Alien Lord's Captive Serial #1

Captured by the Alien Lord

Rate this book
He's big, sexy and even his muscles have muscles. Any other day, she'd climb him like a tree... If he hadn't captured her, and her entire base that is.

Sergeant Cat Moore has a little problem. Well, actually a big problem... a big alien war-group sized problem. When her base is attacked and boarded by a Lathar war group, she finds herself in the sights of their leader, Tarrick K'Vass.

The strong, not so silent and ruthless type, Tarrick's duty as a war commander means little time for himself. With no women of their own, a base full of human women is a bounty he can't ignore. Nor can he ignore the little human whose voice called out to him across the galaxy, a woman he'll stop at nothing to make his own. Even if it means a little blackmail...

Mina Carter is usually hit or miss for me. She's an excellent author, & I love sci-fi, but this book was a huge miss for me. Perhaps if it had been longer, & there was a change in the alien's thinking. But the alien's treatment was much too similar to the horrible treatment of women & girls currently being kidnapped & forced into "marriages" or used as sex slaves around the world today, & I was left feeling nauseous.
They don't even free the women deemed too old to use for sex back into their own lives, instead they'll become maids & servants. I know it said "some objectionable content" but I didn't realize just how objectionable it would be too me.
I was left not even sure she was really as attracted to him as she thought since she's drugged. He says she wouldn't have had those reactions unless there was something to build on, but I've found tons of men mildly attractive, but not enough to want to give up my freedom & way of life for them. Its also not addressed that some of these women may already have husbands (or wives). What happens to them. I know, I know, I'm putting far too much thought into an erotic short, but these were all my hang ups & there may be someone out there who appreciates this review.
And she never stands up to the alien men, or tells them that the other women's freedom isn't hers to bargain away to begin with. Even if it seems like, at first glance, she's doing a noble thing I would want my own say & she essentially takes that away by even agreeing to bargain. I was also stuck with the images of mass rapes of these poor women in my head by the end as well. Either by the aliens or in the whore houses they intend to sell them to & it was something I couldn't move past. This is clearly not a genre for me. Ok, I'm done, not with Mina Carter, cuz she's got some serious good books, but with this series unless she makes some big changes.

My thoughts: I really enjoyed that the h slowly and steadily brought her H to realize some of his peoples norms needed to be changed. The kidnapped females also showed the aliens they shouldn’t be messed with by kicking some ass. That was awesome. Overall great read and I hope she puts out more on the same world. I really liked some of the other females that were with this h.

This was really short. only 41 pages. basically nothing really happened. No depth at all. No details on these aliens etc. he had a huge dick. she had a couple orgasms. the end. if this is a series i won't continue it because it was just lacking in too many ways. nothing original

Three words--Too. Freakin'. Short.
I love Mina Carter, this was actually a great story...for what there was of it. It could have been an great introduction to a wonderful series. It was 39 pages long, so what was the point? I'm getting REALLY TIRED of authors writing little nothing stories (oh, and let's not forget the recent rash of installment books, for which we're charged an arm and leg for each piece of a book). Sorry, Mina, but I'm getting a little sick of it. I don't know if it's the publishing companies pushing this or the authors themselves. Either give me a full novel or don't bother. Very disappointed.

Very interesting take on big bad alien warrior needs itty bitty human gal to perpetuate his species.

However, it has a very abrupt ending, so I'm hoping the next one in the series is out soon.

Serial novel with a cliffie. Mars needs women trope.
Aliens species kidnap women on an army base taking the younger ones for themselves. Bad news is the older ones will be sold as servants and the younger women that refuse to be an alien's mate will be sent to pleasure houses. H intends to 'break' the h in to be his.
But h is a Sergeant and seems kickass, plus the sex scenes were hot so it looks promising.

That was quick!
Lathar warriors conquer a base in space full of human women who will be used for mating or in sex slavery if they are too resilient.
Cat finds herself belonging to war commander Tarrick. Not much resistance there. She will end up in his bed.
Not a bad story. It should be a bit longer.

