4 STARS: HOT DECEPTION!
Wow, this was a real page-turner! Even though this was just the first part of this series and it was a quick read it felt full of intrigue and unexpected twists, not to mention it was super sexy-hot!

Before I comment further I have to warn you there's cheating on this story but this author pulls it off in such a way that you most likely won't feel bad for the characters at all. I personally didn't and I don't usually like cheating on my stories but here, I actually liked it. Seeing the characters doing "wrong" like that it felt good for reasons the story itself provides. Furthermore, such lies create a ripple effect that brings juicy drama, suspense, and lots of tension to an already intriguing story. Something else I think was a big factor of the awesome execution of this plot is that it's told in three different POVs (all characters in the triangle) and so I got everybody's perspective on their own actions and wishes which made me understand a lot even when other parts still remained a mystery...

I really look forward to seeing what happens on book two of this series! I want my questions answered and I hope I continue to be on Team Griffin Boyd because he was my character, unless the author surprises me yet again with more amazing hot-deception and everything takes a different turn which I wouldn't mind as I love the twists! :D

Omg! And I had thought Tainted Black had wrecked me!! I loved this book. I loved the characters, the unique plot and the sizzling romance.
Griffin Boyd is married but he is unhappy. His wife, Colette, ignores him. He tries to make her happy but he always fails.

Angelina Clark enters his life. Beautiful, witty and kind. He finds himself the center of her attention. They connect. Attraction is inevitable. Can they start something that is destined to end badly?

The plot was exhilarating! The story had a lot of twists and turns and the writing was passionate and engaging. I could not put it down. I felt every emotion. Griffin was an amazing hero and Angelina was a great heroine, both of them trying to balance right and wrong.
The book was exciting and I loved the author's layered characters.
Excellent. Cannot wait for the next book.

Oh wow!
Although I was enjoying this book I didn't know what to think about the three main characters....until the second half of the story.
SO. MANY. PLOT. TWISTS! And I loved every one of them! This is a quick, yet hot and good read!
Griffin Boyd is HOT and dominant and I'm dying to get more about his past, about how he has become who he is now...I also want to know more about his wife, Collete. Even though I don't like her at all, she is an enigma and her attitudes confuse the hell out of me! She seems kinda crazy, but then her father, who has something powerful over her and Griffin's head, could make anyone crazy!
I also want to see what Angelina will do and what's her deal with Mr. Jenkins and her family too! Although she wasn't right, Angelina is a character I felt sorry for, because she didn't want to do what she, and her family, pted for her to do.
I'm really glad I gave Shanora Williams' writing a chance because so far I have enjoyed it very much!!!

Manipulation. Deception. Lies.
God. This book. This author. It will leave you wanting for so much more. It will break you. It will haunt you. But I love how beautifully the story is written. I crave how it brings you to your knees, makes your heart ache and just ruin you after you finish the read. And I must've mentioned it before, but the best books for me are the ones that actually make you think. Those that make your mind whirl and work to find the answers, mostly to the question why. Those books just have so much more depth and make them stick with you. It has a way of touching your heart, your very soul. You know deep inside things like this could indeed happen in real life, but what do you know? It's not unless you know someone who went through that experience or read about it, have it laid all out in front of you until you could grasp the idea and try to understand what's actually going on. This is how deeply I felt reading this book. I just love how this author could draw so much emotion in me even at the very first chapter. Now, I'm not one who loves a story about cheating or adultery, but this one is just so great to pass up on. It opened my eyes to something that could very much happen to anybody. It hurts to read, honestly, but so worth it.
I despise Colette Jenkins, whom apparently is Griffin's wife. I hate her guts so much that I have never wanted to kill off a character until this woman... She's just such a selfish, ungrateful, manipulative, inconsiderate, lying bitch. The list just goes on on how evil this woman is. She's just so freaking unreal and full of herself. I'll just have to leave it at that. Recounting and remembering her ways just make me want to wring her neck all over again.
Griffin Boyd. Man, did I fall in love with this guy. He's so successful and powerful when it comes to his business, yet so naïve and vulnerable in other aspects of his life. He has a huge heart with so much love to give. Even I would want to fix everything for him just to make him happy. He just made some really stupid and bad decisions that are now catching up on him. I don't blame him for any of those decisions. After all, he's just human and he makes mistakes. But damn, those made a big impact on his life. Needless to say, with Griffin being such a great man, everything he went through in this book just crushes my heart so much more. It makes me want to hug and squeeze the crap out of him and just shield him from everything and everyone else. Nobody deserves to be played and manipulated the way this man has been.
And then there's Angelina Clark, Griffin's sweet angel. Okay, I know it's totally wrong, but I love this lady. What she and Griffin has is basically forbidden since Griffin is a married man, but just so perfectly right. At this moment though, I'd hate to be in her position. Morally speaking, who the hell would want to be a man's mistress? Nobody deserves to be anybody's second choice or priority. But in Angelina's case, somehow it's different. Probably it's because Griffin has already fallen out of love and is finally fed up of putting up with his selfish wife. That doesn't make what they have right, but I just couldn't explain it. You just have to read the book to see for yourself and understand what I'm saying here.
I love this book. I love this author. My mind is still reeling from it all. My heart is still madly pounding in my chest. My soul is still partially broken and crushed from what I've read. But every single moment of it was truly worth it. I couldn't wait to read the next book in the series, Sudden Flames! (I know right now it's just wishful thinking, but... Here's to hoping everything finally works out for Griff and his Angel.)

