Up to 20% of the population suffers from overactive bladder, experienced as suddenly and urgently needing to use the toilet. Author Joanne Temple endured these symptoms for years, sometimes too afraid to leave the house in case her symptoms came on. Advice to simply use 'will power' to control her bladder was of limited use, so she developed a range of techniques to help her calm her fears, release stress, and gradually regain control of her bladder and start to live a normal life again. Here she reveals how she did it, with easy step by step instructions so you too can be free of the misery of an overactive bladder.
I was diagnosed with overactive bladder a few years ago, but I'm not sure the tips in this book can really apply to me. Even if I'm fully relaxed at home, not stressed at all, I will have these crisis where I really need to go every five minutes, and a lot comes out every time. It's not a case of feeling a need to go but not much comes out. I didn't feel I could relate to what was written in there.
Although, I will try the tips to try to increase the capacity of my bladder by drinking more water and holding on more.
