Hilarious as usual. Haters gon' hate but her whole persona is exactly what it is meant to be. Hence the whole title of "white girl problems." If you don't have a sense of humor, read some more Faulkner. However, I enjoyed this break from the usual serious reads I endure.

American Babe is a fake memoir written by a three person writing team (one woman and two men). Babe Walker is the nom-de-plume for David Oliver Cohen, Tanner Cohen, and Lara Schoenhals; they are actors and writers who live in both New York and LA. Their White Girl Problems series is snarky satire that pokes fun at the out-of-touch rich and famous.
The character Babe Walker represents the stereotypical wealthy, skinny-obsessed, tacky reality television celebrity. Apparently, the character was originally created on Twitter, and the popularity of the Twitter character led to the White Girl Problems series.
Babe Walker is a bit less vapid in American Babe since her dead-beat, biological mother’s family deals her a healthy dose of reality. While she is not totally appreciated by the family, they understand that some of Babe’s problem is the result of being abandoned by her biological mom. Staying true to herself, she is demanding and mostly self-centered. Her foul mouth is a little much to take (both to her fictional family and to this reader). The overuse of f-bombs quickly detracted from the humor for me even if it was supposed to be characteristic of Babe Walker.
I did appreciate the satire, but I didn’t find it to be hilarious or poignant. American Babe is a very quick, lightweight read that is mildly entertaining. It is just an okay read for me, although I can see fans of certain reality TV shows enjoying American Babe more. I am a sucker for a happy ending though, and Babe gets hers.

IDK why really but I love Babe Walker. Just truly get joy whenever I read these books.
In the first two installments she was more so the bitch you loved to hate; but something about her interactions in this book made her seem a bit more emotionally real. Love all her shenanigans and her internal/external monologue!

I'd like to thank Babe Walker for getting me through the aftermath of Me Before You. She is my spirit animal, and I hope to one day have her strength. And shopping allowance.
This was another great book in the White Girl Problems series. Babe actually demonstrated some personal growth in this one. I was proud of her. Don't get me wrong, she still does crazy shit and is generally the terrible person I've come to know and love. I'm obsessed with Knox. If I have kids, I hope I get at least one like him.
I really hope they continue with this series. It makes me LOLZ like no other.

Nothing. Just two white dudes, livin' in NYC, impersonating a white girl aka Babe Walker... and writing about what a hot, perfect mess she is.

-Barbara Walker is a rich, sexy, narcissist who is without a doubt the most confident person alive.
AND IM GLAD I HAVENT MET HER YET.
-Reading this book was.... whew!... wow okay... are all LA girls like this??🤧 Never been to LA, or anywhere outside India (i mean ive been to Nepal, but that dosent count lol) but ... I don't wanna assume that this was a representation of Los Angeles. Or the people that live there.
--If I was to take a shot everytime she called something 'chic', Id get liver cancer within an HOUR.
--The best way to describe her is... MonaLisa Saperstein times....10X.... I genuinely thought it wasn't possible to write someone wore that her, and yet, the authors suprised me.
--Before diving into the book, I struggled with the fact that it was ACTUALLY witten by 3 people (2 men and a woman). I can't help but feel a mix of emotions within me. Should i view Babe Walker through a man's lens because she is written by men mostly? Should I see her through the eyes of a normal reader, who just wants to enjoy this book? Is she a fictional girl, in a fictional world, or a mirror to the reality of capitalism and consumerism?
For now, Im settling for a gentle critic.
--I actually did enjoy this book. A LOT. A lot more than I anticipated. Ive never met someone like her.

Drug Addict
Worldy.
Narc.
Vain.

Ive never read the previous two books, but... I just know that this concluded beautifully.
This self-centred, hyper-looks-obsessed diva who consumes lemon water for breakfast. Finally. FINALLY found someone to love.
No, not in a romantic way.
In a sisterly way. In a super-hero way.
Ive said too much already. PLEASE read the book when you go to the beach, or crave something EXTREMELY funny and light.
This book was pretty short but suprisingly well written and SO DARN FUNNY I ALMOST PUCKED. (NOT chic btw)
I think this interaction between Babe and her dad sums up her personality.

