Do you love players with a redeemable soul and a backstory that warrant their aversión to being committed? Do you like a strong female that wants to find love, wants to share her life with that special one, but doesn't have time for a man who can't be tamed? Well then this book is for you!

Haha that sounded like an infomercial.

For realz though Nate and Lyndsey are freaking adorable. One fighting for the chance to be together the other fighting against the romantic reputation tainting them. Along with battling the real fact of judgment and racism that goes along with being an interracial couple.

I loved this book! Ripped into and didn't let go! I devoured it from the first page to the last and it left me hungry for more of the series! Can't wait to see what comes next!

Reading is Dreaming

Ms Ashely Hampton brings us the second story in her series Southern Rock Lyrics in "I Never Dreamed." In her first book, Breeze, we are introduced to a group of friends fighting their own battles to become victors in love. In "Breeze" we met Hannah and her Finley; now in "I Never Dreamed" we meet Nate, Hannah's friend who is still in love with her until a certain Dr. Lindsey comes into the picture and fulfill Nate's thoughts and dreams.

"Nate, you know it is possible for you to quit thinking with your dick for a while and think with your actual brain." Indeed, Nate's coping mechanisms after he has lost the love of his life and his unborn daughter, are not well seen among his family, his friends (Will and Stacy), and the new woman in his life. Nate is still consumed by dreams no longer achievable, and he believes a different girl each time is the best solution to his nightmares. Until Lindsey proves him wrong.

Lindsey came to this small town where Nate and his friends live in search of solace, recovery, and the possibility of a mended heart after what happened with her fiancé. Despite being one of the best orthopedists in the hospital, her days are still haunted by dreams of a past that was never meant to be. Until Nate proves her wrong. "I no longer had to hold on to the past. I was free. I was alive."

Told in dual points of view, "I Never Dreamed" is not a story full of angst or drama, it is not a story to throw away Kindles, or to wish you could cut in two a paperback; it is, however, a light love story that will help you realize how a man and a woman are destined to be together and can overcome the simplicity of certain barriers in life. "No guy has ever cried out of happiness because I agreed to go on a date with him."

As in all love stories, there are some external factors that may put our characters to the test of sadness, or jealousy; although nothing would compare it to the bitter taste of fighting some prejudices established by the old ways of certain neighbors.

Ms. Hampton once again touches a sensitive topic in this book, that of interracial love. Nate is a gorgeous black-skinned psychologist, and Lindsey is the white-skinned girl who "had the man in my house and in my bed, and we didn't do anything but sleep." Nevertheless, sometimes dreams are easily realized when opportunities happen on "[...] one Saturday [...] to flip my entire world upside down."

If you enjoy fast-paced stories, full of real-life characters that battle demons which affect us all one way or another, and, above all, you are a dreamer whose "[...] heart was healing from experiencing another's heart and soul [...], this is the right book for you. Read as a standalone, but if you can, don't miss the beginning with "Breeze," or the upcoming novella and novel to continue this road of friendship and love of a special circle of friends united by music and lyrics. "This was my perfection."

I never dreamed by Ashley Hampton

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Oh Nate!! I loved him in book 1 and was so excited about this book.

Nate was so in love with Hannah but because he chose to deal with their trauma the wrong way, he lost his girl. He never thought he would be able to love anyone else. He walled off his heart and figured alone with her as a friend was better than nothing.

Lyndsey is another doctor at the hospital. She starts to hang out with the “gang” after book 1. She is attracted to Nate but his player rep is not something she will overlook even if he is hot and charming his way into her heart. His horn dogging digs up her past and she is desperate to forget that part of her life.

When Nate starts to talk to Lyndsey he realizes that she is the kind of woman he would like to get to know better. He has to sort out his emotions in regard to Hanna and what they lost together. When he does, he is full court press to try and win Lyndsey. Lyndsey is worried that Nate will be just another smooth talker until her friends tell her to open her eyes and SEE the real him. The real NATE is there front and center trying to win her affections.

Right when Lyndsey and Nate are on the road to a HEA, we have the twist dropped in our lap. I remember saying “NO GIRL!! Don’t you leave our boy!!” but then we when see Nate being the good guy he can be …yeah my heart kinda swooned a bit for him.

The epilogue want long enough because I needed like another 300 pages with my guy…..LOL

I received a copy of the book from the author for an honest review.

After reading Breeze my heart went out to Nate. He found love and lost it. He closed off his heart and watched his love walk away. Not believing he could ever love again that is until he saw the green eyes of Lynsey.

Lynsey is a Pediatric Orthopedic surgeon who came to this small town to forget her past and move on. She is determined not to be just another notch on Nate’s bed post. Her heart could not handle that.

Nate is driven to make Lyndey feel special and make her realize she means more to him than any other girl in his life. Can these two overcome their past and learn to dream again or will their pasts ruin their future.

