Good book for beginners.

This book has all the basic information and techniques that a new beginner of knitting needs to get started in the right direction. It is presented in a clear, concise, and easy to follow manner. The photos are small but can be enlarged to see what to do.

Basic Info with Diagrams

This book packs a lot of information into its pages. It goes over all the abbreviations you need to know to read a pattern and shows you how to knit with clear diagrams. I would recommend this book because I have never knitted before in my life and I am now able to make some stitches with my needles. I still need much practice though.
