Are you up on your definitions of the various types of natural disasters that occur around the world. Just in case you are a bit rusty on the differences between a hurricane, a typhoon, or a cyclone; when was the deadliest heat wave ever recorded; what causes volcanoes or avalanches, and much more, you should read 101 Amazing Facts about Natural Disasters by Jack Goldstein. It is a short but fun, fascinating, and fact-filled read that is part of the "101 Amazing Facts About..." series. I didn't know that there were three types of lightening until I read about it here. Check it out and satisfy your curiosity or just gather facts for your next participation in sharing trivia.
