Dante De La Fuente, the oldest of his siblings, is a man of the cloth—bound by honor and sacred vows to serve the church. But untold truths and misconceptions are what led him down his religious path. After the death of his mother, his trust in his father was quickly shattered. Decades later, Dante finds himself in turmoil, questioning his faith, and possibly his sanity.
And lead us not into temptation . . .
Emelia, and her twin brother, Diego, are the youngest of the De La Fuente siblings. For years, Emelia’s been carrying the burden of knowing the truth surrounding her and Diego’s birth. Exposing the long held secret could break their family apart; keeping it to herself could destroy her and Dante both. She holds the key to setting Dante free of his torment…and getting what her heart desires most.
…and the truth will set you free

Thank you to each and every one of you for your continued support.
This was very naughty read. Definitely a book out of my comfort zone. So there is a taboo story with him being a priest any everything. And they grow up like siblings. I know right. Right?
And I know I am messing this review up. I just well have nothing to say except maybe I could read the rest of the brothers/sisters books but will check the blurb first.
Received an ARC for an honest review. When you think your life is where it needs to be, there is a twist that will rock your world. Emelia is holding onto a secret. Dante is trying his best to uphold his beliefs. Dante and Emelia have always been pulled to each other. However, things and situations can be painful to handle. They have to find the strength and communicate with each other. When the secret is revealed hold on for a wild ride. Decisions have to be made and consequences will be in play. There are fantastic moments throughout Love in Purgatory. Laughter, heat and moments of frustration because you want Emelia and Dante to be together. Lexi Buchanan did a wonderful job with the story as it developed. Can Emelia and Dante have an HEA or will the secret destroy them?
This was such a good book and a little different from Lexi normal books. This is light on the bedroom action but it certainly didn't take away from the story. Dante has always felt a connection to Emelia and not in the brotherly way he should have. Running away to the church was his answer this way he could bury what he felt.
Emelia was carrying around a secret that she thought she couldn't tell as she was sure it would tear her family apart. we learnt in book 1 that Emelia and Diego weren't actually related to the other brothers and that the father they thought was theirs wasn't. Instead of coming clean with what she knew and claim her man she kept it to herself.
Tensions roll around and in parts of the book I wanted to lock them in a room and make them confess their true feelings.
When they did finally come together (no pun intended) it was electric.
This is a low angst but beautiful book and lead perfectly into book 3.
Dante and Emelia's story is pretty special. Dante is fighting so many demons in his head. Above all is guilt. Guilt for something he thinks he shouldn't feel, so he runs to the church. He hides. But Emelia is done letting him run...from himself and from her. It's time for her to come clean with a truth that their parents have hid from them.
...and the truth shall set you free.
But admitting their love is only one hurdle. He's still a man of the cloth. And he's taken vows.
Overall, Love in Purgatory packs a lot of WOW! The tension, frustration, want, it's all there and more. Book 2 in the De La Fuente Family series is filled with emotion that you don't want to miss.
4.5* I have been really looking forward to this story, and it didn't disappoint. I really enjoyed it, the story itself was paced very well, as was the physical relationship between Dante and Emelia. Although I am not at all religious it was easy to understand Dantes feelings and fears, and the struggle he went through and that for me helped make the story more realistic and enjoyable. I also liked how the family dealt with all the revelations, both as a whole and individually. It was also great to catch up with the other brothers and learn more about them and I'm looking forward to reading Mateos story when it is released later this year and I would happily recommend this story to others.
Oh wow! Where do I start?! Love in Purgatory is the second book in the De La Fuente Family series, following the cousins of The McKenzies. This is Emilia and Dante's story.........a story of unrequited love......or so it seems. Dante is a man of God and struggling with his feelings for Emilia, Emilia is struggling with her feelings for Dante and has been carrying around a secret that may change everything and not just for them. This book blew me away, totally gave me the feels. I loved the build up, I felt everything! The closeness of this couple, the love they have for each other is just beautiful. Please go and one click this book if you haven't already
I loved to book dante is a sweet and loving ohh and I cant for get stubborn I understand the love he has for he church but the love that he has for Emelia out weights the love for her he has suffered for years because he thought is was wrong to be in love with em and Emelia she has been in love with he for a very long time and could not tell the truth because she was afraid he would love the church more than her and also was afraid also afraid if tearing her family apart I love how this book when the love that they have for one another is amazing
Dante desided to become priest because he couldn't love the women who has owned his heart...so he went away and thought he could forget....
When she was eighteen Emelia overheard the truth about her and her twin's heritage. She always has loved him but not the way she should...
No one knows what will happen when the truth will be revealed....
It's beautiful story which needed to be told. I was hanging in there and haven't known what happend with those two characters in previous book. ...now I have all my answers :) I loved the book and as always Lexi did wonderful job <3
I absolutely loved this book. Dante is in hell thinking he's in love with his sister Em. He became a priest to atone for this sin. When Dante finds out that they aren't really related. Nothing, not the church, his family or anyone else is going to stop him from loving Em. Em has been in love with Dante since she was 21 yrs old. Nothing is going to stop her from claiming Dante as her own.
This is Dante's Story, he is the priest of the family. You get to meet him a few times in the McKenzie series & also in Love in Montana. This book takes you through his secret struggle & have you wondering if what you suspect is really true. I love how this book makes you fall in love with him & keeps you on the edge hoping for the best. I couldn't put this book down & I am patiently waiting for Love in Bloom.

I wasn't a fan of this book. The story needed to be told yes but still somethings missing or lacking. I loved Dante's dedication and he was torn but Em seemed so child like (climbing onto her brothers lap and crying) and immature.