Problem with doing a review for a book right after reading it your thoughts can change in a day or 2 and thats what happened with me. That is why I feel I should change my review to be fair. I gave a negative review...not mean or anything just a negative opinion. After thinking about it and getting a response to my review I agreed with her for the most part. I read Mina's work all the time and love it. She writes sci-fi and I have loved it. This book was different than I am used to. It involves a subject that is sensitive to me and I let that alter my perception a little. Although its not my favorite of her books there were some good aspects in it. We need to remember these are aliens and they arent going to understand human emotions or how humans act or do things. Yes, she wasn't given a choice but she chose to say yes to save her fellow female inmates. Cat comes off really headstrong and tough at first. Then later I felt she kinda gave up in a way? She did it for a good reason though to save her friends. She didn't want them to end up as slaves/whores essentially. Does Tarrick care for Cat? In a way because I mean he's searched for her by a voice he heard. Because of who he is he's pretty gruff and expects certain things because thats just his species. He doesnt consider her feelings at the time and as far as he's concerned that matter is closed and she is his. Does he care for her? Yes, in a way. He's not necessarily soft to her but I think given time that will happen and even love. I have to admit his character was hot and definitely a sexy alpha male lol. I do hope we read more about these specific aliens and Mina opens that world up to us. I did learn something from reading this book about my reviews. If I have mixed feelings give it a day or 2 and then do my review. :)

Captured by the Alien Lord by Mina Carter
Genres; Adult, Humor/Comedy, Romance, Sci-fi
4.5 Stars

A super short read.
Great heroine!
Snarky, smart and strong.
Great Hero.
Hot, sexy and Alien.

This is novella #1. There are 3 & they are all now in one book, 'Alien Lord's Captive'. The page count on GR is incorrect. They are all much longer than marked.

If you haven't read a Mina Carter book and you love Adult steamy reads that have strong female leads, than you 'Really' need to check her out. Her stories, just like her heroines, 'Kick Butt'!

Drug rapey blackmailers not really my thing

This was a weirdly bad plot choice for Ms Carter. Realise you have to shake things up occasionally, but the "hero" resorting to drugging and then blackmailing the heroine is not really what I'm into. Maybe trying to write so many little short stories is starting to kill the creative juices? No longer a must get

Captured by the Alien Lord by Mina Carter is a short story featuring Earth women getting kidnapped by Warriors of the Lathar. I am a sucker for "aliens need women" story lines so even though this has been done before, I really enjoyed Mina Carter's take on this sci-fi genre. I am also use to the latest craze of short stories so the abrupt ending did not surprise me. I actually prefer short stories so overall, this story was a winner for me. Can't wait to see what happens next.

That was quick!

Basically, it's like you're being captured by an enemy and he wanted you only after hearing your captivating voice, said things he will protect you and you believed him, assured he's a good guy. Then he got into your knickers!

Luckily, it's a hot alien. If it's weird alien, I bet she wouldn't let him touch her. Sadly, no chemistry between them. What a bummer.

This was really, really short. Not worth buying a few pages. It felt like 2 chapters of an unfinished story.

There was potential here. The aliens' women died out and now they are trying to find women who can have children with them. But that is all the world building you get. No idea why they died out.

Unless the later stories are actually books instead of just a few pages, I won't read further in this series.

While I had fun with this one and the next two in the serial, it is stupidly short. There is no reason for this love story to be broken into three pieces. Now, the breaking is nice as you feel hopeful about the romance but it feels wrong to me any way. Ends serial romance rant.

The heroine is a great never say die clever and practical wonderful lead. If you like alien abduction romance, this is a fun twist with an enjoyable hero.

The other kickass women in the book add to the goodness.

Works up to one sex scene in the end... which happens after she pretends to care about her fellow prisoners, I might have bought her care, if she would have slowed down from sex long enough to care to explain things to them. Really missed something with that one!

This book actually has a good plot, a promise of great "kidnapped" romance, just like Laurann Dohner's. But the story went ridiculously fast and lack of great details. So yeah, it ended up a bit flat to me.

But overall I liked this book and I look forward to read more from Mina Carter's! ❤

This is more of a serial than a *novel* per se. I liked it! Holes left in the world-building, but with the length, to be expected. Like the characters so far.