The whole bloody thing would be a stich up, and while I appreciate that you’re going after what you want in life, this is just a battle you’re going to lose, love.
Babe -Relax
Babe -I’m not gonna ask you to buy a baby elephant again.
Dad -Thank god. What is it then?
Babe -I’m thinking of buying myself a plane.
Dad -With what money?
Babe -Not worrying about that yet. But hear me out. I’m basically becoming Knox’s big sister/mentor/sherpa/personal shopper and for him to flourish the way he deserves to, he’s going to need to be meeting with me at least once quarterly, if not monthly. This is a big turning point moment in his life and he just needs someone like me there by his side making sure that he stays chic and major and good. Remember how malleable and spongelike I was when I was ten?
Dad- Of course I remember. I remember taking you to see Hole and praying that you wouldn’t start idolizing Courtney Love.
Babe- But I do idolize Courtney Love. Less now in light of recent accusations that she may have been involved in a conspiracy to kill Kurt, but I’m not emgtionally stable enough to get into that at the moment.
Dad -I think she did it.
Babe- Don’t say that, Dad.
Dad -Darling, she is a hoodlum. That’s why you love her.
Babe- God damnit, you’re always right. Anyway, what do you think of my Babe Airways idea?
Dad -I think it’s ridiculous.

Dad -I think if your bond with this lad is as strong as you say it is, you’ll find a way to stay in his life.

Babe has grown on me because in her own ridiculous way, she’s grown. Really confused about whether any or all of the books in the series are menores or fiction. Keep wondering who the people are if it’s a memoir and if she’d changed their real names for privacy. Perhaps that’s part of her magic formula - always keep them guessing. A cute and frivolous read. And since Babe’s grown, I acknowledge that with a bump in her stars.

This was a fun and light read. Truly amusing. Its not meant to be taken seriously, main character does some insane things in the story. It is a fiction and meant to be taken lightly.
There is even a few recipes included in the back of the book. One looks especially good and easy to make, so I plan on making it soon.
I rate it 4.5 stars.

Fun, short, simplistic read. Read as if someone had transcribed the simple life while listening to American pop radio on low in the background. Found this book left behind at beach a beach condo so I had never heard of or read the prior books by babe. Babe gave me comedy, inspiration, wholesomeness but most of all she gave me the confidence to write my own book because I could easily write one so much better than her. Thanks babe!

I did really enjoy this. The 'voice' of the character Babe Walker is good fun. She gets up to some crazy stuff, but she's not a bad person. It's a very easy to read book.

Babe Walker cracks me up. While I’m not certain as to the tolerance level I’d maintain if I’d ever meet her in person, I can tell you that reading about her adventures, or more appropriately, mis-adventures, makes me laugh and leaves me wanting more.
In American Babe: A White Girl Problems Book, Babe is given an invitation to her grandfather’s birthday party. The only catch: It’s in Maryland, miles away from the lifestyle she’s used to in L.A. Is Maryland even a real place? Traipsing through unfashionable societies and meeting individuals who eat carbs, of all things, these experiences make Babe want to cringe, but she feels as though this is the right thing to do. Or so people tell her. Should reconnecting with family be this difficult?
The silver lining is her cousin Knox, a young boy who seems to have been created from the same cloth that Babe is draped in. He’s stylish, he’s sophisticated, he knows how to create food palates that utilize raw cooking methods sans the carbs. It’s like a match made in heaven, and in discovering her family, Babe finds out what it truly means to love someone, unconditionally. So much so, she decides it’s best to kidnap Knox and take him on the trip of a lifetime! We’ll see how well that goes over.
I’ve read White Girl Problems, another Babe Walker phenomenon (reviewed here), and while I enjoyed both books immensely, I have to admit it was nice to see Babe grow a little, and gain some maturity. I absolutely adore these books. They make me laugh so much and they are just plain fun. I read the first White Girl Problems book when it first came out and I didn’t read Psychos, but am definitely going to go back and do so now after this one. I forgot how much I liked them! Babe uses a lot of slang and a lot of modern references, which will date the book over time, but it is great for now. I really enjoyed reading about her developing more of a family relationship with the characters in this book and seeing how “normal” people live. She also gets to learn a bit of responsibility in this book. Though she can be a bit obnoxious in her behaviors and how spoiled she is, I still find it really entertaining, because I know I would be the exact same way if I was wealthy.:) I’m not sure if it’s good to admit that or not, but there it is.
If you’re looking for a fun read this summer, then this would be it! I can’t say that I’ll be buying it for my school library due to content, but I will definitely recommend to some friends.