I loved watching Nate woo Lynsey he did a wonderful job stealing her heart and mine too. I was so proud of our girt when she stood up to small town gossip and put those in their place that needed to be. I fell in love with Nate’s parents so loving, caring, protective, and supportive. I will say my heart and jow dropped when the twist came along I mean really NO, this cannot be happening to Nate. I would love to see more of Nate and Lynsey.

Okay...so I couldn't put Breeze down, which is book 1 in the Southern Rock Lyrics series, and once I finished it, I went right into I Never Dreamed, which is book 2. Same damn issue. So good!!!

For a guy who's had his heart broken and doesn't think he'll ever be able to repair the void, Dr Nate Ramon sure is trying his darndest to not feel anything when it comes to women. Being a psychologist, one would think he would know better that isn't going to happen!!! Too bad he runs into the beautiful and amazing Dr Lyndsey Henderson. She pretty much knocks Nate for a loop...and I'm damn proud she did!!! She's doesn't take any crap and I love that about her!!!

This two have their own battles and demons to fight...but they do it with grace! I so happy that all the characters in Ashley Hampton's books are people that I would want to have as friends. They're fiercly loyal and become family to each other through all the trials and tribulations!

I loved Book 1, Breeze, so I was really excited to read this one. I Never Dreamed did not disappoint.
This book follows Nate, a super hot, psychologist trying to get over being in love with his friend (Hannah from Book 1), who is in love with someone else. Despite being a psychologist, he is doing working through his feelings, he is however making his way through ever woman in town.
In walks Lindsey. An orthopedic surgeon, who cam to town to get away from a past that still haunts her. She is strong-willed, and doesn't let what others say stand in her way. She grabs Nates attention immediately but he has to work hard to make her believe she won't just be a notch in his bed post.
This story touches on some hard issues, but in a way that doesn't cause alot of kindle throwing angst, but it does make you feel. I couldn't put it down. It is a sweet quick read that left me super excited to see what Hampton brings us next!!! I absolutely recommend this book!!!

4 Stars

Nate Roman- hot, sexy, psychologist that is struggling with the losses he has suffered and instead of dealing with his feelings, he’s working his way through the women of Thurston. Lynsey Henderson is the beautiful new pediatric orthopedic surgeon, who is attracted to Nate, but refuses to be one of many. After finally realizing he needs to get his crap together, Nate realizes Lynsey is a woman he would very much like to get to know and if starting out as friends is the way to do it, then he’s game.

Ashley has written a beautiful story that touches on some subjects, that sadly, people are still narrow minded about these days. Even though I Never Dreamed is a standalone, I recommend you read Breeze first, so you get all the backstory. I’m looking forward to what’s next.

This book was a gift...
I give it 4 1/2 stars
This is book 2 in the Southern Rock Lyrics Series, and it is Nates story.
Nate was left with a broken heart and felt that drowning himself in whatever female he could would help mend it. He was wrong, it only made thing worse. In steps Lynsey, a take no crap doctor, who he is smitten with. Both of them have baggage of which they need to rid themselves of before they can become whole. Once they get to the point of clearing themselves of the baggage , they have other things to deal with like a out of town job offer and racism in it's truest form.
I enjoyed this book, and I liked the way Ms. Hampton dealt with the racism that still exists in our time.

I really enjoyed this 2nd book in the Southern Rock Lyrics Series.

I wanted Nate to find his happiness since the first book. I was happy to see more of Will & Stacy in this book, and wished we had a little more of Hannah & Finley. It's so sad to see close friends moving away and slowly they are all leaving, but this is how life goes and Ashley does it well.

I liked the small southern town backdrop, you really get a feel for it with Thurston's Juke Joint, the gossip mill that runs rampant, the old ways that don't change even though times have.

I can't wait for more.....

Read book 1 first

I needed to see how Nate found his happiness <3
I highly suggest that you read Breeze before you read this book as it will help you understand what is going on and it will also help you to fall in love with these characters .
Miss Hampton writes strong-willed characters who have every day flaws and live normal lives with heartbreak that you can relate to . There are so many issues that are ignored in today's books that are explored in this series. It is healing for some and give hope for others.
Can't wait for book 3 !

Book 2 in Ashley Hamptons' Southern Rock Lyrics Series, this is Nate's story. I was excited to read his story and this did not disappoint. Reading about his struggles to move on with his life after the past that he shared within Hannah, who Breeze book 1 is about was very emotional and definitely pulled on my heart strings. This book was great! Loved it. I really enjoyed Lyns she was pretty awesome. Definitely a must read.

This book was a fast read for me too. I love Lynsey's take no bullshit personality and seeing Nate's softer side. I also enjoyed how this book was a pretty drama free book. Sometimes, that's what we need as a reader. A sweet book. I would recommend this book/series.

Beautifully broken Nate! He's totally swoon worthy. This was a heartwarming story of a second chance at love for two people who fit together nicely. Nate has had so much loss in his life but Lynsey helps heal him. This story was touching and hopeful, a great read!