Seriously second book I read by shanora williams and she did not disappoint me at all.. Sex lies cheating what more can I ask for. But disappointed in Colette and Angelina smh how can you do all that to Griffin. Ugh bitches.. Well can't wait to see what happens in the second book..

Sex, Lies and Betrayals. The perfect way to describe this read.

Although to say that Griffin is callous, is not entirely accurate. Griffin is suffering in a loveless, fairly demeaning and disintegrating marriage and it’s through this that he has lost the man he used to be, his drive, his passion and his sanity. When he tells you that his wife is neglectful, unappreciative and selfish, he’s right on the money but this story has so many deep, hidden, scandalous layers to it that to leave the story there would be shameful. What was really well done of this book was the fact that we get three points of view- Griffin, his wife Collette and the other woman, Angelina. It is no black and white, right and wrong straightforward story, there are elements at work that are just touched upon, begging for us to question them, hooking us so we need to know more but as it’s a serial, you know you aren’t going to get all the answers you demand.
Sudden Desires has more anti-heroes than you can shake a stick at, so be prepared, there will be some moments you despise, others you will love and more that you will salivate over but just know that there is a lot of darkness, kink, infidelity everywhere and a gripping suspenseful storyline playing throughout and you will either love it or loathe it.
‘He’s hardly rubbed two words together since I came in the bedroom. I’m tired of the bullshit. Tired of the nonsense. I need to know if he feels the same way as I do. Is he fed up? Is he also tired of this charade? Tired of pretending. Has he finally given up on all of this? I need to know. I mean, even though it won’t change much, it will help something. If he does still feel something for me, then maybe this won’t be so bad.’
Shanora is a great storyteller, her characters are diverse and complex and realistic and with Sudden Desires, she will alienate some readers but there will be hoardes more that appreciate this book for what it is, a scandalous, sumptuous and downright provocative read.

Uh .. OMGAWD .. okay I cant say much but you need to read this book. What a mind freak. I love Shaora’s books and was giddy to see the ARC for this one on my Kindle.
So here is your tiny review because its too good to leave any spoilers or give you any hints as what goes on in this one. And yes there is a cliffhanger and yes its worth it and I cannot wait for book 2, Sudden Flames!
There is Colette the wife, Angelina the woman and Gabriel the best friend. Most important there is Griffin; one scrumptious piece of man that needs a good woman like me. YUP! LOL! Look at the dang cover for pete's sake ... even though its fiction I wanted to yell you stupid stupid %$@*$&. (See no name .. haha! -- no spoilers)
Griffin meets a lead player in a business deal on his day off after being called in when the owners of Stratford and Clark show up early to settled business. Boyd Enterprises is Griffin’s company. Griffin is good at what he does. Colette’s father even recognizes this hounding Griffin to move to New York and partner up with him. Wanting anything BUT to do so, Griffin heavily avoids the man also knowing that his daughter is not making strides to bring in kind of love much less romance back into their marriage. Boom .. Angelina Clark .. yes of Stratford and Clark …. And then the wheels start turning, the roller coaster is set into motion and your mind begins to blow ….. deceit is a bitch my friends.

