliff-hanger and someone important died! I was not happy about that at all! I hope there is going to be a book 4, but the author did not put anything in the book to tell the reader as such. i also went to her webpage and no info there as well. I truly hope there is a book 4!!!!
Other than that i am hooked on the story! I want more!
I think this one is my favorite so far in the series. It's packed full of action, intrigue and a roller coaster of events that will leave you guessing. I'm pretty good at guessing what's going to happen and who the bad guy is, but with this series, I changed my mind over and over and never got it right. It's well-written, with the world-building amazing me at every turn. I love this series! This one ends on one helluva cliff-hanger, so be warned- you're going to buy book 4 immediately! There's no way around it. You'll HAVE to know what's going to happen next. Amazing book!
**I received this book in exchange for an honest review. This in no way affected my opinion of the book or my review.**
How is it that J.L. Myers isn't more known for this series?!?! I mean, this is a series that I have to continue to know what is going on because it is just so well written and J.L. Myers just knows how to pull a reader in. So, in that case..here we go!
Amelia (now) Balthory, our heroine and now Oracle at the Armaya has pretty much gone into a depression since her beloved Ty passed away six months ago. But she still trains in everyday, but won't take vampire pure blood like she is supposed to help her live. And she is wasting away. As always, Amelia has her best friend and soul mate Kendrick by herside. And he is mighty worried. Plus Amelia has to deal with her former uncle now father Caius on trial.
Amelia still is trying to figure out who is the commander of the damned. She is having visions, and is learning how to bring them on thanks to the help of Uriel Aswind's father's journal, since he was the oracle before he met his untimely death. But still can't figure out who it is, but she knows she knows this person.
The attacks from the damned keep happening. And maybe, just maybe Amelia starts to develop some feelings for the bestie Kendrick?!
And even if Amelia and Kendrick explore those feelings how long can they last? Well, with Amelia..not long. Because lies and deceit follow that poor girl like the plague. Plus, she believes she's going crazy when she sees her dead boyfriend. So is Ty dead or not? SO many questions for this girl!? Who is the damned commander? Who is my twin? Is Ty alive or dead?
If you really want to know the answers to these questions. You need to read this book by J.L. Myers. This series makes you leaves you wanting more!!