Great second book in this series! I loved the story of Nate and Lynsey – just like in Breeze, Ashley gives you a glimpse into their lives and their backstories – and you are so much more invested in the characters that way! Ashley writes such strong women characters and I LOVE that – independent, smart, professional, yet vulnerable in all the right ways. And the male characters are strong, sexy, smart, yet tender and loving to those they love. Nate and Lynsey are another great couple – with real struggles and problems to deal with – but together they work through their past in order to find their future. Another must read by Ashley!!!

Most of the gang is back for Nate story. Mate has had a hard time getting over his loss of his relationship with Hannah and the loss the share together. His way of forgetting was hooking up as much as he could, but he realized this wasn't the way. When he really looks at Dr. Lynsey Henderson, his world tilts and he starts to realize maybe he has a second chance at finding love. Lynsey is finally over her ex once and for all, the man she has her eyes on is none other the Sexy Nate, but she will never be used again. So when these two are ready to see what becomes between them the sparks fly and just maybe they have found their Happy Ever After.

Amazingly beautiful

Another amazingly beautiful story written by Ashley Hampton. With effortless style she has a way with words that have you fall in love with her characters. We finally get Nates story. You feel his emotions as he finally pushes through what was his past relationship with Hannah. Lynsey is his perfect match in every way. A wonderful story that needs to be one-clicked.

I love Nate and Lynsey!!
At first it was hard reading about Nate since he was still in love with Hannah but as time went on he moved past that and then met Lynsey and their story began. I thought Lynsey was perfect for him and love them both individually and as a couple. I can't wait to see what happens next for them!

I read lots of different types of books, but sometimes a good old-fashioned sweet and sexy romance is needed after a lot of angsty reads. I Never Dreamed fills that bill in spades. I loved this book from the first page. Nate was one of my favorite characters in Breeze by Ms. Hampton, and I knew there was more to his backstory. The reader finds out exactly what he lost when he lost Hannah to one of his best friends. To cope with his grief, he manwhores around struggling to figure out his future and what dreams he has left. Vowing to never become involved in another relationship, he drifts trying to figure things out. That is until he meets the lovely Lynsey Henderson, orthopedic surgeon.
Lynsey has issues from her past that keep her from moving forward and refuses Nate's advances because of his reputation. The couple's chemistry is sensual and explosive. Each of them are just the catalyst to motivate the other to let go of the past. Though they struggle to find their road to an HEA that road will have a couple of bumps along the way. Nate is truly a good man once he gets his head on straight and he does and says all of the right things for Lynsey, the lucky girl.
Ms. Hampton's characters are likable and well developed, their banter is humorous and flirty and the sex is HOT! I love to see how an author progresses from the course of one book to the next. This book flows more naturally than her debut and is hard to put down. I hope this is not the last I see of this couple in this series, there are still a few loose ends with Will and Stacy that I'd like to see resolved. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

So I started this book this morning and I finished it just hours later! I never read that fast if that tells you anything! I have read 2 books by Ashley now and I've been blown away twice! I could not put down either book. Now onto this actual story.

I was happy to get to know Nate a little more. I liked the glimpse of him we got in Breeze. And finally we got his backstory with Hannah. And boy was it a backstory! One that broke my heart but explained so much. It hurt Nate so much that he's kind of stuck in life. That is until Lynsey enter the picture. Nate's life will never be the same.

We were introduced to Lynsey in Breeze when she helped out Fin, Hannah, and Avery. She was sweet and I wondered if she'd be the one to turn bates head just by their encounter. And I was so glad she gave him a chance. She's exactly what Nate needs!

Things get bumpy in a way I've never read about much before. And it hurt my heart. I'm glad that Nate and Lynsey decided it didn't matter to them, that just each other did. These two are rock stars!

Second chances don't always happen, but when they do you grab them and take them. Nate and Lynsey both jump in and the result is magical. You'll want to read to find out just how magical!

She knows Nate is a playboy, but she also thinks he’s hot! He thinks she’s beautiful and loves her humor! Can he get past his feelings for Hannah and baby Sara? Can she get past what her ex did to her?
These 2 take their relationship slow, they become friends first. When they actually start dating they are met with an issue that could either tear them apart or bring them closer together. And that’s not all they will face, can they survive?
This book was great I could not put it down. Ashley writes beautiful love stories while still touching on everyday ups and downs and how this couple deals with the obstacles they face. I highly recommend this book! 5 bright stars from me on this one!

I love so much about this book. Nate is a great friend, but not to women. A serial love em and leave em guy, because he's afraid of investing his heart again. Lindsey is coming out of a bad situation romantically, and doesn't want to be just another notch in Nate's bedpost. I love how these characters develop and I really love how race is dealt with in this book. I like how Ms. Hampton doesn't describe Nate's appearance in breeze, and let's Nate just be a guy you would love to have on your side. I love how Lindsey deals with her racist neighbor and describes herself as being raised by a hippie in New York. This story is just so touching and has just enough steam.

Well. If you had not told me, I would never have known Nate was black. I am approximately those rude women's age. I live in a rural town in the South. I seldom run into women like that. But for a book's story it makes good reading.

Story was sweet and had a happily ever after that we all love to read. Fun , rainy day read