First let me say that this story would normally leave me less than intrigued. I typically don't like love triangles or any kind of cheating BUT, when I saw Shanora was the author of course I had to read it and l sure wasn't disappointed! Yes, the cheating still bothered me but I have to say, the wife, Colette, is a mega bitch! Griffin, the hero, is sexy, dominant, and sweet. He really tried with this woman and was constantly treated horribly, which she acknowledges because this story is told from three POV's. Griffen, Colette and Angelina. Now Angelina aka Angel, I liked somewhat. Both her and Griffin have immediate chemistry and seem better paired. However, I am a wife of 20 years so my hackles rose in the beginning with her come on to Griffin but that changed pretty quickly when I read how his wife treated him and how she felt and what a truly f*^%}#< person she really is.

The story has twists and revelations but most of all I'm a little scared. After reading "Tainted Black", I'm quite aware that Ms. Williams is capable of throwing a curveball and leave us with a unpredictable ending that for many may not be considered happy. In the meantime, I'll keep my fingers crossed for Griffin and Angelina. Even though she betrayed him I still feel they have a fighting chance and I NEED A HEA!
First let me say that this story would normally leave me less than intrigued. I typically don't like love triangles or any kind of cheating BUT, when I saw Shanora was the author of course I had to read it and l sure wasn't disappointed! Yes, the cheating still bothered me but I have to say, the wife, Colette, is a mega bitch! Griffin, the hero, is sexy, dominant, and sweet. He really tried with this woman and was constantly treated horribly, which she acknowledges because this story is told from three POV's. Griffen, Colette and Angelina. Now Angelina aka Angel, I liked somewhat. Both her and Griffin have immediate chemistry and seem better paired. However, I am a wife of 20 years so my hackles rose in the beginning with her come on to Griffin but that changed pretty quickly when I read how his wife treated him and how she felt and what a truly f*^%}#< person she really is.

4 frustrated stars
I had read this book previously but decided to reread before book two and I forgot how frustrated this book made me. We hear from all three main characters in this story and honestly I so far don’t really like any of them.
Griffin Boyd is in a dead marriage and is wife is nasty in every sense so when he encounters Angelica through business and the attraction is obvious I was screaming in my head for him to go for it. When Griffin finally caves in the sex is hot, so I’m looking to his wife and asking what has this man done to make her hate him?
Colette is venomous towards her husband and I hated her from the off, even when her reasons came to light I still hated her, I am still waiting for her to have a redeeming factor. Initially I was frustrated as to why they just didn’t leave and then I was just angrier at Colette for being so weak in the beginning to put them in the situation.
Just as I was warming to Angelica she showed her cards and I was angry at her but I'm hoping she can redeem herself so I'm holding off on my judgement of her.

Shanora released her inner dirty girl into this one, and it was naughty, feisty, with truckloads of chaos, and I loved it! By the end of the book, I literally wanted to back hand more than a few of the characters, and slap some sense into them, or just slap them….ha!
Griffin is a very unhappily married man; stuck in a situation he can’t find a way out of. Colette, his unappreciative, down right nasty wife is selfish and does everything in her power to show Griffin her distaste for him and their marriage.
Finally fed up with life in general, Griffin does the one thing he never thought possible, and lives a little with the help of a new client, Angelina Clark. The passion between them is absolutely undeniable, but is he willing to give up his life for something that could just be a spur of the moment fling?
So many secrets and lies are revealed by everyone involved, and will have you shaking your head in disbelief. Definitely a page-turner with non-stop twists and turns. The sexiness is overwhelming and hot as hell, which makes this story all the more worth your time. Trust me, it will definitely leave you wanting more!