What I loved: I am fascinated and obsessed with Babe Walker and her bitchy antics. I read White Girl Problems and Psychos each in just one sitting. The books are so easy to read and you just cannot put them down, same goes for American Babe.
American Babe will make you laugh out loud even if you don't understand all of the fashion references woven through each page.
I love how Babe is a little more grown up in this book. I think if she went off galavanting to another country or had another series meltdown, the series would become a little stale. However, this one is as fresh as Babe's daily smoothie.

Babe Walker, the fictional character based on the @whitegrlproblem Twitter account is back at it again. Her third book in the White Girl Problems series shows us that this socialite/Hollywood diva is coming down to earth and growing up. This book centers around her meeting her family in Maryland of all places. She plans on going for her Grandfathers 80th birthday, but ends up meeting Scotts (a Scott Foley/Scott Speedman hybrid) and a 10 year old wonder kid cousin who steals her heart, you know the one none of us knew she even had.
The book was a quick read, LOL funny, and was less WTF crazy and more heartwarming than the last two. This is the perfect beach read, which you can likely finish in a sitting or two. I closed the book wanting more of Babe Walker, and will likely stalk her Twitter feed and read her ghost of Tweets past so I can soak her all in. V chic, non?

This book is everything. Honestly, Babe Walker is my alter ego and I wish I could be her in my actual life. She's so ridiculous, but always true to herself and always hilarious. Her personality, antics, and basically everything she says/thinks is entertaining. If you want to read something that's laugh out loud funny then READ THIS BOOK(and her two previous books obvi)!
Side note: Babe Walker isn't a real person she's a pseudo Hollywood personality created by 3 comedians. They're brilliant and I'm thankful to them for bringing someone as fierce as Babe into my life.

This book is silly funny, just what you'd expect from a White Girl Problems book.
Babe is entertaining as ever and still barely likable.
There's probably a good person under there somewhere very deep.
This book had the possible craziest Babe moment ever but she had also grown up a bit by the end.
She found someone she connected with during her trip to Maryland. It's really hard to picture Babe anywhere other than CA, so it made for an interesting setting.
If you haven't read the other books, make sure to read the first.

This was my first time reading a book from this series. I found it to be entertaining and fun. The book is satire which was gladly enjoyable. The character was funny and brought a lot to the story. It was a quick read that helped me get through the night of some light reading. I would definitely recommend this book. And hope to come across the other books that accompany this one.

I picked this book up at the library not knowing anything about the author, and was hooked by page one. This genre is not something I would normally read and the contents are as light as a feather, but I enjoyed every single page of Babe Walker's struggles with non existent mother, her insanely self centered life style and her latest tackle of spending a week in suburbia.
Great writing, fun read and I look forward to reading more from the author.

Such a quick read. Babe and her shenanigans are my guilty pleasure. She's crazy enough so that you understand she's crazy but also not so crazy that you think she's wrong. Even though she is. But is she? No, yes, she is. Is she? If you liked White Girl Problems and Psychos you'll love this one as well. Write forever Babe Walker, warrior queen.

Super funny as all of the other books in this series are!! Just a light hearted, silly, fun read! Other reviewers are thinking way to much about who Bane Walker is and who exactly wrote these books. Who cares!! It's a fun read!!

Love the Babe Walker books. Not literary masterpieces, but so, so entertaining! That is why I read them and what will always leave me wanting more Babe Walker (and even more Babette). Thumbs up, again.

While this was a good way to end the Babe Walker books, American Babe isn't nearly as funny or outrageous as White Girl Problems or Psychos, which was a bit of a letdown.