I have read other books by Mina Carter, and normally I love them. This one was a bit of a miss for me. It was just a little too short. I'm fine with shorter stories as long as they are complete and reasonably priced (which this one was), but it still had an odd feel to it. I think the problem was that we had a bit of story in the beginning, setting the scene and introducing the characters. It was set up like a sci-fi romance and all was good. Then suddenly, it turns into erotica and ends. I'm not complaining about the sex scene (I don't tend to read much clean romance), but rather the way it all comes together in the story. If it's erotica, there is too much unnecessary build-up at the start. If it's sci fi romance, there's not enough story at the end. It's caught somewhere in the middle which just leaves me a little confused. Apparently, once the heroine has had great alien sex, nothing else matters and she's not interested in the details of how her life will be from then on.

It was a good enough read, but I feel it could have been a lot better with a little more detail. And if it makes up its mind whether to be erotica or sci fi romance!

Listen, I understand how alien romance books often use the kidnapping/mating troop as the main story point. However, this one felt like satire and sort of a mockery of female soldiers. Genova crimes are not sexy. There is not a single woman whose reaction to being told her and her crew are becoming sex slave would be. Wow, this sucks but... whatev my owner is pretty sexy hahaha so I'm aroused by this situation. Like at one point the FMC ask the MMC to swear none of the women will be harmed AFTER he told her that if the females doesn't accept to sleep with his soldier they would be sold to brothels?!?? And then the sex scene happens, and the book ends and I don't understand how anyone could be aroused when 2 pages ago homealien was basically a cartonish level of evil warlord. I feel like the author was trying to get us to like this guy but less than 20 pages ago he was planning to sell the unbangable part of the crew. Reading this book is honnestly one of the oddest experiences of my life it felt like the mafia Wattpad fanfiction fever dream.

I really enjoyed this story! It pulled me in from beginning to end and I loved getting to know Cat and Tarrick. We are introduced to the Lathar's in this book and get the first contact and interactions between Cat and Tarrick. Tarrick has heard Cat's voice and been taken by it and is very happy to discover her and more women on the base when they take it. Cat is trying to figure out what happened and how to survive/escape what is happening and keeping the other women safe. This story was intriguing and engaging and flowed well. It kept me turning pages and this is a short read that doesn't feel like it leaves on a cliffhanger but doesn't fully resolve everything between Cat and Tarrick. This is the first part of their story which does continue in the next book and I can't wait to finish.

I'm dissapointed and disgusted. Why chose your female character to be soldier than make her behave nothing like it. She doesn't even ask about the casulties her compatriots were dealt, she dive straight into lust. And the 'sex 'drug''?! Why would the author make light of its use ? Because she clearly wants the leader to feel sympathitic to the alien. ''It's not a drug, it desinhibits sexual drive, that s all''? That s how alcohol or ecstasy work and we still call it rape.. I expect the author won't adress nor rectify the abuse. She'll find something worst, another more misogynistic race, to make this abuse look insignificant.

No more of this series for me.

Story is basically, women getting alien-napped, drugged to make them more “pliable” and told they can either pick one of these aliens or they will be sold to a whorehouse and have no choice in who they sleep with. Oh, and that’s only the young women, the older ladies get sold as servants. Such wonderful males that “prized all females”....for what they can get for or from them. Ugh.

A quick reading piece of excitement

Thia is a fast reading novella, tha kind that feels like it could be a part os something bigger. Whatever the case is, it is well written, as detailed in its attack scene as it is in the love scene (s). It was fun to read, i just wish there was more of it!

Not my cup of tea. Beating the really dead horse of a trope of aliens need women. If a woman won't spread'em willingly, she's sold into a "pleasure house". Dubious consent. No matter how tough or kick-ass the heroine is, in the end she will fall for the hero's magic wang like brainwashed. Yeah, I don't need that. Sorry/not sorry.

To start with: I would advise you to read book 1-3 of the series as one book, please. It's really just one story and should be read that way. Makes for a much more enjoyable read.

I rated this book on the first installment alone and it left a bad feeling behind. So that's why it only got 2 stars. Book 2 got 3 stars and book 3 4 stars. So overall it's an evolving story and was an enjoyable read if you take all 3 stories together.

Wow!!

It was short and sweet . Loved the characters. Cat is a human on a military base when it's attacked and she and the other women are taken captured. Tarrik is the commander of the aliens that attack the base. As I said it's short and sweet it's part of a series of books by Mina Carter. Get and enjoy it.