My Griff. *sigh* So yes, the amazing Shanora Williams has freaking done it again!! To be honest, she is an extremely new author to me and after what she made me feel reading her book Tainted Black I knew, just knew, she'll captivate me again with her words and just throw me to the dogs which is exactly what she did.
This book is seriously full of (DIRTY) secrets, hidden desires, betrayal, drama, forgotten vows, mistrusts, passion, love affairs, angst, jealousy, LUST-sparks, temptation, angst, hatred, deceit, determination, self-conceited persona's, promises, sleazy businessmen, an alpha male, a bitchy resentful wife, a sexy 'mistress' and a best friend who doesn't deserve the title. Gah, so much twists and turns!
I feel like if I say too much, I'ma seriously ruin the whole mystery about the book and trust me, the blurb just gives you a tiny, TINY insight to what the book is really about and to be able to dig deep, you gotta read between the lines and gosh, believe me, it's there, you just gotta be extra insightful and be aware. That is the beauty of Shanora's writing especially within this book where she makes you rethink the revelations (which weren't pretty I'm telling you, I hate her so fucking much!) you may have concluded and damn, it's mind-fuckery at it's best! The story just INTOXICATED me. What an extraordinary story-line.

Ok, where do I start? Man, this book had me hooked from the beginning! I was really hesitant to read this book because of the premise. I don't like books about cheating, and I definitely don't like books involving a love triangle. I especially don't like books that end in a cliffhanger, but man did this author deliver and do it right! I was immediately drawn into this book. It is told from 3 different POVs and I think that is what makes this book so good. You get to see exactly what each person is thinking and what they are really doing and what their reasons are for their actions. In the beginning you aren't really sure where this book is coming from. You see that Griffin loves his wife, you see that he is trying really hard to make her happy, you see that she is completely indifferent towards him, and you get to see that he is completely beaten down by this. Enter Angelina. You know right off the bat that there will be trouble. He is a vulnerable man. She is obviously attracted to him. You know that makes for trouble, but I found myself asking if it really is trouble. He is in desperate need of attention and validation. And Angelina is none to happy to give it out. You do get to see the battle of the conscious from both Griffin and Angelina, but honestly you see the writing on the walls. Their affair was unstoppable. And after seeing his wife's thinking, the way she treated him, and her deceitfulness, you find it really hard to sympathize for her. As the story goes on, you get to see how really terrible his wife is. There is a reason, and the book does hint to what that reasoning is but you don't find out completely in this book. And Angelina, she just seems too good to be true for Griffin. She is playing on his every need, and you can't help but wonder what is really going on with her. You know that there is something, but you just can't put your finger on it. There are so many twists and turns and as the story went on, I found myself yelling and gasping and shouting out "no way!!". And when it all comes out and everyone is laid bear, Griffin is finally ready to lay waste! I can't wait for the next book! I can't wait for Griffin to raise up and redeem himself. He deserves his revenge, and then some

fell in love with Shanora's last book Tainted Black so when I found out she had another one coming out I immediately jumped at the opportunity to read it. I absolutely loved Tainted Black and I had no doubt that I was going to also love Sweet Promise. And let me just say that I was NOT disappointed.
Ms. Williams' is a brilliant author who knows how to deliver a kick ass story.
Sweet Desire had a such a great plot that it left me panting when I reached the end and then I was like WTF, I am left with a major cliffhanger and now I'm hoping that I don't have to wait forever for the next book to come out!
Totally worth the read. So much deceit, lies, desires, forbidden acts, sizzling chemistry, sizzling sex and so much more sex.
A man who will do anything for his wife just to please her because he loves her and wants to make her happy. She, on the other hand, just loves to hear him beg, loves the attention but doesn't love her husband. What does he do? He finds pleasure in another woman, a woman who can satisfy his needs and wants and a beautiful woman at that. His wife is not beautiful but she's not ugly either but the other woman is drop dead gorgeous so I would definitely feel insecure if I find out who my husband is cheating on me with!!

I have officially fallen in love with Ms. Williams' writing and I can't get enough of her books. I've never had the opportunity to read her books until Tainted Black and now I must say that I am definitely going to continue reading her work because her books are very different and it doesn't seem like the repetitive stories over and over and so intriguing.
If you haven't read her books, then I suggest you get to it because I can guarantee you that you will love her books and you will not be able to stop reading them!!

I have no idea where to go with this review. Sudden Desire is 100% not what I thought it was going to turn out to be, and I cannot wait for the next book in this series! We are introduced to Griffin Boyd, Angelina Clark, and several other important characters that play a large part in what is sure to be a thrilling series. What happens when a contract comes into play between two people who least expect it?
Griffin Boyd had a happy life. Had a wife that loved, and cared for him. A business that was mostly his, and a reputation in the business world that he worked hard for. When Angelina Clark steps into the picture, and things start going down hill with his wife, the tables turn unexpectedly. It's not things just suddenly happened between Colette Boyd, and Griffin; they were on the downward spiral for many years, and this just seemed to be the straw that broke the camels back. What Griffin doesn't know is that Colette holds her own littler secret, and when the smoke clears, she isn't the only one with a glistening read A stamped across her shoulder.....
Being my first read by Shanora Williams, I definitely have to say that she has climbed her way into my top 15 authors for 2015! This was an exhilarating, not-so-sure-what-to-expect novel that was a quick, enjoyable read. I felt that this was not your typical suspense romance novel, and I completely give kudos to Miss Williams for that! The only "issue" I had with this novel was that there some grammar/wording errors that made it hard to understand slight parts in the novel. I am going to chalk it up to it being an ARC copy, and leave it at that. Again, a great, unexpected novel, that I wasn't 100% sure what to expect going into it.

Okay so I usually never write a review, actually, this will be one of my first reviews...
So let me start off by saying how much I loved this book. Holy angst!! My heart was pounding towards the end, I couldn't take much more of it!
Griffin f**KING Boyd, The big Alpha in the story. I loved him right from the start. It was his devotion towards his wife and marriage that triggered my love for him. All he wanted was to make his wife, Slutette, happy, which she was obviously ungrateful towards his nice gestures. He needed to feel love and he needed to feel like he was wanted once again, and that brings us to Angelina, the blabbermouth, who made our Alpha male feel whole again with steamy sex, trust and.... love?
So much happens throughout the story, and yes, there is cheating and betrayal (which I'm not normally fond of, truthfully). Griffin made me want to rip my hair out at times. But not as much as Slutette (Colette) did. I NEVER despised a character in a story so damn much, and I've read a lot of novels with horrible antagonists and she beats all of them by far. She has been through a lot, which at one point, I do feel a SMALL bit of sympathy towards her, until she squashes it whole. So now I just hope she gets hit by a bus. :) and I hope you feel the same after reading this book.
Anyways, I recommend this book, I give it my full 5 STARS!!!! Just know that you'll be facing a lot of heartache and definitely a lot of anger over this book. It's worth it. Even though, there is a cliffhanger at the end, I can't wait until the next book. I'm hoping everything works out between Griffin and Angelina.

Although Colette has made it clear that there's no longer a spark between them, Griffin still remains faithful, staying true to his vows. That is until Angelina Clark comes along and tempts him with her sweet sexy curves, seductive eyes and undeniable attraction to him. Griffin, finally fed up with Colette's games, gives into Angelina's advances, no longer denying his wants and needs. Secrets, contracts, lies, agendas and vengeance unfold throughout the story. Who can be trusted? Who will fall the hardest? Who will survive?
Shanora Williams delivered a heart stopping story. I love that the story was written with each character's POV. Made it more real, allowing you to feel what each character was feelings. Although Colette is clearly painted as the villain in this story, I'm left feeling sorry for her. Events and past relationships have made her numb and cold hearted.

Shanora Williams why are you trying to kill me?! I LOVED this book, but that ending has me all kinds of jacked up.
Griffin is a miserable married man. He spends his free time trying to make his wife Colette happy to no avail. She's selfish, hateful, and has no desire to make her husband happy anymore. There's no way out of the marriage so he's finally fed up when he meets Angelina Clark. The spark between them lights up a room, and Griffin finally does the one thing he never though he would do, has a passionate fling. This book is about Griffin who has been in a bad marriage for awhile now. He then becomes tempted to cheat on his wife with a work colleague.
I've always been a fan of love triangles or taboo romance so when I found out what this book was about I jumped at the chance to read it. I love reading about cheating in books especially when the person whom they're committed to turns out to be a horrible person. I am secretly hoping that Griffin and Angelina will end up together.
In the beginning I've had opinions on all of the characters, but it constantly changed throughout the book. By the end I wasn't sure what I felt for any of them. To me it seemed like they were all being deceitful and wrongdoing.
Sudden Desires is book #1 in the Sweet Promise series. While this book didn't necessarily end with a cliffhanger it still doesn't stop me from wanting to read the next one like NOW. I really want to know what happens next so I'm going to be on the lookout for Sudden Flames.

Not what i was expecting at all. Griffin, a successful business man, is stuck in an unhappy marriage. I've got to admit, i loved Griff from the start. He's trying to make his wife happy (to be honest, she comes across as a right selfish cow) but nothing's ever good enough. Still, he's determined to try. Until new client, Angelica turns up. Forward without been pushy, she see's what his wife is missing. Showed some affection for the first time in years, Griffin struggles to stay faithful to his wife. But with her pushing him away, it's only a matter of time before he does something he shouldn't. But as always nothing's as it seems. Twists, turns, lies, secrets and contracts, everyones betraying someone, and it's just a matter of time before it all explodes. Like i said earlier i loved Griff, although there were times i really wanted to flick him in the head, he can be a bit spineless but throughout the book that slowly starts to change. I honestly can't wait for the next book in this series, in fact i'm off to stalk the author til she gives me more. A really good, twisty, hot romance that'll make your head spin.

Ok so here goes. I did enjoy this story, until their first sex scene. It was everything I thought it should be.
But after that it was like everyone was his enemy, his wife, Angel, his father in law, his best friend, fucking everybody is an enemy. To be honest I did not see it coming. I felt so sorry for Griffen. He is this gorgeous, sexy as hell, man, working his arse off, he seems solid and straight forward. He does not deserve the backstabbing, bitchiness from everybody. Colette is a nasty piece of shit, doing his best friend behind his back, then Angelina what to say about her..She could have fooled me. I thought she realy cared about Griffen, turns out she had another motive for caring for him. I hate all of them. He is to good for any of them. Don't worry Griffen I've got your back - lol

Holy shit is this book HOT!!
On a scale between 1-10 it's a freaking Billion.
Do not read this in public my friends because it will be super uncomfortable for everyone yourself included.
There is cheating in this story so if you're not into that it's probably not the story for you, but I highly suggest you give this book a try anyways, the suspense and emotions will have you on the edge of your seat wanting to find out what's going to happen next and damn if you aren't in for a shocker!
You are left with a cliffhanger but I have a feeling it's going to be well worth the wait!

Once again, Shanora has left me with the worst book hangover ever! First, this is a cliff hanger but it's so worth the read. This is a steamy read that's filled with twists, drama, and betrayal. Griffin is fed up with his marriage. No matter what he does for his wife Colette, it's just not good enough for her. Then he meets Angelina and everything changes. Sudden Desires is fast paced and intriguing. I could not put this book down! Every time I thought I knew what was going to happen, Shanora threw another twist in that I didn't see coming. As much as I wanted to dislike Griffin and Colette for their actions, I can't help but love them at the same time. I was so drawn into this story that the ending caught me completely off guard. This is definitely one of my favorite reads of 2015. Shanora blew my mind with this one and I can't wait to read part 2.

This was definitely a hot story. If you have problems with cheating/adultery you will not want to read this book. Although the reasons behind the stray away from home is almost justifiable.
The suspense keeps you on the edge of your seat unsure as to what will happen next. I was drawn into the story and held on until the cliffhanger gets you in the end. I’m very curious as to what will happen in the next part of this series!

There are seldom things in this world I look forward to. Yet, I find myself biting my fingernails waiting for Ms. Williams next book. I would read this woman's to do list. Sudden Desire had everything in it, making it so exciting. I was left wondering, getting closer and closer to my e-reader as I turned each page, and when I was done I screamed: "My life! Why?!!?!" I woke my husband up spewing words about what just happened. I lost myself in this book, feeling as if I were a character myself.
If you want a to read something exciting and hot, with some shady characters, and some characters who will forever be embedded in your mind, this is the book for you.
